Not Impressed

I'll start off by saying that I stayed far away from this site based on other reviews until I won a $50 credit. I figured I would order something that was $50 so that in case something happened, I wouldn't be throwing away my own money (I did have to pay tax so I did dish out about $11).

My experience was very similar to other reviewers. I ordered the item on October 12th and just received it Monday (November 30th)! Over a month of waiting and there's really no way to track the order. The site mentioned it would take 2-3 weeks for the item to ship to them, I waited 7 (FYI I was shipping to Toronto). I had chatted multiple times with Customer Service (I don't think I was on hold for less than 20 minutes at a time) who gave me the run around, "Your item is on it's way." Not the most helpful people.

Finally my item arrived. I ordered a leather crossbody bag - the quality is awful. The front of the purse has a gold bow which arrived all scratched, the stitching is coming apart and the quality of the leather is horrible (I obviously wasn't expecting real leather, but figured it would at least be material that is SOMEWHAT durable). Definitely not what they set out to make it seem.

This is the first and last time I'll be using BeyondTheRack. I had a slight ray of hope that my experience would be different but of course, I was left very unimpressed.

Horrible experience
November 28, 2015

I ordered a pair of boots in mid October, phoned about ordered and just got the run around. Not in then emailed stateing sorry given wrong info that they were coming in the wear house and after quality control will be receiving a tracking number. After a week cancelled order. They just blowing smoke whenever you called! Never again

I have been waiting for ten days to find out when my chair will be shipped. It turns out that the delivery window of November 15 to 20 Was absurd. To date I do not have even have tracking. ( it shows the supplier created a label but it has not moved or changed since November 9). Every customer service individual is surly and tempered with me. Likey because they don't have any information either. This will be my last purchase with BTR. Next time I'll go to UrbanBarn in store... I AM very dissatisfied with the lack of communication. And level of communication from this business to its customers.

I placed an order for a watch on October 25th. At time of order it was to be shipped by November 16th. After November 16th they just tell me my order is "On Track". I'm assuming this means that they don't know where it is, or are unable to acquire my watch. It's just so disappointing...
I will wait to see if may watch does come, but seeing as how it has been a month and still no sign of the watch, I expect to be getting a refund. Extremely inefficient... Will definitely be cancelling my membership after this.

**Update - November 27th.
I called them twice since my review, I was told the first time that they did have the watch and it would be sent out for delivery the next day, well I checked the next day and it was still "On Track"...

Very inconvenient as I am planning on being out of town for most of the month of December and will most likely not receive my purchase.

It's a very sad state of affairs when one can't rely on receiving a purchase within a month of ordering...

***Another update; after one more phone call I have been told that the merchandise was actually not ever received by Beyond the Rack... I am getting a refund, but if I had known this was going to happen I would have purchased a watch elsewhere.

I bought my wife a Prada bag on 10/4, as one can note today is 11/20 no bag no refund. That being said, this is coming after at least half a dozen phone calls with customer service and their supervisors. This is after the shipping company that the only one they use and seems having hard time to track packages first said they tracked it on truck, then called back and said they lost it. And the very best was that they called back yet again few days after to say it was delivered. Really? Delivered? To whom? Did you not say you lost it and will be issuing a refund? Now the company is investigating this? Investigating yourself? Folks stay away, and do not waste your money here. This is a trap and a fraud. This will be reported further and needs to be shut out of the US market.

I ordered some Sperry Top-Sider shoes on the site 17 days ago. The company processed my order, charged my credit card and sent an email stating they would update me when the item was shipping. This morning I got an email stating that they could not fulfil my order and that I was to be refunded. I had already promised the shoes as a gift to my cousin for her birthday and had given her a picture telling her they were on the way. BTR apologized but said their supplier could not meet the order, my question is why are you charging the card and processing the transaction as if it is a done deal (which it would be on every other site - I have never run into this on any site where I have paid and had the order reversed weeks later).

In the past I have ordered things that are much lower quality than stated - sun blocking curtains are anything but and shoes are heavy direct from china. I had also bought a pair of brand name sunglasses once that were most definitely fake.

All that aside I found the site ok for some things but after this last experience I will NOT be using them again and I highly recommend caution if you use their site. There may be good deals to be had but they are sneaky in their practices and what you order/pay for you might not get.

I would give 0 stars if that were an option

Unfortunately, there is no way for us to predetermine if a supplier will short ship us on the inventory we were promised. Therefore, occasionally, we do find out that certain items cannot be shipped. We do understand your frustration during this matter, and would like to take a moment to explain to you the process of Beyond the Rack.
Due to the fact that we are not a retailer and with the nature of our business model, we do not carry stock in our warehouse.
We charge your card when your order is processed as these orders are placed directly with our suppliers. This is one of the ways in which we are able to offer you such discounted prices. We only authorize our suppliers to send us their merchandise once the event closes, at which point we know exactly what to order for our membership as a whole. As a private shopping club, we are ordering select merchandise on your behalf. Working this way helps us secure great prices and selection for our members on an on-going basis, which is what BTR is all about.
Upon receipt of your order, our suppliers ship the purchased items to our warehouse for inspection and inventory confirmation of the merchandise. Once this process is completed, we prepare to ship to our customers.
Unfortunately, there is often times (occurs only in 4% of orders) when we’re unsuccessful in securing the merchandise you ordered, and only as a last case scenario will we need to issue a refund.

FAKE STUFFS

We bought 4 "BURBERRY" shirts and 1"BURBERRY" polo, ALL FAKE!
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
I have real ones at home and you can see it right away that they re not the same. I brought them to the store, and the seller told us that we spent Our money on fake stuffs.

I have ordered three items in the last 4 months. The first item took almost a month before it even shipped and then arrived two weeks AFTER that. The 2nd contained two items that I ordered in early October. I just received one today (mid Nov) and the other one I am told just shipped and should be here within 13-15 days. That means if you want to order something from them for Christmas presents, you can forget it. I do 90% of my shopping online but BTR goes to the bottom of that list now.

I ordered items from beyond the rack in the middle of September and it's now the middle of Novemeber and it hasn't even been shipped. Beyond the rack has been getting worse and worse over the years and it's time to find a new site to order off of.

I have had the worst service with them after 7 weeks of waiting for them to contact me and let me know about the shipping I decided to contact them. To find out that they didn't have supplies left for the order that I made. They never took the time to email me and notify about the problem. What type of service is this?

BEWARE OF FAKE PRICES!

I have shopped from beyond the rack several times, and other than the fact that the shoes I ordered were not the right size, and not one, but two of the items I received were damaged, I have recently noticed that the website lies about the original item prices to entice customers into buying more. Because you think you're getting an amazing deal. 90% off? Yeah right! I first noticed this with a Vero Moda scarf I bought- original price advertised as $125. However, the price tag on the scarf said it was only $35 (I also checked online). I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was a mistake, but since then I've been checking product prices online and you wouldnt believe how many of their products list false original prices. For instance, a pair of Dawgs boots listed as $300 discounted to $40, upon further inspection, turn out to actually be $90 (as listed on the Dawgs website). This is not the first time I've noticed BTR listing the wrong price, and as always, listed as much higher than it really is. The blatant dishonesty makes me feel so cheated. Moreover, I ordered a pair of men's Clarks shoes, and upon opening the package, I noticed the soles had come off, with what looked like superglue on the bottom. It looked cheap, leading me to believe they were not really Clarks, as the quality was not what I've come to expect from Clarks shoes. BEWARE!

I have been shopping with beyond the rack for the past 2-3 years. I'm am unsure if the site is under a new owner, but over the past year, my opinion has plummeted. My orders have gone from 2-3 week delivery to over a month in waiting time. Their shipping faq's still say "2 - 3 weeks" for delivery, but as soon as your order has gone past that point, you account notification changes. It says you items are "still on track", but it still take another 2 weeks to receive them. When I speak with a representative, they do not take responsibility. The most they offer me is $10 credit.

I am very disappointed, the shipping times have been dishonest and they no longer refund orders. I'm hoping to use my credit as soon as possible and cut ties with the website. I will not be recommending it to any of my colleagues anymore

Ordered an item and waited 3 weeks before they tell me the item is unavailable. They give me a $10 credit, I attempted to order another item. 2 months later the item is still not even at the beyond the rack site for shipment. Customer service on the phone was nice. Emails were generic until I flipped out and the unacceptable response. I have since emailed 2 times and have not received a reply. I then called and got a hold of an agent straight away who said it was held up at customs. My order still says, "on track." I requested a refund and am waiting for that to be approved. This site used to be fantastic. So disappointed.

I ORDERED A VERSACE SPORTIVO BAG FOR $120, THEY SAID THE PRICE WAS OVER $300, IT TOOK ONE MONTH BEFORE IT ARRIVED AND GUESS WHAT IT IS FAKE, YES FROM CHINA, IF I WANTED A FAKE BAG I ONLY HAD TO GO TO ONE OF THOSE CHINESE STORE IN MONTEAL AND GET ONE FOR LESS THAN $50 AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN BETTER, THE SHOES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE OLIVIA MILLER BUT GUESS WHAT NO NAME ON IT AND IT'S PLASTIC INSTEAD OF LEATHER.
MY MEDIUM SIZE SHIRT CAME AS EXTRA SMALL, OVERALL EVERYTHING BUT ONE ITEM WAS DISAPOINTING.
I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GOT MY FULL CC REFUND EMAIL, WILL BE RETURNING IT TO THEIR MONTREAL WAREHOUSE.
I DONT THINK I WILL ORDER FROM BTR ANYMORE.

I placed an order september 20th, it was supposed to be shipped in the first half of october and I'm still waiting for. I try 2 times to contact the customer service (by email) but I thinks it's there is nobody on the other side... Stay away from this website.

Poor customer service
November 5, 2015

I can't get a refund so resorting to this forum. They are dodging me. Won't refund my credit card or send the e-mails they promise. I have a credit with them from an item that they could not produce. I want my money back not a credit. It takes weeks to get the merchandise, quality is poor. And now they won't give my money back on an item they can't deliver. I don't care that it was purchased with their store credit form returned low quality merchandise. I will never buy from them again. Terrible service

Worst company ever

I ordered a designer bag and shoes a month-and-a-half ago. I contacted them several times, to see why the delay in shipping and they never returned my calls/emails. I spent over $4000. 00 and this is how they treat customers. I mean we should all be treated the same. Whether we spend $40 or $4000. I cancelled my order and that took another 2 months. Don't shop here.

STAY AWAY!

I bought 3 bags from them. First was a YSL clutch- they sent me a totally wrong bag a patent bright blue instead of the leather navy color they were showing on the site. After 3 attempts of emails they told me to send it back and they would refund my money. I thought they are not trying to sell counterfeits but they have a bad system. Then I got a prada bag from them as it was a great deal. And then a celine trotteur bag. When I got the prada one I was so happy. But when I received the Celine I was sure I was holding a fake bag. I did research and the celine mark on the bag was way off. So I contacted them they said I can return for full refund. The bag was also smelling weird like chemicals... As I got suspicious I took out the Prada bag. I have a Prada wallet and it was a very well made counterfeit so I didn't realize that its fake till I go to NM and got the same bag from them. Its totally a counterfeit. I can show differences with photos etc. Please don't buy from them. You can either find a very good deal from rue la la, Gilt or Century 21 or even Saks.com.
