8/4/23

I rented a storage unit at the 6330 Market St. Location in Upper Darby, PA. Right from the beginning I saw numerous red flags, we'll get to those in a moment. I was in a tight spot because my fiancé and I broke up and I needed to move out. The closest storage place was this Public Storage. It was a curse from the beginning. They got me into a 10x10 unit on the promotional $99 plus taxes and fees. What I didn't realize is the $15 taxes, $29 lock fee, and mandatory $20 unit insurance brought my total up to over $170 just to move in. First strike! I was in a bind and paid. However, when I was moving in, which was October of 2020, only one of the elevators was working. My storage space was on the 3rd floor numbered 835 way in the back end. There were no carts available and I had to go up the elevator and traverse about 200 meters to just get to my unit. My Apple Watch showed I stepped 8.5 miles that day. I'm positive and chalked it up as a win. Note…there are no ramps at this location. So when you are loading or unloading there is a small curb or lip that you have to step over to get to the landing. So on the first day I paid an exorbitant amount of money, navigated a broken elevator, and walked almost 9 miles moving. Then my real troubles began.

In early 2021 the unit rent was raised. I don't know the exact month or how much but I noticed a few months later. My unit rent from $99 to $150 +taxes, fees, and insurance. Then it went up again that September of 2021. So I was paying over $200 a month for a 10x10 storage unit. Then I began to get late fees added to my unit because I stopped my automatic payments. I would literally get the following month's bill sent around the 12th of each month. I remember paying a $400 monthly rent because I was late and they added a lien fee. The hours of operation are only from 9am-6pm and you only can access your unit from 9am-5:45pm. So in January of 2023 I decided to downsize my unit for a smaller, less expensive unit. The cost was supposed to be all in $129 per month. The next month Public Storage raised their rates and I was paying $181 per month for a smaller unit. So I paid $181 from February 2023- July 2023 for a 5x10 unit on the 3rd floor with access from 9am-5:45pm and no carts, ramps, or temperature control. I know…silly me! I paid over $7000 to public storage from October 2020- July 2023 and I finally moved out on August 3,2023. I called and asked if I had a grace period and they told me I wouldn't be charged until the 5th of August. LIES. I moved out on the 3rd and they send me a bill stating I owed for the whole month! You can't make this stuff up. Public Storage is predatory, unscrupulous, and not a good company to work with. I gave them two stars simply because I stored my things there for a few years with no damage or theft. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Ever.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Public Storage and their monthly rate hikes!

I ordered Indian food on Sunday night through the so called Grub Hub. They lured me in with a 15% off discount in my email. With the delivery charges, taxes, and mandatory driver tip, the cost of the food was still $18 dollars more than if I would have just picked it up myself. But I was watching tv and really didn't feel like leaving my home. I ordered at 8:26 pm. By 9:45 I still didn't receive anything and I became concerned. I checked my email and tracked my order. The website said my food was delivered at 9:06pm. So I checked my front porch, no food. I immediately called the restaurant and they closed at 9:30pm. At this point I was livid. I had just spent $43 on food and it was never actually delivered. So I clicked on the Need Help link on the Grub Hub website. I then called the 1-800 number and waited for about 10 minutes because they had "an unusual high volume of calls and a representative would be with me as soon as possible." Finally, someone named "George" answered and I literally could not understand what he was saying. But we struggled through the greeting and I explained what happened. He told me that it looks like the driver waited in front of my house for 9 minutes and then left. I said ok? So why wasn't the food delivered? Why didn't he come and ring my doorbell or knock at the door? I literally put to ring my doorbell in the instructions. He told me that Grub Hub drivers are not responsible to actually go onto the property because sometimes there is no parking. I told him that wasn't a problem because I have a driveway. Then he said, "it looks like the driver called and you didn't answer." I said, "ok?" I just want a refund of my money since I never received my food. Then the bomb! Josh said, "sorry sir, we can't give you a refund, but we can offer 50% off of your next purchase." I almost lost my mind. Stone cold robbery by app! You mean to tell me... I can order food through your app, pay a premium, not have it delivered because I didn't answer my phone when the delivery driver called, while the driver is not required to actually come to my door, and then you get to keep my money?! He said with a straight voice, "I understand sir, we can offer you 50% off your next purchase, I'll send the coupon to your email." I was tricked, beaten, and robbed. I will never ever ever ever use Grub Hub ever again! I hear Door Dash is much better and has better customer service. I'm calling my credit card company this morning to try and cancel the charges and I will give Grub Hub a negative review for the worst possible customer service ever!

First, I loved browsing all of the cars available. There were over 14,000 cars to choose from. There were so many options in order to filter the searches. I always used, leather, sunroof, gps navigation, V6 engine. There were about 900 cars that fit the description. Ultimately, I settled on a 2015 BMW 535. The price was $23,900 and I only put $1,000 down- no trade. At first I was leary about putting my sensitive personal information online, because of past experience, plus a copy of my drivers license. However, everything went off without a hitch. There are a few options for delivery of your new vehicle, which was very convenient. I chose the delivery to home option. Eight days after I paid for the car it was delivered to my front door. I test drove my Beemer and that was it! I had 7 days to return the vehicle but there was no way that Baby was going back. Best experience Ive had buying a vehicle. I give Carvana.com a perfect 5 stars.

If it was possible to rate 0, I would. Please stay away from this company. They get all of your sensitive credit card info plus social and approve the sell of your unwanted gift cards. Then they turn around and send this message:

We recently received your gift card code transaction but our processing center encountered an issue while processing your cards.

Our risk assessment team has determined that we aren't able to accept the transaction at this time. We have cancelled the transaction and are returning ownership of the gift cards to you. Unfortunately, we're not able to disclose any further specifics regarding this process.

We apologize for any inconvenience to you.

Yes it is an inconvenience. I received this email 3 days after I believed a check was in the mail. I was selling a $500 Victorias Secret gift card that an ex girlfriend got me for obvious reasons. It was a gift for me but meant for her. So I went through the online process with cardpool and they offered me $367 for the $500 gift card. I accepted the offer and put all of my personal and credit card info to prevent fraud. Then I received this email:

Thanks for using Cardpool! You'll earn $367.50 on your unwanted gift cards.

Your transaction number is #. We'll send you a check within 1 business day of verifying your gift cards and email you to let you know when we do.

Please keep your gift cards in a safe place to ensure that they are not redeemed. We'll send you payment for the following gift cards:

1. Victoria's Secret Electronic Gift Card ($500.00).
After verifying your gift cards, we'll mail a check to:

They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE number to speak of. Which is extremely convenient for them. Just some bs email to send complaints. I imagine this email is sitting there with 1,000,000 unread messages of complaints and unhappy victims. Next time before doing anything online, I will use due diligence and read the reviews. If I would have read the horrible reviews about this fraudulent company I would have never attempted to do business with them. Please take heed. Once you give your information and submit your credit cards info and gift card info this fraudulent company has the ability to do what they will. They market themselves as the largest buyer and seller of gift cards to lure people in. Then they get you. BEWARE!
