I'm not sure what you mean? Mind you I'm not sure what they intend, really, it sounds a bit vague. I do think it's a shame, because there was nothing whatever wrong with the Ask search. Any more than there's anything wrong with the Opera browser, which outperforms others and looks fantastic but still can't get a fair share of the market. Internet Explorer and Google reign, and that's that.

Im not sure whether they are talking about a Y! Answers clone, because their original concept was to answer human questions with artificial intelligence in the past, and I assumed that's what they were now going to develop. I think one Yahoo Answers in the English-speaking world is probably enough, myself.

Ask.com just dropped out of the search market, laying off 400 staff. No big surprise, but still disappointing. Competition is good for most markets but Google looks unbeatable in theirs.

They are now going to compete with yahoo answers instead? I have never even used ask.com. Do you think they are worthwhile?
