Eric gave Great service with compassion and eye for details. Listened to my story and know what was needed.
This is the second time I used A Place for Mom. I I experienced a great deal of compassion and understanding from everyone I talked to at a place for Mom. It was very helpful to gain an understanding of the different types of placements. A place for Mom made this experience much easier and I would recommend them to anyone who needs to find a place for their loved one.
I moved in to a recommended new home in short order.
My 94 year old mother is prone to outbursts of mean behavior. After just three days, she was told to leave an assisted living facility that had been recommended to her by her friend. Suddenly needing an alternative, and not knowing where to turn, I called A Place for Mom. Immediately, Dawn Walker put me at ease. She was SO helpful and knowledgeable about the options available. She contacted places on our behalf and made calls to follow up on the progress. Mom is now settled into a skilled nursing facility where the folks are trained to handle her outbursts. And she is VERY happy!
I'm so thankful to APFM for their assistance in locating my current residence. They simply ask your budget, what your needs and wants are and then provide you the best matches. Made the experience so easy and I cannot sing their praise high enough. I highly recommend.
I called them and let them know what was going on and what we needed and they had places for us to visit so fast. Really appreciate them so much and would recommend them to anyone else having to find a place that is right for a parent.
Carrie and her team Wonderful 😊 Don't think we could have done everything they did to get places schedule for us to check out. We would recommend them to anyone needing the same help.
Jennifer was so helpful through all the ups and downs that we went through to find my mother the correct place. I appreciate her kindness, her follow through, and not giving up on me as we worked through family issues. I would recommend her and a place for mom.
When I contacted a Place for Mom, and I was contacted back I had no idea that I was being roped into a system where I was trapped into using their services in terms of referral. I was searching for help in my journey to find assisted living and simply by having a conversation with someone who I did not realize I was looped in with, committed with in terms of receiving referral I took the call. Then in more personal search I found a more correct source for me. That other source was the help for me, yet A Place for Mom got all the credit for nothing. Not correct at all and off putting.
I filled out the info online, and within 24 hours, Janice Ryalls called me back. She advised me of my options, and recommended several places in the area. We went to several, and chose the best option for us. We had a few setbacks, and Janice would always call and offer solace or just someone to talk to. When it all worked out, she called to say how happy she was for us.
After answering questions about my needs, I was given several options of places that might work for my dad. She set up appointments for us to tour 3 facilities. We chose the 3rd one we visited. She kept in contact with me to make sure everything was satisfactory. She was very helpful
When faced with trying to find a suitable place for my mom, there were so many places out there. We had some specific things we wanted--a situation that was "age-in-place", close to my mom's preferred hospital, friendly, clean, lots of activities, a full kitchen for the independent side, some meals provided, and the list goes on. Within 10 minutes of filling out a form on-line, I had a phone call from Rick Herbert, the area representative at the time. By the next morning, I had three appointments to see various communities--all fitting the criteria I had asked for. My mom is now in her new apartment--happy as can be. We have received a wealth of information from Rick and Robin Vetter, the new area representative. I received a phone call at least once a week to check on progress and to see if there was any additional help needed.
I was able to get an appointment at a senior living facility for my mother right away. Within a week a decision was made and she moved in a couple of weeks later.
After filling out the contact form in the middle of the night due to an urgent need for memory care, I got a phone call first thing the next morning (and it was a Sunday!) from Shelli. By 8:30 that same morning, she had already put me in touch with a facility right here in my town. Shelli has followed up twice since then to make sure I had all the help and info that was required. What an awesome service. I have already recommended A Place For Mom to a couple of friends who are facing similar situations. I will be forever grateful to Shelli and this group. Thank you so much!
While my husband was in the hospital his doctor told me he should not come home, but go to assisted living. A Place for Mom immediately went into action and showed me 5 nearby places that had open rooms and were highly rated. It allowed me to get him placed in one week. Breathtakingly fast, but it all went smoothly thanks to their help.
Joshua was super helpful in responding to my questions and helping me place my father in assisted living and his wife into MemoryCare. It is such a hard emotional process and I recommend everyone to reach out to A Place for Mom! Thank you!
I will start by saying I had no clue how to begin the process of taking care of my dad. Kelly was amazing! She explained so much about the mental aspect as well as how and what to do. She was so patient and kind. Even dad flipped and flopped a little bit. She assisted my sisters and I on what to do. It took so much stress off my family. I was hesitant that I would start getting a bunch of messages and emails from all over the place and that was not the case. Anyone going into a placement situation. Give A place for mom a call. You will be glad you did.
My husband was very ill and in decline to the point of needing hospitalization. I could not care for him any longer. Melanie at APFM was so helpful and knowledgeable, narrowing the search down to just the places that could provide care for my husband. I did not have the energy, time or knowledge to research all of the places in the area.
Working with A Place For Mom was great help in finding a place. They were a great help, with outstanding knowledge and patience to help
I appreciated the list of assisted-living facilities I was given, and they were a great help in guiding me. After that I got emails that I felt were helpful, and helping my mother with the transition
A Place for Mom alleviated a lot of the stress of this process. My consultant was really helpful not only in determining the best places to visit, but in simply listening to the various issues we were facing with my loved one whose needs kept changing.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
