No I'm not a ickybadhorrible or a everything'sgreatandperfect I'm one person who is not afraid to give an honest review pointing pros and cons and how much violence, sex, drugs, educational value, safety, and how much fun it really is

Is It Violent? Answer: I'd say two stars for violence. Some jammers do red patterns to imitate blood and say stuff like, pounces and gills or coughs up bloom (being blood since AJ is strict about language and kills is gills) but that rarely ever happens. So I wouldn't worry about it too much

Does It Have Sex? Answer: I'd say three and a half stars. Some jammers jump on one jammer that sleeps and that imitates sex, it used to have strip clubs, used being the key word. Matchmakers we're mainly a joke, sadly not a lot of people knew that, and overdid it. And people do have ‘puppies' but as long as they do it appropriately I don't think that's much of a problem. Some people may not like the adopting protocols, frankly neither do I, but sometimes it's just a roleplay when you can't find any others.

Does It Have Drug Imitations? Answer: I'm sorry but I have to say zero stars. It used to have drug imitations, a long time ago it had a LOT, back then the safety wasn't so great. But now, you'll have to risk doing it yourself if you want to see the words moonshine on AJ

Educational Value? Answer: Meh, four stars. Yeah it has little pop up facts, cool videos, nothing to impressive but yes, educational value.

Is It Safe? Answer: I don't know. I'm sorry but I haven't seen everything, it is pretty safe for people who know what their doing.

Is It Fun? Answer: Five stars! Of course it is! It's the funnest app in the world and the most addicting. You can't find something to replace Animal Jam!

This game is entertaining for me and I love it. Unfortunately, my account was stolen from the data breach. I've been trying to find a way to contact them for a year and I finally got a response by submitting a request on their website 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I've been emailing them, and they've been emailing me back and forth. I told them I couldn't reset my password. Then they asked me for billing information, and I've been asking my dad to help me with it, and he did. Then they refused what I gave them. A screenshot of the payment for the membership. It's so ridiculous. They wanted me to prove it was me, so that's why they needed that information. I sent it and I just get a big fat: "We understand, but we regret to inform you..." Their response is always the same. "We regret to inform you..." Like, what? What else do they need? I'm trying so hard to get my account back, even though it's probably not a big deal, but it is to me because it's my childhood and it's just rotting away. To this day I'm still trying to get my account back, and I hope I do. But after so many rejects from them, I'm starting to lose hope. If you are reading this, and you were involved in the data breach, I am so sorry. Especially when they refuse to give your account back after begging them for help, because their customer service is terrible. I still really enjoy the game. Off topic a little, but I also do think it's really unfair that literally 98% of items in the game is members only. I'm not hating on animal jam or anything, but I'm just really upset with their customer service. They also need to work on their security. Not to mention there are so many hackers and scammers in the game. But seriously, a literal screenshot of a receipt should verify the ownership of the account. I'm sorry if this sounds a little harsh, but, their response shows me that they don't even care and they're barely trying with their responses. Thank you for reading this, I honestly needed to vent about it. I never post reviews. Ever. Which tells you that I'm really upset with their customer service. Don't get me wrong, I love the game because I'm mainly playing it because of my childhood. Hopefully I'll be able to get the account back, but unfortunately, I sorta doubt it due to their poor responses. But I'll keep trying! Thank you again for reading this, and I hope you have a nice day!

Animal Jam
October 25, 2015

Animal jam is a very addicting game, you collect items for your avatar and all that. But animal jam moderators kick you off the game forever pretty much after you collected and earned so many items. ( which you work hard for) they permanant suspend you for the dumbest reasons. Bullying can be found on this game. Once you collect many items and spend most of your time everyday earning them, they will kick you off permant not letting you or any other accounts you have made go on to Animal jam. They will also not accept your email. Suspensions they give you can be saying ''please gift me i gift back'' or if someone reports you to a moderator for absoloutly no reason, your getting banned as well. Also. Paying for this game as ''membership'' can be a waste of money as well. Paying about 7 dollars a week just so your animal can get banned? And diamonds is like special money in the animal jam game which alows you to buy new animals. I have boughtabout 20 or 10 diamonds but its useless when you get permanently banned the next day.

Beautiful
June 11, 2017

Though many people say it's full of predators, scammers, bullies, etc. it's not. People find themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, with the moderation part, it's actually really hard to get banned or suspended. Membership is actually quite cheap compared to other games like club penguin or poptropica, it also HAS an educational value. Predators are very rare, but i have had a few experiences with them because I have been playing Animal Jam since the summer of 2010. And parents who are kind of strict with the concept of strangers. There is safe chat which will restrict curse words, swearing, and anything inappropriate. Also to get suspended or banned, you have to be saying whatever you want over, and over again. So if you say things like "Gift me, I'll gift back" a bunch of times, be warned you will get suspended for that. The safe chat considers it a form of scamming do they block the chat. I will admit that scamming has ruined the game a bit, but the only true form of scamming is using the trade glitch. Other times, like at giveaways, it's just you trusting someone who can't be trusted with your items and being so surprised that they locked you out of their den. Also problems with pedophiles, simple fix. Report and block them. That easy, a five year old could do that. There is also an option to close jam-a-grams, buddy requests, etc. Also to cancel a membership go to your parent account and cancel it there. By the way, members don't brag or talk trash about the non-members (unless they are spoiled) Members aren't really that bad as others say they are. In my opinion animal jam is a great game, which is friendly for the younger and the old. If I were a parent, which I am not, I would gladly sign my child up for this game and buy them a club membership.

It's 2016, everyone. Time to take a step away from the past.
Be aware that I am biased. I have played this game for over four years and I'm quite fond of it. Keep that in mind when I say the following;)

Alright, so, MMO for kids, what could go wrong?
Well, LOTS! I want to make this quick, though, so I'll just go through some of the issues parents have had with it in the past...

1) OMG NO MODERATION! MY KEEDS'LL FIND THE STALKERS! 11!:(
Hmm. Fair enough. There are a few people of an older crowd here, including myself- but that's not to say we're old! I'm a bit old for the game, and I've started phasing out of it, but is 13 years old too old to enjoy something innocent? You can decide that for yourself, really, but there are no 20 year olds playing this.

2) SECURITY?
Here are the updates that involve Safety that have been made in the past few years:
-Chat filter upgrades (Two. You can't even say regular things anymore, it's that good :P)
-Username Verification (The New Jammer status is now applied for longer so that your username can go through an upgraded filter. This takes around 2 weeks because of the server load. Old usernames that violate the rules were changed to Jammer[random character sting])
-Undercover moderators? (I can't confirm this. But I have lots of evidence)
-Community improvements (Not an upgrade in code, but an upgrade in togetherness :) )

3) OK FINE BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MATESS?
People used to "mate" on this site apparently? You guys must be reeealllyyy unlucky to find that because I have never seen it happen, nor have any of my friends. Or buddies, for that matter. I mean, it's a different story if you try and seek that out... but moderation has improved so much, I cannot fathom something like it in the present day.

Alright, adios.

All right, let's all settle down. Animal Jam, right? Seems innocent. You log in, and boom. You got this animal and you walk around, play games, chat, have fun, and make new friends. Yet, these are just the pros. Oh, yes, it gets worse.

From here, you may think it's as innocent as it seems. But, addiction. One thing literally everyone fears. It's common with this game, as you collect coins as you continue throughout the game. However, this action can be repeated. Over and over, the player continues to get coins. This leads to addiction. Yet, these coins lead us into the next con.

Coins give the player ability to buy clothes to customize your character, (Hint, hint, for the next con!) but sometimes, coins can be wasted causing rage to the player. Rage leads to a complete different personality within yourself. This leads to mood changes, and those completely change you and yourself.

Alright, character customization. It can be handled, but, of course, this game? No. Bragging is the HUGE problem with this character customization. The best item category (spikes) are the biggest problem. But, just wait for the next con.

You know how I said people can get addicted? Yeah, I don't know how. There's a limited amount of games you can play, (which eventually get very boring) which probably isn't going to change. Then you got the social-chatting part of the game. Ha! You thought you could socialize? Na! All we talk about is, "Oh, give me this for that!" and, "Gimme your spike for my spike!" Yeah, all you can do to fit in or even "socialize" in this game is ask for crap that you don't have.

Okay, we got a bunch of kids on this website saying they learned something as an excuse to continue playing without punishment. However, for a National Geographic game, you'd think they'd make it educational. Except, you're wrong. You can learn absolutely NOTHING from this website.

Scams. Good 'ol way to get free stuff without effort. Since this game is for clueless kids, they would fall for the scams and have everything they worked for completely stolen.

Ah, almost forgot about the chat. It's the public way to contact people/strangers. Not really the safest thing, but it is at least slightly monitored. Yet, players can mix the allowed characters to get by the filtering system. The game doesn't recognize as bad, so they allow it to go through. The player reads it off as what is intended by the person who typed it. This causes one of the two. The reader to get very uncomfortable, or the reader to get very insulted.

These probably aren't all the cons in the world about Animal Jam, but I listed all the ones I could think of. I hope, if you're a parent or principal wanting to block the game, that you surely will. This game has not reached the requirements to be allowed for kids. I hope your day will be splendid and enjoyed.

Thanks! -EmeriV
