I have tried ordering goods via Argos on several occasions over the past 12 months. The website offers options to purchase goods but when selected you are informed they are not in stock or cannot be delivered or collected. What is the point? I shall avoid using them again and will revert to Amazon!
Terrible attitude and aggressive manner shown from the manager in the Argos Oban store. Her after care to customers is dreadful. We had a bad experience from her today when returning a defective item which is still under guarantee. We were told categorically we cannot have this replaced but to send the defective item (we bought in good faith) to be repaired now having to wait for two weeks! She also didn't provide us with any receipt paperwork for this return, we had to go back to ask for this… how amateur! Beware folks buying from this store. Zero stars
Wanted to buy a new smoke alarm and went online, found one and put all my payment details in and pressed ‘pay now' and a message came up saying there was a problem. However, they still took my money! The same thing happened to me in September and it took ages to get a refund. Argos customer service is so bad and I'm not sure I can trust them anymore. Ended up buying from Amazon.
In my opinion you judge a company by how it deals with things when they inevitably go wrong. Any half decent company has the majority of its transactions flow smoothly.
I have bought from Argos on many occasions previously and had no problems whatsoever.
My latest attempted purchase of a lawn mower was a very different process. Having taken my money I still hadn't received my purchase two weeks later. Trying to contact customer service and find someone prepared to take ownership of the problem. In the end I contacted my credit card company. My money was refunded.
I ordered a t shirt online and paid for it then went to collect it. I was only in the sunderland high street store five minutes at the most the service was friendly, professional and very speedy well done
Argos.co.uk is a wonderful website which will always helps you to give the items which have orderd, and it particularly gives all types of products which almost all offer mainly good value for money in all aspects. They will deliver the products on right time.
Hmmmm where to start?! See what you want, do the search for your closest store ( and surrounding 50 mile radius) guess what folks... "Out of stock"! Grrrr seriously frustrating accept on the 2 occasions I selected an item that was in stock I had to return them due to shoddy workmanship (corner smashed on a coffee table because it was pine and had a wood knot close to the edge) and just failing to work (novelty light for daughter) I have given a 2 star review only because when I returned the items the staff in store were friendly and helpful.
Hense i have ceased to even click the Argos link while shopping
Argos - UK's Largest Catalogue Merchant
Argos is the largest general goods retailer in the UK it has over 750 stores around the country. It sells goods as a catalogue merchant if you go to the store you enter a catalogue number on a slip of paper, check it's available, then wait for the item to be brought to you from the warehouse.
They also have a pretty good online store where you can buy and have stuff delivered to your home (usually extra charge) or just order for pick up at your nearest store. They have customer reviews online and they keep both positive and negative comments so you get a fair idea of what you are buying.
Argos has been in the UK since 1973 and is one of the main discount retailers. It sell branded goods, own brand goods from cheap and cheerful to mid range / good quality. Their twice a year telephone directory sized catalogues must use up half of Scandinavia's forest land to produce.
I use the website to check prices against other suppliers. Sometimes it is surprisingly competitive, and if you know what you are after it is often the best place to go.
In the last year I've bought a camera, a barbecue and some self assembly furniture from them. Very efficient, good prices and I am quite happy.
I'm not sure I'd buy their cheaper own brand electronics stuff but then 'ye pays yer money and takes yer chance' If you want a fancy radio for half the price of another main brand it might not be as good. Caveat emptor let the buyer beware.

Generally good.
Nice selection of items, but the delivery options are poor.
Not many people can wait all day or even half a day.
I'm actually on the line waiting for them to answer. 3 weeks later haven't heard about my order. Of course i called before but they kept saying that they have no info and that the "supplier" will contact me, strange thing that when you pay, you pay to argos...
Anyway, I understand now the bad reviews and those who gave 5 stars are completely lucky they've got their order.
I advise you to go always for collection (where rarely are problems), if you looking for an item to be delivered... look somewhere else... I wish I knew.
Don't bother chatting with the unprofessional staff... you'll just waste your time, oh, if you think you'll call them, think twice, I'm still on the line 40 min later and keep ringing...
Argos, pls don't reply to my review, don't even bother. Rather then reply reviews, answer the people's
I asked Sarah Little to delete all my details, she refused! Is this Not Identity Theft? I have had many things from Argos, Cooker lasted just over 12 months [waist of time] one of the rings gave up the ghost after a very short time. Now it seems to take for ever for the rest of the rings to heat up. If you buy any jewellery, It may be a very good idea to look at it first. I have bought many things for the wives birthdays & so on only to see her disappointed face when she opens the box. Clasps very week, items very small [in the catalog they look great. Most worrying is Argos as all your most personal details your address, your date of birth & so on. All this information can be sold on to create credit fraud. The Fraud in this country is getting worse by the Day, be careful you are not one of them. They refused to take my D. O. B. From my details, is this not Identity Theft?
Spoke to Gillian from complaints regarding a bush dishwasher ordered from Argos in November I have been waiting since then to receive the parts to attach the dishwasher. She rudely told me the appliance doesn't come with the parts and this has been confirmed by her manager Mike from the resolutions team. On the Argos website it clearly states it comes with this part. She refused to discuss it and terminated m chat. Breach of contract and an utter disgrace to Argos allowing their staff and management to lie and dismiss customers who have entered into a contract with them and taken their money from them without despatching the items included in the sale
Online ordering is a mess. Shop staff disinterested. Goods do not arrive when they should and returning often faulty goods has become a nightmare for customers. Goods lost, delivery drivers do not arrive, delivery companies constantly lying and giving fake reasons for not turning up ( lost paperwork, system down, driver shortages, package lost in system etc) we have heard them all. Such a load of liars. Does Boris Johnson run the delivery side of this outfit?

Be careful ordering Jewelry
Bought a Necklace (as a Christmas gift for my daughter) which was pictured in a posh Jewelry case. In the description, it said comes with the case. It came in a cheap tacky bag. I started a chatbox, and the agent told me that was only subject to availability - (which was not in the description). I was told it would have to be returned to a store that is miles away, and I have now got to make time for + pay for train fares. There was no option of courier barcode-like some very good online places do Just awful. We have 2 other necklaces coming, and now I fear they won't be in boxes either. Isn't this misleading advertising? The Agent said, for complaints, I need to post, but it's all-time and money, and I probably won't end up complaining or spending a morning traveling to take them back. Very cold, seemingly uncaring, customer service too.
The photos of the advertised product and received product are below
I ADVISE NEVER TO SHOP AT ARGOS!
Order *******584 was delivered and the product 462/6930 was damaged. Had a chat with a representative. Refund was issued and received an SMS. Then the chat broke, since everything was confirmed and an SMS was sent I was expecting a refund to my account. Waited a month and got no refund. Contacted Customer Service and was told that it was not confirmed and the SMS was sent out of their control. Who sends the SMS. Never rely on Argos. Everything was confirmed. Never shopping there again!
Just dont ever buy anything online for delivery. I spent 3 days waiting in for a fridge to come that never turned up. When it doesnt turn up you just have to wait and hope that someone calls you to arrange another date. Customer service can do nothing to arrange the delivery they are totally pointless. I would avoid at all costs
Ordered several Tu items of footwear for my three-year old through Argos click and collect at Sainsbury. I had to return a few of these back to Argos via the same store. My refund never arrived. I had to spend close to one hour on the live chat to attempt to get back the money rightfully owed to me. And even then when the refund eventually came through it was short of £12. I then had to attempt live chat again, which because of the appalling system just kept getting rejected. I persisted and one hour later I have been told I will get my owing £12 – time is to tell on that. At no point was there an apology for the inconvenience. If you don't mind wasting hours of your life trying to claim back refunds, then go ahead and shop with this store. I certainly won't shop with them again
Appalled at the level of customer service at Argos Oban store. I purchased a new vacuum yesterday which is obviously faulty. Took it back today however the staff and management were very dismissive and refused to refund or replace. I would not recommend Argos and will not be returning
Wont take tablet back which all other retailer do take back. Telephonic customer care said its on store desecration to decide if they take it back. Asked me to try different Argos stores.
Should have ordered on amazon who provide free return.
Consumer rights are not respected at Argos..
Ordering on Argos is so easy. I chose my products online, compare prices, make my final choice and reserve them for collection in store. Then in store I type the reservation number on the automated machine, pay with my debit card, the machine gives me a ticket. And 3 minutes later I am called to the dispatch desk to collect my goods. Is there an easiest purchase method than this one?! Super great, super easy, super simple. I love it!
Answer: No, because they may not honour guarantees and it would appear their after sales support is zero
Argos has a rating of 1.6 stars from 139 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Argos most frequently mention customer service, consumer rights and order number. Argos ranks 785th among Electronics sites.
