SCAM AVOID. Website keeps disposal fee secret until van guy arrives that attempts to charge you £70 on the phone. It's a scam avoid
We booked to move a piece of furniture and paid extra for a shorter slot between 1pm-3pm. No one called or updated us for the whole morning therefore called customer service at about 3:20pm. I was told by the woman on the phone that it's only 20 mins late so I should have waited a bit longer. She then said she was unable to get hold of the driver and only sent him a message. We wanted a refund at the time but was told they DON'T GIVE REFUND! Meanwhile we were trying to get hold of the driver but no luck. At 5 pm I was finally able to get through the driver and was told I needed to wait for another 2.5 hours. We lost our temper by this time and told them this was unacceptable, the driver then said they can't do it today as they were still finishing other jobs. I am shocked by the incompetency of this company and the "no refund" policy is just dodgy. I have seen on Trustpilot that there are so many positive reviews but those reviewers seem like one-off generated fake profiles. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY!
AVOID. Disgusting scam of a company. Sent a group of men and a van who arrived, chainsmoked the whole time, refused to carry out the job saying there wasn't permitted parking, despite me finding bay parking alternatives for them (photo attached), they still refused while sneering in my face saying "I've been doing this for 15 years darling". After an hour of not doing anything, and me desperately trying to find alternatives, they drove off and blocked my number. It took me an hour to get through to customer service ON THE DAY OF MY MOVE, where they told me they're keeping the £300 I paid saying it's within their rights to do so. I used Compare The Man And Van in the end - they arrived finding me very upset, parked up, did the job in half an hour - truly professional, lovely, honest, hardworking people and company. ABSOLUTELY AVOID ANYVAN unless you want to be conned out of your money and time, as well as the awful customer service. I can't believe they are pocketing my money despite me showing photo evidence of parking spaces and not carrying out the service.

So I booked this company for my mum who was moving house for a fresh start having become widowed after my recent fathers passing. I received a very fair and competitive quote after filling in the online form with all movable goods. I asked several times if there was any hidden charges/agenda behind the quote price to which I was assured - no. Likewise if the area (highlands of scotland) would be known/familiar to the driver as she had to be out of the house and I could not afford any hiccups leaving her stranded and homeless. Again, all of the assurances were that I have nothing to worry about. Needless to say I didnt hesitate in booking a Saturday slot between 8-12 am complete with 2 helpers to assist my mum. I made the call on the Wednesday.
On Saturday morning at 09:30 hrs (1.5 hrs into the allocated time slot) I received a call informing me they could no longer provide a van, driver and service. I asked how this could happen on the morning and day they were meant to be assisting my mum with moving and how this never came to fruition before now?! This was same day and 1.5 hrs into the time slot I had booked... I had several phone calls back and forth to try get resolve. Unfortunately each and every time I phoned I spoke to a different call centre and person (Newcastle, London, Liverpool) all of which advised that they didnt have a manger that I could speak with?! The told us the earliest they could get us a van, driver and service was on Tuesday the following week. I advised this was a disgrace and all the reassurances you gave me before I made the booking are false and farcical.
I also later discovered that even though you get a booking confirmation, your money is taken and everything looks sorted. All Anyvan do is act as a middleman and go to local firms in the area to get to do the quote price they have given you. So basically I paid for an advertisement and then was told it would take further 2-3 days to get my money back... as a result of this we had to pay another firm and find further funds to book this until anyvan refunded the money.
There was no compensation, remorse, discount/free service offered. This is my first and last dealing with this despicable company. Be very cautious!
I deeply regret choosing AnyVan to handle my international move.
The driver I hired arrived to my address with an almost FULL van. The driver told me his boss had asked him to leave room for only 13 boxes. He apologised and left. I reported this to AnyVan and was told I would receive a full refund because the picture I took of the van showed clearly that it was full. Fine, mistakes happen. I was ready to make another booking.
However, since I was promised a refund various members of staff have told me I can't have a refund under any circumstance, some told me I can have a credit note, some told me I can have a partial refund. But so far, I received NOTHING. I paid just short of £1000. Some customer service staff told me they spoke with their 'trustworthy' driver and he told them he had space butt I refused collection, then he said I had more than double the amount of space I'd booked. So, if the driver lies, they take his side.
To make matters worse, some of the staff have been incredibly rude beyond belief. I have been gaslit, mis-spoken to, had one of the staff turn me on and off mute whilst I complained, and called by the sales team TWICE to make another booking.
Most of the staff are in desperate need of some training in how to conduct a conversation.
AnyVan makes business based on the promise that their drivers are trusted, yet when their drives take untrustworthy action - it's nothing to do with them because of their terms and conditions.
You should also be aware that the driver I hired used a different business name. When I googled the business name I paid the money to, he has a number of 1 star reviews saying he stole their items/ is being taken to court.
Please, don't make the mistake I did. Do not choose AnyVan.
I will use them again. Polite movers. Punctual too. Efficient and fast workers. Helpful and friendly.

I thought Anyvan would be a good service. I was more than sorely disappointed. The movers arrived and couldn't speak English at all. I couldn't communicate with them and they refused to move two items. A wardrobe and a 2 seater sofa, both of which I had moved into the flat fine. I tried to tell them how to remove the items and they didn't even really try. They were not heavy for two people and I even tried to do it myself but I'm disabled and just wasn't able to show them how to remove the items. As I was trying the man took photos of me without even letting me know. I suffer from anxiety and depression so when I logged into my account and saw the pictures I was so upset. I paid money for each item taken. They have refused to refund the money to me. I am struggling financially and I have had to book a different moving team to help me. I'm on disability payment and I really needed a refund. They were not able to provide the service I have paid for. On another note the movers left me at the flat and disappeared for an hour without telling me what was happening. I was waiting at my new property for an hour. When they finally arrived they refused to bring any of the furniture upstairs and put everything in the living room. Leaving as quickly as possible. The whole ordeal was really stressful. I tried to speak to Anyvan where the phone hung up more than 3 times. It took so long to get through. I was told that they would then send the request to the refund team after giving them the photos and they came back with a no? Basically I feel like they have stolen money for a service that was just terrible. I'm feeling very low about the whole thing. This is my first bad review for anything. I'm a really easy going person as I find it tough to be confrontational. I'm very sad!
