I got a good deal on a copy of Gibbon's Decline and Fall whose condition was marked as Good, but which was essentially new. I lucked out this time but it would be nice if there was a standardized grading system to minimize the uncertainty. I would not be pleased if the actual condition was worse than the description.

It would also be nice if there was a way to track shipments to international locations, in my case Canada. As it is I could only see that the shipment had reached the Alibris dispatch centre in California, but could not see anything beyond that.

I paid CAD 17 for shipping, which is not cheap, but which is probably fair for a 3-volume set in this case.

I took over 3 weeks for the book to be delivered.
Moreover, many passages are highlighted in yellow. This alteration wasn't mentionned in the book description. Quite disappointing.
There is a $3.00 label on the book cover, but I payed much more than that.

I have now received multiple emails for orders I have places with Alibris asking "if I received my order" with a link to click to confirm that the order arrived. If I click on that link, I'm taken to this page and asked to leave a review. If you want a review, ask for a review. Don't make it look like you are trying to verify if an order was received. And don't send a stupid email response like you did the last time saying you're sorry that you're sending out deceptively worded emails. If you want my business, stop being stupid.

I would not purchase through this company again. One item was out of stock and it took 4 emails to get a refund. The other item I ordered was not in fact made of linen as I was led to believe and there is not information on the tag. The materials coming from this company have multiple business names.

I needed a textbook for a graduate level class, and I needed it before the term started. I didn't need brand-new and perfect. I was fine with a little wear and tear. This website got me exactly what I needed without breaking the bank.

I don't like it when my credit card is already saved and I don't even get a screen to check the card that is saves etc. Somehow it is not obvious and suddenly goes through when I am expecting one more screen

As a writer and book author myself, I frequently order hard-to-find reference books to clarify or re-inforce a subject or event I may be writing about. Alibris has become my first choice in searching for such books because I can nearly always locate exactly what I'm looking for. I have been using them for years; in fact, I recently located one of my own published books through Alibris that had been out of print for more than 15 years.

I ordered 3 books - 2 hardcover, 1 paperback. The box they were in was badly damaged. It was barely even holding itself together. I believe the carrier company placed it in a plastic bag to protect it, it was so bad. All 3 books have some damage. It's not bad enough that I feel compelled to return or exchange them, but it is really disappointing.

This site had the only copy of a very hard to find textbook that would make it to me in time for classes. My school was selling the books for roughly $216 but I got mine used here (rather heavily used albeit) for only $54

I love Alibris albeit I am fond of ebooks because they are more portable than hard copies which are in storage and will be sold, donated and gifted. But Temple Grandin's POV is precious and I am a student of human behavior. Thank you for feeding my intellect!

Ordered a handful of new books, mostly manga, at steeply discounted rate. I estimate probably about 35% off on average. Almost always selling for less than what Amazon asks for the same titles and I still get free shipping.

Honestly, that's the most annoying part. Why can't I just rate this five stars and move on with my life? Everything was fine with the order. No complaints. But coercing a review out of someone is unlikely to yield good results.

When I heard of the cookbook, I knew I wanted it, but didn't want to pay the full price. Alibis is trustworthy, especially in rating quality of used titles. Found several and picked one that was delivered as good as new.

I bought 2 used books which said "good condition" They were in great condition. It takes a little longer than an amazon delivery, but well worth it. Great prices and as a community we need to reuse more often!
