I was quoted a guaranteed delivery date of October 1st, when that date came it changed to October 13th, now it is October 13th and I still do not have my costume. I have sent a number of emails and called them. Everyone I spoke to guaranteed that they had it in stock and that they would ship in time for the new guaranteed date. After my last email they then stated they did not have the costume and that they were dependent on the manufacturer to ship them the costume and they haven't received it yet. Customer service is poor and they don't know what they are talking about. If I would have known it was not in stock I would have tried to get the costume elsewhere to get it in time for Halloween. Now there is weeks wasted and I have no costume and I have to rush around last minute finding one which I didn't want to do ordering this last month! Please do not order from them as they are false in their shipping times!
Do I have to give them one star, as I'd prefer to give zero stars. They are terrible. I ordered from them through Amazon for my children's Halloween costumes. They sent the order to the wrong address and refused to resend to the right address. They had the nerve to tell me to go to the wrong address and look for my stuff.
Do NOT shop with them. Horrible service.
I ordered my childrens costumes from here, I was given a guarenteed arrival date and it has come and gone. Our costume party is this weekend and I now have to run around looking for the exact costumes they picked out. I still have yet to recieve my items and it's impossible to get a hold of anyone when you call. They don't respond to emails and their live online serivce is a joke!
I ordered my childs costume well in advanced with few misc items. They didn't email until the evening that my order was to be delivered 10/27/15 that ONE of the items was out of stock. The costume was still available to information given. Nothing that was in stock was ever shipped. I couldn't reach anyone via 800# on hold twice for over 30min then hung up. By luck had IM chat with them which then they confirm non of my order shipped now days before Halloween have to find last minute costume for my son! NOT HAPPY
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!? This company lost my package. Has refused to refund my money. They claim the money has already been refunded or it will be done the next day. They said it was against company policy to let me speak with the billing department. Has rude customer service representatives. Will NOT return my emails. Continues to have excuses claiming phone issues or computer issues. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB as well as with my credit card company. Had to give it at least a 1 rating to post a review but does not deserve that.
I ordered 2 childrens' cosutmes, but did not get a confirmation, so ordered again. I received a confirmation for the second order. That same day, I recieved an email from BuyCostumes indicating they were having issues with their website.
A week later, I received both orders (identical). When I called to return one, they did not acknowledge any issues, only offered to refund my one order if I shipped it back to them via trackable mail (from Canada, this will cost clsoe to $90 for the box they sent, with the total cost of the items only $130). Plus the time to go to the post office to ship and the 35 minutes I spent on hold with them. Not worth it - donating the second set to charity, and will never order from them again!
Sad, but hilarious reading the reviews of this sham company! All the same crap they told me! Not sure how you would ever be able to work more than one day for their customer service!
Easy, painless. Shipped overseas to down under. Everything as ordered. Arrived in expected time frame. Was able to track the parcel. No hassles. They were very good, would use again.
I ordered my sons costume at the beginning of October, they sent me the wrong size. I payed to ship it back to them and ordered a replacement costume. I have been on the phone with them non-stop over the last four days because they keep canceling my replacement order without notifying me. They are refusing to allow me to speak to a supervisor, they keep stating that my order will be over nighted to me. However they are not actually shipping it, I keep getting told that their warehouse is backed up right now and that it will ship when they have the availability to ship it. This place is a joke, their costumer service is horrible!
It makes me angry to even give them a star! I placed my order on October 20th, paid for express shipping to have it delivered on October 23rd. I got my order but the main item, the leotard, was not in the package. I called to complain and ask for the refund since I now have to go and find the leotard somewhere else. The customer service gal informed me that they are only refunding the leotard and half of the express shipping in the next TWO WEEKS! What POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE you have! Please take the miserable $7 you're refunding for your aggravating mistake, that's not how you're supposed to fix your mistake. I now have to go and rush to get the missing item elsewhere for tomorrow. I work in the customer service industry and can't believe there are companies like yours out there!
Ordered Sept 23rd; stated an October 13th delivery date, guaranteed. Had to call on October 18th to find that the new date was estimated for October 26th. Child needed it for October 23rd, so we had to cancel and now have to hurry to find something. Wasted our time to plan ahead! Never again.

It was quick easy, all I ordered came, and customer service was amazing. (Or so I've been told by a friend... I've never had to use it!) Costumes are super cute, and they have SO many options.
I ordered a Halloween costume for my son on Oct. 15th with a "guaranteed" arrival by Oct. 21st. It never came. On Oct 22nd, I called and they told me it would arrive on Oct. 23rd. It's Oct. 24th and still no costume. My son has a Halloween party today and no costume to wear. This company has lost my business.
Like many others, I paid the "guaranteed shipping" fee and was given a delivery date of 10/28. IT LEFT THE WAREHOUSE ON 10/28! (I only found this out because I called and waited on hold for 37 minutes.)The only silver lining is that companies that do business like this never stay in business for very long.
I ordered my daughter's halloween costume on 9/26/15 and it was to be shipped no later than October 21st. I paid for expedited shipping as well. I never received an email letting me know it was shipped, so I called the company today 10/22/15 to see what was going on. My order online stated the shipping status was in pending status... I waited on the phone to talk to a customer service rep for over 30 minutes. When they finally answered I asked about my order which in turn I received an excuse that my costume is no longer available and there is nothing they can do and that I would need to find something else. I asked why I never received an email or call about this much sooner and why I am the one that is contacting them about this situation. They had no explanation other than sorry and they should have sent an email but they are very busy. If i wouldn't have contacted the company we would still be wondering what is going on! I am extremely upset to say the least because the costume my daughter wanted is now not available ANYWHERE! She was so excited to get the costume and today i had to break her heart. This is extremely unacceptable and very poor customer service. If i could give them a 0 in ratings I would!
What I received was not at all what I ordered, live chat disconnected when attempting to resolve the situation, then no response to email requesting a refund.
The ABSOLUTE WORST company to deal with they lied to me and claimed my package was ' LOST IN TRANSIT" the carrier claims the item never left the warehouse. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS INCOMPETENT COMPANY - THEY WILL LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY
I ordered a costume & accessory and even though I was provided a single tracking number for the item I received the first shipment with a packaging slip for only the accessory and it was a totally different costume. I contacted customer service (by chat because it's the only way I could get a response) and they said I had to wait for a second package (that I was unaware of). I did so & it was the other packaging slip with yet another incorrect item. I contacted them again (through chat) and they re-shipped my original order. The first box comes and it's the exact same incorrect item. Had to basically argue with them through chat to get another replacement (that they first told me couldn't happen). We'll see if this new order will be correct (although it will have to be used as a costume for next year since I won't be receiving items in time for my events - even though I ordered over a month in advance!) The price isn't worth the hassle! That's if I even get my correct items! Oh & the chats I"m talking about - take about an hour each because their response time in conversation is unbelievably long. Like I said - ridiculous & just... don't waste your time.
In Sept. I purchased a costume for Halloween. I had no problems with the transaction or shipping. I received the outfit, pulled it out the package and found it was too big when I tried it on. About a week later, I ordered another one the next size down. Got that one and it fit right. I proceeded to return the first costume with in the 30 day return policy as stated on the website. About a week later, I received an e-mail that my return was received and that my refund was being processed. A little over a month later I realized I never saw my refund or had any other communication from buycostumes.com. I e-mailed the company after siting on hold for customer service for 30 mins. The next morning I had not received a response to my e-mail so I tried calling again. The guy I spoke with said he would dig into the situation and call me back. He called back and left me a message stating he had more information about my refund. Before I called him back I found a response to my e-mail stating I was not going to get a refund because there was hair on my outfit and it was deemed damaged. All I did was take it out of the package, try it on, and put it right back in the package. I had noticed it had some seams coming undone when I tried it on. I call to speak with customer service again and spoke with the supervisor that was e-mailing me. I told her that I either need my refund or my product returned to me. She told me that she would dig into it and would get back to me either that day or the next. It has been several days and I have not heard anything and now you can not get through on their phone line. What crooks.
Answer: I have never responded to any reviews, but I have to is time- this is not a legit company- it is a hoax- do not give them your money. Every word you have read is the truth.
