I love the book outlet online. When I found this place I have been in heaven. I did not always have the money to buy from the regular bookstores and keep up with my reading pace. With this site I can buy lots of books and stay ahead so I know I always have something to read. They may not be top sellers but some have been. I have found several new authors I really enjoy and I am trying to read all their books. Thank you for starting this bookoutlet. The prices are so much better for people to be able to read a lot. I will buy most of my books from here, if not all of them. I can not understand the people that have been disappointed with this site. They tell you the books are scatch and dent. They also say the christmas orders are delayed but hopefully you will get them in time. They do not control shipping. But I understand someone wanting their order. But you have to be patient. Also any company can make a mistake. Just like us. No one is perfect. I myself have had no problem with my orders or my books. My books have looked fine. A big thank you Book Outlet!
Buyer Beware! Deciding to exclusively give out books as Christmas gifts this year, I placed a large order with Book Outlet on the 28th of November; following a phone conversation with Book Order Customer Service whereby assurances were given that the order would be delivered WELL before Christmas. Relying on this information, and being located in a major NY hub where I typically receive packages early, it is now the 21st of December, and I am without any gifts for Christmas as my order tracking cites the package as moving from Upstate NY to Ohio and has been in Massachusetts since the 16th of December. I have written to the Book Outlet customer service whom appear to be ignoring my pleas for assistance in the matter. Way to ruin Christmas for five deserving children Book Outlet; just deplorable customer service on your end!
Bought a book for a Christmas present Received a seriously misprinted book, Entire first section duplicated. CONSTANT emailing with verification was useless, Kept receiving the same canned reply over and over and over again, thanking me for contacting them... NEVER received returned funds or replacement.

Their processing time is too slow... I am just 80 km from them, and it took a lot of time to be delivered... when I called them about their slow processing, they said if they can cancel my order! I would do if they would pay the cost of my time from the time I searched, placed my order and until I called them... I wouldn't recommend anyone to get into this site.
Today is November 14th. I ordered my books on August 29th. I still have not received my package. I went with this company because it said they had no problems shipping to an APO. After being stationed overseas for the first time I thought this would be nice to get some discounted English books. The first time I called was after an email said it was delivered, and then after week getting another email saying they had been returned. I was told the label must have been damaged. I was told it wouldn't be no time at all for them to reship it, and I would get a new email with an updated tracking number. Well after I think it was two weeks of hearing nothing I called again. I was told that my package was being processed and was being sent out that day. Still never got a new email, but was able to see the tracking number from my account with them. It said that my package was supposed to be here on the 19th of October! It's almost been a month since that delivery date. I ordered 9 books for a little over 50 dollars. At this point I have asked for my money back, but I'm not entirely sure that will happen. So hopefully this review will stop the next military family from trying to get books from them, and just use Amazon like everyone else.
My kids LOVE the paint by sticker kids books, but I didn't want to spend $8-9 each on them since we go through them so fast. Book outlet had them for $3-4 each so I thought I'd try it. Ordered 4 paint by sticker kids books, 1 my first stickers book, and 3 paint by sticker adult books (for my oldest child). I got emailed an order confirmation immediately but then a week later I still hadn't gotten a shipping confirmation. I started to get nervous that the company wasn't legit, but the very next day the whole order came! All but one of the books were in great condition - minor scuffs on the covers or corners slightly dented, but I was totally fine with that because they were just going to be mauled by my kids anyway. One of them the cover spine was slightly skewed, but these books are meant to be taken apart anyway so I don't care at all! All the stickers and pages inside are in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend this site for inexpensive kids books, as long as you're not giving them as gifts.
All of my favourite booktubers on YouTube rave about this site, so I was super-excited to give it a go. I signed up, added exactly four (4) books to my cart and proceeded to the checkout, only to discover that shipping would cost NZ$60... Excuse me?!?!? If I'd gone ahead with the purchase, it would have cost MORE than if I'd purchased the books ~brand new~ which is utterly ridiculous.
They do have an impressive range of books, but there's the possibility they're poor quality or damaged.
You'd be better borrowing books from your local library or buying them new elsewhere.

Spent well over $100 all the books in the box were tore damaged beyond repair, they told me that their policy is; if the dust jackets were tore that's normal wear & tear, i told them to renew their policy, i have bought with this company for 4 years only to get $#*!ty books back never ever will i buy a book again from them, they didn't seem to want my business anyways after 4 years not calling me back or just me leaving a message on deaf ears
I have made a ton of purchases from bookoutlet. The books are super cheap and in great condition! Also they have this reward system that saves a gon of money.
I purchased 6 books from the bargain section, under 10$ bucks each. I received my parcel only 8 days later and the books are in great condition. It is almost too good too be true! I will definitely purchase more books from this site! :)

This company sends out badly damaged books--does not refund or replace these damaged books--buy at your own risk! They take NO responsibility for the books they send that are damaged. The first photo is the dust jacket torn away on a book costing over $30.00... second was one of several damaged from being shipped in cheap boxes. The third photo is on another high end book...

- Longest shipping time ever.
- Some of the new Hardbacks are only a $1 cheaper than Amazon. Making a $5 shipping fee plus 2-3 weeks delivery not worth the hassle.
- Website regularly has issues, especially during Sales.
- If you purchase a book, they will refund you if it's suddenly not available. I put it in my cart and ordered it, but this doesn't mean you'll get it. They needed a better ordering system in terms of confirming your claim on a book.
- The point system can take over 2 weeks. Months, it can take months.
You get what you pay for. It was a nice 1-year run, but I'm going back to my used bookstore and Amazon for now on. Both are quicker and nearly similar priced in many regards.

The customer service agent was very responsive and they offered to either re-send the items or give me a refund. I didn't have to return the items. They also gave me a discount code to use for a future purchase. Overall I am satisfied with how they responded to the matter.

I have been using book outlet for about 2 years and I've never had an issue with any of my orders. Until today. I ordered two comics and ended up with a COOKBOOK and a NUTRITION BOOK. How they thought these were even related is unfathomable. I noticed that the packaging was very different from what I have received in the past so I'm wondering if they used a third party? I created a customer service ticket and await their response. I would have vouched for this company hands down, but this is extremely disappointing and I am now wary of placing further orders with them.
Well, after reading a few of the negative reviews on here I crossed my fingers and waited for my books. They were all in perfect condition and I got them a few days early. There is nothing else that could have gone better with my order. Perfect price. All books in New condition even though I bought from the "return" or whatever quality. I only wish the site had a larger selection so I could buy all my books from here.

I've ordered many dozens of books and have ALWAYS received exactly what I ordered and the books are in perfect condition. Other than a small black mark on the bottom identifying it as a book that was purchased from a bookstore that had it on the shelf too long. Never ordered the scratch and dent versions even though I could save a few dollars. It says right on the site they may be damaged. Just bought a two book series and Book Outlet only had the first book so I had to buy book 2 from Barnes and Noble. You can't tell them apart as far as quality goes. Book Outlet cost $5.39 Barnes and Noble cost $14.89.
And, I'm a Barnes and Noble paid member.

I received a book that was heavily damaged in one corner (the dust jacket had two 1" tears and was crinkled up, the cover board was scrunched in, and the last 60 pages were folded up). It was a "bargain" book, not a "scratch and dent," so it wasn't supposed to have damage.
I wanted to return the book for a refund (or exchange it if they were getting more in stock), but Book Outlet only offered a 50% refund since they didn't think the damage warranted more. They said their books are always going to have additional shelf wear, and that most companies would not take liability for products that arrive damaged. There's a big difference between normal shelf wear and actual damage, and I don't know any companies that wouldn't take full responsibility for not packing their products adequately for shipment. Seems disingenuous for a company to boast about the great condition of their books but then dismiss damage as "shelf wear" you should have expected.
They offered a full credit for the book to my Book Outlet account after multiple messages, but by then I was fed up. They have cheap prices, but if they're sending damaged books that have to be repurchased elsewhere at full price it means spending extra money and dealing with extra hassle.
Stay away! This site is a scam! I have ordered from them and then they ended up not sending the books I made the whole order for even though they were still in stock on the website. They refunded but I was still without the books I actually wanted. I tried messaging them twice and NO ONE would respond. It appears they have no customer service and pick and choose what to send you. There are MUCH better book sites out there to purchase from that actually have a customer service. This is the worst book buying site I have used and I am an avid book buyer so have used them all.

Boom asked my 16 year old daughter to advertise on her makeup site for their company for a discount on their products. Not only was my credit card charged she never got the products that she ordered. Emailed them multiply times to hear (sorry mailing them out) and still nothing. I think this company is a SCAM!
