The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

We have booked tickets to LasVegas & we couldn't secure a US visa before our travel date, our travel is on 15/10/2022, and we are chasing Booking.com ticketing partners GO TO GATE customer care for 40 days to give us vouchers or refunds. We also requested to book later dates as we paid $600 for the Flexi option but they are asking for $2000 extra for a fare difference, but we can see clearly in booing.com tickets for the same price as paid but they can't book it. Bookig.com or GO TO GATE is not worried about the customers or their emotions, they want to loot customer money & they are avoiding our calls & not giving a callback or passing the call to the manager. NEVER BOOK FLIGHTS FROM BOOKING.COM OR GO TO GATE they are terrible & they play with the customer's emotions.
Had a trip planned for 20th anniversary! Paid for the tickets 6 months in advance. Every Email I received flight was confirmed. Get to the airport no longer have a flight for me and my wife! Called, called! No help. Tried to cancel Reservation At the Resort in Punta Cana. No refund! Thanks for taking $3600 of my money to not do a damn thing except ruined my 20th Anniversary.
Horrible customer service. I was left stranded in a different country without a flight to my destination due to an error that booking.com made. Instead of acknowledging their error and helping me find a solution they refused to help me find a new flight or a hotel for the night, they left me on hold for hours, AND they refused to reimburse me for the flight I could not board due to their error. Customer service was unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. I will NEVER book with them again and will discourage others from using their services as well.
Fairly easy to use to make reservations, but customer service is extremely difficult to get in touch with, and not terribly helpful once reached.
We had to cancel a hotel we booked through Booking.com and no refund after nearly two months. I requested them to resend confirmation with 5 times and nothing. Contacted Customer Service and sent them my reservation information 3 times to try and get them assist. All I got was another email requesting the same information. No 1-800 number. This is the second cancellation issue with them with zero customer service. I had been using them since I got points with Southwest Airlines, but will not use Booking again.
Booked a car for Europe and when we got there they said the car had been canceled! Had to pay for another car. Booking.com will not refund the money we had paid them one month prior to trip! Awful customer relations... we NEVER use them again!
Simply by the user friendliness of their mobile apps/website, I would recommend Booking.com to my friends/family. However, I have no choice but to rate 1 star because I can confirm that you cannot be rest assured that your credit card is safe while using Booking.com. Just last month, total of 7 unauthorized usage of my credit card happened on same day (2 days after I used the same card to book a stay via their mobile apps). I can confirm because the first 10-digits transaction reference number of the unauthorized transactions are identical to the transaction that approved for Booking.com.
I have booked for a hotel through booking.com when I have turned up at the hotel they said no reservations are available. On top of that the next day they have charged the full amount on my card. Though many communications has been done the amount is not refunded and given irresponsible responses after may days. Never do the booking through booking.com
They are liars, and not accountable. Very poor service. They are basically a middle man providing zero service. Instead, they waste your time by providing wrong information and limit your options to change a reservation.
They provide very poor service, and at the same time, you get limited if you book through their website, as any changes you want to make to your booking has to go through them, then they eco it to the property, then the property decides, and Booking.com never notifies you about it.
Would have given them 0 stars if I could.
They promised me partial refund for 1 person's breakfast. They made the primise twice, two different agents made that promise on the phone when I called them two separate times. They told me in 2 weeks the property will refund me for that. It did not happened. I asked the agents who promised the definite refund to me, to send me an email confirming the partial refund, they said they did so and I never received an email. They assured me that there would be no problem if I ever follow up, and there is no need to have that email anyways. Now that I followed up after two weeks, they ask for the email proof. I would never use their website again.
I called them more than 4 times. They wasted my time for a total of 3 hours, and finally told me that the property does not accept to refund. I asked them to be responsible for what their agents promised me and process the refund from their end, and they refused to do so.
I booked an 8-day stay for a large apartment in Paris, for over $6000. They charged me the rent TWICE, claiming that my card was invalid. Then, they threatened to cancel at the last moment if I didn't pay a 500 euro deposit. I paid that three times--again, "invalid card." But after I arrived they cancelled the reservation, I succeeded in getting the $12,000 back, but not the $1500. The basic problem seems to be that this site is happy to deal with fraudsters who claim to be property owners.
The worse property I ever booked in my life. It was not cleaned although the apartment was remodelled pictures were deceiving. Area not safe and owner is the property in another country. Had booked for 2 nights, couldn't even stay there. I took photos of garbage piles, dirty towels, bed sheets Sandy dirty floor etc. When I phoned Booking.com I said I cannot stay here, I need to find me another hotel room. They sent me one it was double the price! I'm done with these scammers! Never use them always looking to steal money.,
If you use this service, make sure you read the fine print because they charge you for things you don't need to pay for and will not issue a refund. Also, they say they talked to you which they haven't and then they say they sent you an email they didn't until I got angry about it. I would never use this so-called company EVER!
Do NOT order anything from booking. There are some hotels that are literally dangerous. They don't have any check-up system to make sure you aren't booking a scam. It's unlikely that you'll see any of your many if you got scammed.
Booking.com advertises Sam Mateo Gold Coast apartments with "Free Internet" This is lying to the public as they have a limited free Internet and after use guests have to puchase further internet from a Company called " Freedom Internet" Australian $49. I believe this is False advertising and would not have stayed there if Booking.Com had provided honest information. Whilst currently a level 3 Genius user of Booking.com we will not use them again and encourage others to book direct with properties. Tried to get Booking.com NZ to change information but they were very unhelpfull. Zero stars would be more appropriate.
I did a reservation through Bookings. Com. Using their wallet credits. I had to go to a more expensive hotel for this reason, which, by the way, was worse, and as per my surprise I was later charged to my credit card. I have been trying for them to reimburse that money to my credit card and after a lot of very frustrating calls with bad customer service and unsuccesfully trying to talk to a manager, still no resolution. They just reimbursed again to the credit wallet, so now I have there extra money that was paid by my credit card and I do not want to use that credits again as I am afraid they will again charge my credit card. The hotel blames bookings, and booking blame the hotel. Worse service ever. Be careful!.
I have always use booking.com earlier, but this experience has been changed to a lot worse - from technical problems, to possible security phishing fraud. Hear my story and stay away:
My family got a place to stay, then the place has been cancelled just 2 days before our trip started without any notice. I tried to contact customer service, and the owner provided an alternative url to re-book, outside the booking.com system. I have to re-enter my bank card info, then I have to confirm multifactor authentication from my app on my phone, then they asked me to give away my personal bank password. For your info, the personal password from the bank is the last defense of your bank account, your ID, and you should guard it with your life. It looks like a scam for me, and this is how security phishing is working. Travelers, please stay away if you want to keep your id secure.
For Booking.com if you are reading this. How can you let one of the best service become a night mare like this? The contact info and the mean to contact was buried deep into the web menu system. I was able to speak with your customer support. They promised a lot, but after hang up, no follow up, chat is not working, nothing can be sent through email. Called again, they put me on hold, and hang up after 14 min. Call again to hear a voice message that phone line is not available. Today's technology is better than ever, systems hosting on the cloud are NEVER down. This cannot be good, and can only understand as scam.
I waited for two months for my agreed before refund and after a lot of calls to hotel and then to Booking.com, after uploading the Bank statement as I have been asked k in the email, they said that cannot give me a refund as I have to provide some proof of payment with currency on it. They did not know what can be a proof, just something. But obviously, if hotel took money from your account because you provided your bank details to the Booking.com the only proof that you have is a bank statement.
I thought Booking.com is reliable company but I lost £475 which has been promised to be paid by two months and has been agreed to be paid before I made cancelation.
I booked a flight+ hotel package and arrived to find only one night in the hotel was booked: my last night. What a disaster. Do not trust their packages under any circumstances
Do not use this site. You get hell getting your money back. I've had customer service reps trying to scam me into paying them money. Worst experience I've ever had! I booked a hotel thru this site and the hotel failed to honor the booking but still took my money! It's ridiculous. They know I didn't stay at this hotel and it's been more than 30 days and my money still has not been returned. The hotel said they gave me the money back and this money hungry site is full of it! Do yourself a favor and do not use them. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
Just checked in to the Ruskin Inn and was greeted with the most horrible disrespectful rude manager that I have ever dealt with explain to me that he deserved two parking spots and I should walk and carry my bags from the rear of the building he also explained that he's been here for 2 days because of the hurricane and I should feel sorry for him
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
