I ordered $1500 worth of things from build.com and they had no accountability for ensuring the items arrived to me safely. They promised delivery on a Tuesday and I still didn't have items by Friday. On Friday, I found the warehouse where the items were sitting and drove there to pick them up my self. Build.com's customer service was combative and completely unhelpful. I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with this outfit unless you want to sink money into an unreliable business.
They sent me the incorrect items and now want to charge me to return the items. * in customer service was rude and not understanding that Build.com made an error and should correct the situation.

I purchased a pedestool sink that I had to return due to sizing. I was charged $45 to get it shipped to my home LTL and they wanted to charge me $150 to ship it back LTL. That is half the cost of the item I purchased! So much for "Quick and Easy" returns!

They were able to explain in non-technical terms the details of products I was buying. They also were able to insure that I took advantage of all the promotion prices available. I started ordering plumbing fixtures at the start of a major remodel to an old house. 4 bdrm, 3 Ba, kitchen all gutted and new finishes and fixtures. This is in a fairly remote mountain ski resort so local options are limited and very expensive. Everything was going smoothly until a plumbing fixture leaked, a mirror/vanity came cracked, then the replacement came cracked. There was never any hesitation or question from their customer service people. New replacement items were immediately on the way or I was given a direct number to the manufacturer who replaced it after qualifying that I was in the warranty period. I bought high end plumbing and door hardware, and also some generic Chinese stuff that was inexpensive, but seemed to be of pretty good quality. I am at the end of the renovation and have a few items that were incorrectly ordered ( on my part) that I want to return. I am still in the 60 day return period so I don't anticipate any problem, but will update this if there is. Overall a very good experience and I will use build.com again if needed.
Bought a Friedrich AC unit. Had it delivered. Installed it and it doesn't work. No Friedrich servicemen will come to fix because it's too far for them. I called 5 places.Build.com doesn't care. They have a NO return policy on appliances but they don't tell you that up front. Now I have a brand new broken ac unit no one will fix. Stay away from this place>

I've never been disappointed by any products purchased and when I was pressed for time due to another website which didn't live up to expectation, I always chose Build.com. I appreciated the suggestions on ordering other items as I am just an ordinary person with little to no experience with home renovations and what is necessary. I ordered some bathroom shower faucets from another website and did not receive the necessary valve. When I ordered from Build.com, they suggested the valve which others have purchased with the faucet set I purchased. Their prices are competitive and many times lower than other sites. It is important to read the entire descriptions when comparing on line because sometimes the lower price is a lower quality. Very pleased.
I ordered a very nice Zephyr hood, when it arrived I opened it to examine it and prep for install, unfortunately it arrived damaged. I contacted them immediately and they were very good about replacing it. No hassle at all. I would not hesitate buying from them again
Im shocked at the bad reviews. I ordered doorknobs on their site and found a large selection, clearly described and competitively priced. Much better selection than Home Depot or Lowes. They shipped immediately too. Im very pleased.
Customer service is terrible. Hold time average is 35 minutes. Ordered a bathtub and was told delivery company would call to set up a date. They never did and showed up at my house when I was out of town. Service rep at Build said they never said that I would be called. Dealt with three different people who all said terrible things about coworkers. Delivery company driver cursed at me on the phone and tub finally arrived broken. It took over a month to get a refund, and they wanted to charge me for storage. Home Depot matches their prices. Stay AWAY from these people. And this is only a small part of my horror story with them

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.

Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging.
