I had problems with the salespeople on Build.com chat. Rude, condescending people. I have experienced several of them. Giving out false information when you ask for supervisor or owner. It feel like a group of kids that are handling customers. They don't appear to have any management supervising their actions.
I will never deal with them again as they need David and Christian to straighten them out,( the owners.) I was so upset with their actions I will write the owners and let them know what is happening with their employees.
Just terrible, I had ordered Frigidaire hood, through them. The vendor is Electrolux. The bulb was missing, extra filter missing, which is part of the order. When finally they called the vender, got the switch instead of the bulb. Had to go through several people to know what happened with my filter, came to find out the vendor didn't have it at the moment. I was suppose to get it by now but nothing. I wrote back to build.com to same people who sent me emails, but no response, even called them on their extensions still nothing. They're very unprofessional and irresponsible. They do t deserve any star.
I ordered an exterior light fixture for a house we are building to sell. I needed some measurements that were not on the site's information page, so the person on the phone got that information for me.

We purchased almost $1000 worth of merchandise through Build.com. Because of a mistake on our end, we ended up wanting to return the whole order.

Subsequent to placing an order for cabinets that were mysteriously in limber I eventually reached someone in customer service who could take action. Previous calls only indicated order was on hold but no one could tell me why. The customer service rep released the order and I eventually received the cabinets. Once opened, they were well worth the money and were of good quality. It is unfortunate that only one person at the company was able to help me as apparently this was a 'quick fix' at their end.
I've ordered before from Build so I didn't hesitate to order cabinets for my laundry room. Two weeks into the order I still didn't get an update other than confirmation of a est. Ship date. No further communications so I called - twice. No one knows why this was put on hold (they had their money weeks ago). Still waiting for a response. This has caused numerous problems, additional expense and hardship as everything is in disarray pending the completion of this project. Very disappointed in this last order and this may very well be my LAST order.
We bought a Kohler kitchen sink from build.com. They shipped via SAIA LTD. So far they have missed 3 delivery dates. And still not received.
Be careful by large items from build.com because their freight delivery can be awful! Not sure about shipping smaller items.

The shipment of the kitchen vent hood was very quick. However the hood that was shipped came in a torn, broken and obviously retaped box. When I opened the box it was in disarray. The unit had been installed, removed and returned. It was scratched and dented with the protective material removed. And Build.com sent it to me that way as the new product I had ordered and paid for. They said they would make it right but the delay means my contractor is delayed and has to have his crew return... which not only delays the job but increases cost.

We have ordered quite a few orders through them and have NEVER had an issue. Shipping has always been quick and full orders. If I'm looking on line and they are in the same ballpark as another company, I will always choice Build.com because of my past experiences!
Ordering from Build.com was fast and easy. I got my doorknob parts in less time than they said, which was great. Sadly, the part wasn't quite right--it's soooo hard to find the right parts for old double-wides that aren't carried by the places specializing in old mobile home parts. Fortunately, they were very understanding and so very helpful. It was really easy to set up my return and my money was refunded quickly, too! They are the FIRST place to look for that oddball part!

Great products, great company, we had one issue with one light fixture that was broken in shipping and it was the last light fixture to go up in the kitchen. I called them and told them about the problem. The one that I talked to was very professional and I got my new light back before I actually needed it. Highly recommended. Thanks
I ordered a Kohler shower door which broke in transit and never arrived at my home. Build did not contact me to say there was a delay. I contacted the shipper who said they contacted Build. When I phoned them they apologized and said they would send another right out and I would have in 5 days. When I did not receive it in that time they contacted Kohler and said it was backordered and would be in 3 weeks later. When I contacted them again they told me it was not in and would be in 1-3 weeks later. I asked if they could do something to help me to get a price match from Home Depot as they had the product but it was $125 more. They first ignored that question that I sent by email and when I phoned they said there was nothing they could do about that since the product was discontinued. Upon hearing the word "discontinued" I cancelled my order and placed the order with Home Depot and will have to pay more money for it and delay my job completion. I would not trust Build.com again!

I bought a Kegerator that was scratch and dent. The Kegerator came with a new CO2 bottle with regulator, beer tap tower, drip tray, and all hoses and hardware. They shipped the kegerator free. Sadly, the kegerator only worked for about a week. I contacted them and they had me check a few items and found that the kegerator was defective. They said there was no need to return the defective kegerator. So, they send me a another kegerator with all the items listed above. This is very impressive. They could have only sent me the new kegerator without the CO2 bottle and all the other items. THIS IS GREAT SERVICE! Thank you.

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging.
