My experience: Good service does not equal good quality.
I will likely not be using Alibaba again or purchasing goods directly from China ever again as it is better to pay much more and get goods locally, even if they are made in China (which unfortunately almost everything seems to be these days). At least the quality will likely be much better as that company would have done the work of choosing a reliable Chinese partner.

Really great experience so far using this website, really responsive website, hey have quality assurances and trade protections in place so it gives you more confidence ordering. I placed 5 orders from 5 different companies and so far all positive experiences, easy to communicate with even though i only speak English, i have total confidence ordering again.
The Alibaba website is pretty good. Searching algorithms could be updated to provide more relevant results with less duplicate results. RFQ could be better with suppliers submitting offers that are actually similar to the RFQ and not just some random products they offer within the same category. The mobile application has a bit of issues: messaging always has to log back in to update chat messages (logs in in the background while you look at the chat; creates a very slow conversation update experience).
Otherwise, the basis of alibaba is fine. There are ample suppliers, products and options to choose from.
It would be great if shipping was significantly cheaper and if suppliers would actually send DDP instead of saying they are sending DDP but actually only using DAT/DAP...

I think there should be some payment method in which options of COD type should be available, as well as shipping costs are too high, there should be some special agreements with shipping companies for better prices.
