This game is a scam. You spend alot of money on the membership, and then they suspend your child's game. They say it will be for a day, but it still says she is suspended. No explanation given by the game, but as best we can determine, she stated, "If you send me a gift, I will send you a gift" just prior to the shut down. No phone number to call, probably because they know this is a scam. It really isn't even connected to National Geographic, a company I thought was trustworthy, which is why I trusted the site to be honorable without actually looking into it. National Geographic needs to remove any affiliation to this group, because it makes them look bad. Unless you want to hand over your money to a company who can at any point suspend your service without explanation for who knows how long, I would keep way away from this game.

Animal jam is a good game but there's some things i don't like for example Hackers, Scammers, Show off's, Bullies, Memberships. I love animal jam but nonmembers get left behind what if they can't afford a membership or there parents can't get them 1 and there's a lot of show off's in the game now its rude and get people sad and makes them wanna quit animal jam. This is a fun game (even though the security is trash). Better upgrade the security (I saw animals teleporting around and changing colors AGAIN a few days ago). Parents: teach your kids to stand up to chat filter dodging bullies and hackers. Tell them not to get upset and just get up and tell the hackers to deal with the fact that they don't care about them stealing pixels. PIXELS ARE ONLY PIXELS ON SCREENS! Kids: Stand up to bullies, trash talk hackers, don't cry over pixels, and avoid scammers. Play safely! -Beware4 (BWYTN).

My 11 year old's account was hacked and AJHQ has refused to take any action or resolve. Over the last year or so she has spent considerable allowance money buying sapphires and trading and creating dens, items, animals and pets. This has been her world during the lockdowns from the pandemic. She knows internet safety, creating complex passwords, not sharing passwords etc. but unfortunately her account was hacked and the hacker emptied her account to basically "factory" settings so all her dens, items, animals and pets are gone. She is distraught and AJHQ refuses to do anything by way of support. The ask was to revert her account to the day before the hack but they have refused.

Warning to parents - do not waste your money making any purchases on this site. It is not secure and AJHQ will not stand by their systems and ensure security on their site.

I've been playing animal jam for years- now I've quit. In the earlier stages of the game, there was a lot of role playing, like playing house online and pretending to date. There were a lot of users saying stuff like "if you like me come to my den". So it was a lot like a chatroom of sorts. Recently, there have been restrictions on chat, so now the game is entirely about "trading"- meaning who can get the most and rarest possessions. So in a nutshell, animal jam is a very materialistic game, and it teaches an unhealthy policy of consumerism. Ironically, animal jam was never meant to be a materialistic game. It was supposed to be an educational game, and teach kids about nature. But really, kids are being deprived of nature because they are sitting in front of screens, measuring all of their self worth on how many accessories they have.

This is the worst site I have ever seen! People do the most INAPPROPRIATE things on this site! The accounts are way to easy to hack into I was hacked into at least 15 times if not more! National Geographic has nothing to do with the site this site just slaps the NG name on there stuff and ruins the NG reputation. My mom had a friend look at the site and they said that it was SUPER easy to hack into the accounts. This site teaches kids absolutely nothing except the most inappropriate things. People have word workarounds and cuss each other out. If your smart you will get your kid away from this site. I quit months ago and my life is WAY better then when I was on that crud of a site. From a 12 year old.

Being rare in this game is what jammers love. I get it. It's fun becoming more rare and getting things you want. But jammers often have problems with this. If you decline a trade, often a jammer will complain that it was fair and it will start a whole argument. In my opinion, it's just a pixel. So I don't get upset when a jammer says no to my trade. There are tons of arguments in this game which makes this less fun and upsetting for some jammers. The arguments normally have to do with rares. If a declined trade happens, an argument happens. If trust happens, then normally a jammer gets scammed and locked out.

The game is nice and all the graphics are amazing everyone loves it but tons have had problems like hackers and scammers, I think non members shouldn't be left behind they shouldn't be allowed to be so rude to nonmembers. A lot of members should be nicer to nonmembers.The worst thing is animal jam does not care. They should also put the rares back in stores so everyone wont be so sad because they don't have that item. Then scammers will just scam them for it. Then they will be sad. I'm happy animal jam got filtered chat but people can still find their way around it. Animal jam head quarters should be more concerned about this. I was addicted to this game for a long time but all the items i worked so hard on were lost because i lost my password. So if you let your child play this game i suggest they be careful.

Hello. I have played animal jam since 2012 (no i'm not old) and i still play it to this day because it is classic to me and i never get tired of it. There are so many fun things to do, you can buy and decorate your dens, animals, and pets, you can trade, you can do adventures, you can socialize, you can do fashion shows and so much more. Ajhq is very good about the chat system and they don't let anything inappropriate get through, and nothing regarding personal info. There are three chat settings: bubble chat, where there are phrases you can click on that ajhq made, safe chat, where you can type from a large list of approved words, and safe chat plus "free chat" where you can type your own messages but ajhq is still not gonna let you say anything bad. Animal jam is a great and fun game for all ages, and there is lots of education involved. Ty for reading this -icyfrosting

BACK THEN: Animal jam was kinda cool when it came out, with everyone caring about friends and stuff.

Now: It's getting stupid aj.The only thing making them play the game is rares and showing off. Also aj is LEAVING non members behind :(. Also once a member was being mean to me bc i was nm but they were super nice to a member.

Addiction: One thing thats bad is the addiction of aj. I used to be really addicted to this game because in 2013 - 2014 AJ did really appeal with addiction to me.

Now in 2017 it's just stupid:(
