ask.com is a great alternative to google. I would reccomend ask to anyone looking for something that is difficult to find on google. Ask.com is also great for educational material, they have a fact of the day which i have learned many intresting and wierd facts from. ask.com is good if you would like to search the answer to a question, as you can type the question into the search box instead of one or two words of it, however you might prefer trying yahoo answers first.
In conclusion, ask.com is a good alternative to google however when compared to google ask.com is not amazing.
Thanks for reading my review.

A few days back I was reading some comment from the man who owns the company which owns Ask, also known as Ask Jeeves in the UK, whence it originates. The gist of it was, that if asked were he considering selling the service, he would reply that it had no value to him, so why would it have value to anyone else?
It's a shame, because Ask isn't appallingly slow or inaccurate and can do well up against Google. For example I chose an entirely random keyword, "lemoncello", to do a search on both Google and Ask. Ask correctly returned the most likely subject of my search, which is limoncello, the drink, but also included results about Lemoncello, the Scottish runner. Given that the latter was what I had actually typed, I think Ask offered me the right balance between what I'd asked for, and what it thought I might have meant. On the other hand, Google decided that I'd made a typo and offered me only the drink, not the sportsman, but with an option to choose at the top of the page, and Bing didn't know anything about the sportsman anyway. I preferred the way Ask thought on this one, and it returned results of equal relevance and at equal speed. It looks good, too, somewhere between the minimalism of Google and the glamour of Bing.
I think in the end there will be room for only one search engine, and this isn't going to be it. The original philosophy was fine - ask a question and get an answer, as opposed to just looking something up - but it didn't catch on. Google tapped into the zeitgeist and Ask Jeeves didn't, but not for want of trying.
This site is very similar to google. It works well, and it is a great alternative to search for information. I have found this site useful.
Sometimes they have the answer, but sometimes its just not a great answer.
Every time I have searched for an answer to my questions, Voila there it is.
It's pretty good, as compared to some other search engines I've tried. However, it can't hold a candle to Google. I've found it to be particularly lacking in terms of pictures. Google should definitely be your 1st choice.
What the $#*! is wrong with this dumb $#*! site! I am seriously wanting to sue this site. The don't answer your questions, and every time you ask a question stupid $#*! that is not on topic comes up! Like what the $#*!! Stupid $#*! like this happens all the time! Don't go to this site and waste your time. There are tons of ads that try to get you and hack you, and it's almost like they don't try to work on the site. And when I say every time, I mean EVERY TIME! Your question will not be answered. And if so, it won't really help. Go try for yourself. But I am telling you, don't go to this site. It is a waste of my time, and it will be a waste of your time
I went to ask.com and i needed to ask a question so i registered there it took about 1 hour to register there and then i asked a question it was a good one, And you know what the website did, they didn't know the answer probably so they deleted my question... I was like what the **** Never visit that site, its the worse ever i'd say
I was happily using google. But then this showed up. I decided to give it a chance. I tried to get it to find a simple website. But it didn't work. I tried again and again it didn't work. I would not recommend it.
First, I take issue with any company that installs software on my computer without my permission. Second, it resets my home page and search engines periodically. Third, it is impossible to get off your computer. I tried Revo Uninstaller, and Ask.com jammed it for over 1/2 hour. I tried to uninstall it through Windows Uninstaller (My Computer) and, although you allegedly uninstalled it, it is still there. It shows no traces anywhere on the computer in programs and does not show on the uninstall list. In essence, it is like a plague.
I am very upset with Ask.com. They somehow hacked into my search engine, and now when I click on Chrome, I have to search on ask. I highly despise Ask, and how they got into my laptop. I would never recommend Ask.com to anyone! I only gave it one star because I could not put zero. STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE! > :(

The ask.com Toolbar distributes like the plague. It comes e.g. with avira and java etc.
The ask.com toolbar shows a non-closeable popup. And it hangs firefox.
During install the firewall shows five (!) programms related to ask.com having internet-access!
Wish I had never installed it!
I hate that Ask.com is the default search engine in my address bar. It is useless and the results stink. They need to just stop... now!
I want to have the google search engine when I open up crome but I keep getting the one that is powered by ask and I tried several times to make crome my home search engine Either fix it or get out of the way ask
We, a family of four, visited Wells Ask and were served by Lydia - from the moment we arrived she was helpful, polite, efficient and friendly - thank you Lydia- I hope Management passed on our thanks Mcbolton
Ask.com is not completely useless. Actually it has a lot of insightful search results that might not be prioritized by the popular search engines.
Answer: They are now going to compete with yahoo answers instead? I have never even used ask.com. Do you think they are worthwhile?
