Easy to purchase from but absolute nightmare to return anything. Purchased a television from them earlier this year that isn't fit for purpose but can't get it repaired or return it.
Dreadful company to deal with.
Concrete came over 2 hours late and was 2 yards short of what I order! When I complained to dispatch they told me I could BUY more… Very disappointed! My slab looks like $#*!. Had it been delivered on time and the correct amount I wouldn't be in this situation… Rain caught us and washed out 2/3's of my 10 yards..
It seems that Argos have stopped collections for return items. They expect us to store items indefinitely until the end of the Covo crisis. It was only when I went onto the Argos site that I only then found out about the storage issue; they don't tell you about this when you order. We ordered a Spear & Jackson S2434CR lawn mower which had a defect in manufacture but this is a bulky item to store. They seem to be determined to stop anyone contacting them about this. Telephoning is impossible and they send an automatic reply to emails saying that they don't look at them! If you are thinking of ordering a large item, as we did, think do you have room to store it.
Just paid £199 for a camcorder to get a message saying your payment will be refunded within 7days, payments can take up to 30 days, lve gone onto live chat which said enter a order number which l have not received, when l finally got through they said it might not be in stock, if l had paid with paypal it takes 30 days to get your money back, reporting to ombudsman and argos l will never trade with you again
Terrible customer service and all around quality. I bought an item that was listed at the sale price, and was still charged the full amount. When I contacted customer service and they finally responded, they told me that the sale price was over despite it being still listed on their site when I bought the item. I sent them a screenshot of the listed price when I bought the item and they refused to refund me the price and instead left my only option to cancel the item. I truly will not be shopping here again, not worth it! Rude customer service
Booked and paid for a delivery slot. I got an email on the day saying my item was on the lorry and on its way. Then twelve minutes later I received a text saying they couldn't make the booked slot time and that it would be with my sometime before 1800. Called the Helpline as, having taken the morning off work, I could not guarantee that I would be home to receive the item in the afternoon. I was assured it was in the truck on the way and that the delivery guys would give me a call one hour in advance of their arrival, perhaps allowing me time to get home and receive the item. Two hours later I received a text saying it wouldn't be delivered that day. Spent an hour on hold before speaking to someone on the Helpline to be told a) the next delivery slot I could have was a week away, and b) there was a stock issue with the item, i.e. They didn't actually have it in stock! So, they seemed happy to take payment for an item they didn't have in stock, and for a delivery slot that was irrelevant, and send my updates that were blatantly untrue. I cancelled the order - I need a washing machine not lousy customer service.
They didnt replace my damaged item though I bought 3 year replacement card by paying extra. And they are holding me on call for the ages and disconnecting the call after 1 - 2 hrs when I make the complaint. They are playing tricks with the customers. They robbing money from the customers
If you take your item out of the packet to look at they term it as used and won't refund it. This has now happened to me twice.
The staff are very aggressive.
A poor lady tried to exchange her phone because she couldn't hear it, she was told it was used and they wouldn't even exchange.
Won't use them again.
Just gave them over 1.5k and been bumped from a unexperienced and lazy chat operator who did not help at all indeed, even after asking 5 times did not gave me his name to complaint...
No more orders...
Their websites had a few issues and now I am delivering late an order for a silly lazy and coward operator...
Wow...
Last order with you
And a big fxxx u [A: James]
Go to clean toilet no to talk to people as you have no skills and so rude even during this times...
Wow, can't believe a huge company like them wastes their money with people like you... it would be better to burn it rather than pay u as ur service is below zero...
Clown james;-) and thanks to your rude service Argos get 1 star review congrats rude boy you will get in touch with your manager...
Enjoy;-)
Hmmmm where to start?! See what you want, do the search for your closest store ( and surrounding 50 mile radius) guess what folks... "Out of stock"! Grrrr seriously frustrating accept on the 2 occasions I selected an item that was in stock I had to return them due to shoddy workmanship (corner smashed on a coffee table because it was pine and had a wood knot close to the edge) and just failing to work (novelty light for daughter) I have given a 2 star review only because when I returned the items the staff in store were friendly and helpful.
Hense i have ceased to even click the Argos link while shopping
Arose currently advertising that they sell SIM Free Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G 512GB Mobile Phone–Black 202/1960 for £549 I tried every location locally but nowhere had it. I contacted customer service advice I was prepared to travel to any location to purchase and collect. Their response was we can't check stop. I emailed their head office same response. I attempted to check each region to determine where the phone could be collected without success. 2 months later the phone is still advertised and still no where stocks it. Argos need to get their act together.
My son purchased a laptop from Argos Mansfield in August. The laptop has developed a fault, so we went back to the store with the receipt to sort it out. We were advised that the company policy is that WE the customer have to phone lenovo to obtain a reference number to then go back to store, the store call lenovo to corroborate it's a valid ref number for the store then to send it away for repair! Also whilst all of this is happening, my son is unable to use the laptop for his studdies... i purchased the laptop from Argos not Lenovo, where are my consumer rights in all of this? How is this practice ethical? Never again will i spend a penny with Argos,,,,,,,
Ordered a washing machine - all other on line companies offer next day or 3-4day deliery. Argos offered me the earliest slot of 17 days. I was going away for 7 days so decided I could live with the wait and at least I'd have all my holiday clothes to test it on. 2 days before delivery they magically changed my slot to another 18 days out and asked me to confirm this was ok. 35 days wait for a ashing machine. What a joke. I cancelled. Now waiting for my money back - they have had my money for 20 days... thanks Argos...
I bought a TV which turned out to be defective, but Argos refused to let me return to the store where I bought it - a proper Argos, not just a collection point - expected me to return it to a store 4 miles away.
I, done with this useless company!
I order online as on Sun 28 November 2021 for ''Seagate Expansion Plus 2TB Portable Hard Drive'' and the amount is £56.99. My order number is *******975. I choose to collect it from ''Bethnal Green Sainsburys Local Collect, 291 Cambridge Heath Road, London E2 0EL. Yesterday (30/11/2021) I went to that store to collect my delivery. I was shocked and I found that Argos sent me a Cooker instead of my Seagate Expansion plus Hard Drive. I denied to collect it and ask for a refund. In my entire life, this is the first time I got this kind of bad experience. This hard drive was needed very urgently, but Argos customer service gave me an unexpected surprise. PC World is near to me, but I thought I will get good service and product from Argos that's the reason I bought it from them. Now, I have lost my faith in Argos, if I order again they may send me again another product instead of my one. I think shopping from Argos means wasting valuable time and money.
Andy the store manager Lincoln Sainsbury. We Had a very upsetting experience with this manager over a faulty cleverspa hot tub refund. Argos customer service has opened a investigation on this experience and have apologised refusly on behalf of Andy and have admitted his awful unprofessional manner. They also said i have a right to a refund as its in 30 days of purchase. They have wrote all this on the order notes. Andy is still refusing refund after this and calling colleagues on the customer service line LIARS. He admitted i came in with a faulty product but he has the power as its at his discretion wether he grants a refund or not. When asked why he wouldnt refund even though this is the policy on the 30 days. He says i dont have to give a reason. This should not be happening the way we got treated was harahly unreasonable. Never witnessed that behaviour from a manager ever before. Citizens advice, trading standards, financial ombudsman have now been contacted.
Delivery men mumbled and grumbled, because they had to reverse their truck down a lane to get to the premises, this was after failing to deliver the product the previous day!
They refused to bring the items up the stairs, because one of them was over 50k, it was 54kg, and left them in the doorway.
We unpacked them in the street and carried them upstairs, after finding one of the packages labelled correctly contained the wrong product!
They returned the next morning with a replacement, and again refused to take the package up the stairs, leaving my daughter in law who is a featherweight to take it up the stairs herself.
Real men aren't they?
Service appalling not even worth one star, unfortunately they don't have a zero!
Horrible. They are stealing from their customers. I ordered a phone this week and it was supposed to get delivered on Monday, so I stayed home all day long waiting for it. Next day I still haven't gotten anything so I contact the customer service. Apparently my package already got delivered. But it definitely didn't get delivered to me. The chat lady supposedly started a query and tells me I should be contacted again within 24hours. But obviously that didn't happen. I contacted them again and the guy who's called Justin just leaves the chat without explanation after I explained my problem. If I haven't heard back from them by tomorrow I will contact the police and my lawyer. NEVER EVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!
Ordered from argos delivery van reversed up the street at 7 am with hazards blaring waking up the whole st. We were waiting outside he looked straight at us & drove off!
Without delivering
Argos - UK's Largest Catalogue Merchant
Argos is the largest general goods retailer in the UK it has over 750 stores around the country. It sells goods as a catalogue merchant if you go to the store you enter a catalogue number on a slip of paper, check it's available, then wait for the item to be brought to you from the warehouse.
They also have a pretty good online store where you can buy and have stuff delivered to your home (usually extra charge) or just order for pick up at your nearest store. They have customer reviews online and they keep both positive and negative comments so you get a fair idea of what you are buying.
Argos has been in the UK since 1973 and is one of the main discount retailers. It sell branded goods, own brand goods from cheap and cheerful to mid range / good quality. Their twice a year telephone directory sized catalogues must use up half of Scandinavia's forest land to produce.
I use the website to check prices against other suppliers. Sometimes it is surprisingly competitive, and if you know what you are after it is often the best place to go.
In the last year I've bought a camera, a barbecue and some self assembly furniture from them. Very efficient, good prices and I am quite happy.
I'm not sure I'd buy their cheaper own brand electronics stuff but then 'ye pays yer money and takes yer chance' If you want a fancy radio for half the price of another main brand it might not be as good. Caveat emptor let the buyer beware.
www.Argos.co.uk
Generally good.
Answer: No, because they may not honour guarantees and it would appear their after sales support is zero
Argos has a rating of 1.6 stars from 139 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Argos most frequently mention customer service, consumer rights and order number. Argos ranks 785th among Electronics sites.
