I didn't expect to have to pay for an annual membership for care.com, but I needed someone I can trust. I have had items stolen by other another cleaning service and it made me very untrusting.

We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.

I made a job listing to get care for my daughter's house, who lives in a different state. Then I paid their subscription fee. Later they took my post down, saying I cannot setup a job for someone outside of the state I live in. I said that "this means I cannot use your service and should get my money back". Yet the said the don't do refunds, despite that they didn't even deliver their service and I cannot even use them. How can they charge me for a service I cannot even use!

Needless to say, I issues a chargeback on my credit card company who got me my money back, PLUS they get their chargeback fee!

I submitted an upgrade for Premium Membership at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 9, and then started reading all this stuff about additional costs for background checks and other things at additional costs and got concerned that I was getting into something out of my budget so decided to cancel at 10:15 AM same day and there was a message about enjoying the premium benefits until March 9. This leads me to believe that I may be charged for the full month of March rather than the 15 minutes I was a premium member. Most organizations have a clause that allows free cancellation within a reasonable timeframe and I think it is reasonable that I would not be charged for 15 minutes of membership. When I have my finances established to take on the process of hiring a caregiver for my grandson, then my decision to upgrade my membership at that time will take into account how this 15-minute change of mind "grace-period" is handled by your organization.
