I journied to hell and back again! Due to a death in my boyfriend's family one of the things we landed up with was an electronic gift card with no PIN on it, but it had a balance of over 30 dollars so he said yes he wanted it with thoughts of going through an exchange for an Amazon Gift Card. He was busy so I got the duty of dealing with exchanging it. I found Gift Card Granny and liked it so went through their cardpool option. On the site there was a question asking if the card had a PIN. I said no and indicated it was electronic when that option came along. One of the matches was Card Pool which looked good so I decided to give it a try. First, I was asked where the pin was, so we contacted the executor who couldn't find it either. They then called to ask several other questions to verify it and after answering those I was to receive an email from their support on the missing PIN. After dealing with it, I then receied another call the next day. Support was to also have sent an email about the missing PIN and it too never came. They finally forwarded their copy and I was told that since I had a photo of the initial email for the electronic card, it would suffice so I attached it. I then got another email today saying they still couldn't verify the balance- I had done so at Cracker Barrel.Com itself and had also suggested that the Card Pool people I was dealing with do their verification of the balance there. It all landed up being a 4 day trip through Card Pool hell and back again and in the end they cancelled the transaction. Plus they left me feeling like I was dealing with people who were sooo thick headed enough they couldn't understand a thing even if it were written out for them in black and white with the individual doing the explaining standing there in front of them!
Sells merchandise credit as a gift card. Merchandise credit is NOT the same as a gift card. I bought a GIFT CARD so I should have received one!
Recently I received two gift cards for Home Depot (Great Store). One card was for $1000. 00, and the other was for $200.00. I decided to sell them. Not having sold gift cards in the past, I foolishly looked up a company and contacted them.
IT WAS CARDPOOL.
They were very nice and helpful, taking the card numbers, my credit card number, and my address, they told me that there was no need to send the cards. Put them, they advised, in a safe place, promising to mail me a $900.00 check the day after they confirm balance on cards.
Indeed, on the 8th of June, I received an email from Cardpool's Support Dept that informed me that my $900.00 was on it's way ("The check's in the mail").
However, something in that missive concerned me: a small fine print notation that said if the check gets lost they will send another in three weeks. I remember thinking that it was a strange thing to add.
Several days later, having still not received my money, I checked the card's balances. You guessed it. MONEY GONE GONE GONE.
Today is June 20th and you guessed it: NO CHECK.
Once you begin a transaction with Cardpool, they, allegedly, move the acct to a different department. Now you can speak to nobody, only able to attempt contact through email. It appears that this is part of the scam, keeping you in the dark and off their proverbial back. I'm convinced that, although emails are always attributed to a different person, there are only a few people working there. Their emails are always form, each saying the same thing, which is essentially: check's in the mail.
This is an operation of crooks. I have been assured that they will not be in business much longer. I have seen and read dozens, a couple hundred, of stories that mirror mine.
STAY AWAY FROM CARDPOOL. They also sell cards, many of which are worthless. Of course this is generally not discovered by the consumer until to late.
WARNING WARNING WARNING... TO PREVENT BEING ROBBED, AVOID CARDPOOL!
Sold my cards online this past Saturday. Had my check from them weds. Very easy process.
It takes forever to even get an e-gift card. No phone number to call. Awful service.
Per Hobby Lobby Fraud Dept Agent Daniel we were advised our cards are on-hold & UNDER INVESTIGATION.
My sons received the following gift cards for Christmas - (2) Target, (2) Starbucks and (2) GameStop. They preferred cash (of course), and asked if I could sell their cards for them. In the past I've sold single gift cards on eBay, but since I had six cards to sell this time, I wanted to find an easier alternative.
I found Cardpool at the top of my Google search with some decent reviews from bloggers. They had some not so good reviews on SiteJabber, but I decided to give Cardpool a shot (wish I had listened to you guys!)
At first Cardpool seemed super user-friendly. I entered each card type, card amount, card number and PIN on the Cardpool website and opened my account. I was quoted very decent prices, with a slightly higher payout for Amazon credit. I decided to take the Amazon credit option. The website quoted two business days for processing to verify the cards at which point my Amazon credit would be emailed to me. They say typical processing time is one business day, but over the holidays they require two business days - Sounded great!
Five business days later and there are no emails from Cardpool with my Amazon credit and no changes to any of my cards' submission statuses online. At the end of the 5th business day, I messaged them via their support email. They do not offer any phone support. I received an automatic response which stated they would reply to my message in no longer than 2 business days - okay, I can wait another two days.
Four business days after I emailed their support, and still no emails from Cardpool - no emails for my original submissions and no emails from support. I checked my online account, and all of my submissions are also unchanged.
They quoted me two business days for my Amazon credit, and it has now been a total of nine business days and no word from them. I have no idea if they would ever get back to me, so I logged into my Cardpool account and removed all of my submissions - fortunately, they make this process easy!
I tried another Google search, and I found an almost identical offer from one of their competitors, also for Amazon credit. I submitted my cards online to their competitor's site, but this time I had my Amazon credit within 24 hours!
I can't speak to Cardpool for buying gift cards, but I can say with assurance for selling gift cards, they may quote the highest payout, but you could be waiting until NEXT Christmas to get it! Their customer service is also non-existent. My best advice - don't waste your time with Cardpool. There are definitely more reliable options available with same easy submission process and comparable payouts who actually make good on the offers they make!
I placed an order of $68 (2 gift cards) on March 21st. I live in New York, so waited a little over a week til March 30th. Nothing in my mailbox... I emailed (because they don't have customer support phone number) them with my order confirmation email with order #. They emailed me back on March 31st saying it sometimes takes up to 3 weeks. So I waited 3 weeks as I was told to. My gift card did not come. I emailed again on April 11th informing them I did not receive my order. They emailed me back on April 12th saying that they would make a full refund and told me to check my credit card statement in a few days. So I waited again til April 16th, and I did not get any refund. I emailed them again telling them I did not see $68 back to my credit card. On April 18th, they suddenly start saying they had refunded on March 22nd. Why? I placed an order March 21st. I even contatced them on March 30th because I was so anxious to receive my order.
As of today April 18th, they insist they had refunded $68 on March 23rd, and they suggested me to contact my credit card compnay and bank becaue they can't do anything further. The phone number they have on the site is for Sales Dept. and the guy said to me "if you are not placing an order, I can't help you are you placing an order?. Horrible (NO) customer service. It's just $68, but imagine if they do this for 20 customers a day... I do online shopping everyday and have never had a bad experience before at all. BUT I would never shop on this site again.
PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO THE FAKE REVIEWS. THIS IS ALL FAKE. THEY TAKE EITHER FAKE OR EXPIRED CARDS AND SELL THEM. YOU DONT GET PAYED FOR GIFT CARDS.
If it was possible to rate 0, I would. Please stay away from this company. They get all of your sensitive credit card info plus social and approve the sell of your unwanted gift cards. Then they turn around and send this message:
We recently received your gift card code transaction but our processing center encountered an issue while processing your cards.
Our risk assessment team has determined that we aren't able to accept the transaction at this time. We have cancelled the transaction and are returning ownership of the gift cards to you. Unfortunately, we're not able to disclose any further specifics regarding this process.
We apologize for any inconvenience to you.
Best regards,

Yes it is an inconvenience. I received this email 3 days after I believed a check was in the mail. I was selling a $500 Victorias Secret gift card that an ex girlfriend got me for obvious reasons. It was a gift for me but meant for her. So I went through the online process with cardpool and they offered me $367 for the $500 gift card. I accepted the offer and put all of my personal and credit card info to prevent fraud. Then I received this email:
Thanks for using Cardpool! You'll earn $367.50 on your unwanted gift cards.
Your transaction number is #. We'll send you a check within 1 business day of verifying your gift cards and email you to let you know when we do.
Please keep your gift cards in a safe place to ensure that they are not redeemed. We'll send you payment for the following gift cards:
1. Victoria's Secret Electronic Gift Card ($500.00).
After verifying your gift cards, we'll mail a check to:
They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE number to speak of. Which is extremely convenient for them. Just some bs email to send complaints. I imagine this email is sitting there with 1,000,000 unread messages of complaints and unhappy victims. Next time before doing anything online, I will use due diligence and read the reviews. If I would have read the horrible reviews about this fraudulent company I would have never attempted to do business with them. Please take heed. Once you give your information and submit your credit cards info and gift card info this fraudulent company has the ability to do what they will. They market themselves as the largest buyer and seller of gift cards to lure people in. Then they get you. BEWARE!
Yesterday was the first time that I ever used cardpool. At first I was like many of you, very skeptical about the service because of all the bad reviews theyve gotten. However, that was not the case with my experience. I spent 3 days looking for better alternatives but cardpool offered the biggest buyout/Exchange. I exchanged my B. B. CG for an Amazon gift card and received 96% of my B. B. gift card, which was awesome. I did get worried because my transaction said complete within a few hours but I hadnt received my e-gift card. So I again looked up more reviews and became worried that I might have gotten scammed. But the next day I received my gift card at 7am. Everything went smoothly and will continue to use their services.
How can cardpool improve? I think if they incorporated a tracking feature to check the status of your card being made and sent would give everyone a piece of mind.
Ive heard their customer service needs improvement but luckily I havent had the need to contact them.
I was experiencing the same problem as many that there was a temporary error when logging in. Simply login using a computer. I know it sucks because a lot of times people just use their cell phones. But it worked for me.
I also experienced the issue where you type in the card number and pin and decide to leave the page for whatever reason and then decide to come back and reeenter the information, but the system says this card has already been entered but doesnt give an option to resume. If you have an account and input this info, it just stores it for you if you return and wish to continue. Log into your account using a computer NOT a cellphone. Youll be able to continue from there or even cancel that transaction if you wish before you finalize it.
Stay away, they take your money and get nothing. No cards, no money and especially NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
CardPool is HORRIBLE! Takes your money and sends you e-cards with a ZERO balance! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE... just auto-generated responses!
I did everything it ask me to online 1 month later still no money for my gift card sales.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Bought a 25 gift card and never received it or got my money back from the pieces of $#*!
Stay away from Cardpool, they don't reply to emails just ignore their customers. No help at all!
