It is a very convenient and user-friendly e-commerce platform for business people. Most importantly, Alibaba trade assurance protect the buyer during transection. We always get scared while we think about payment. We do not know who I am paying to, am I going to lose money? But, when I deal through Alibaba, it is peace in mind.
Communication with some suppliers can be a bit tough, just avoid them. Also the websites navigation is somewhat outdated and tedious, but you do what you have to do! Overall, I recommend it to people all the time!
I've had a very good experience purchasing products through Alibaba. But clearly each supplier will yield a different experience. I've been fortunate to connect with a great supplier. My only concern is that I started out using a credit card for purchases, which carried extra fees, and then switched to ACH debit, which (at the time) had no fees. Now, they've added fees to ACH transactions and didn't give the buyers any notice of that change.
I save a ton of money buying directly from manufacturers rather than through some retail company online.
I was leery of ordering direct from China but honestly, I've received nothing but exceptional service and very high quality products.
To start my business, by Alibaba, I got many options to source materials through all over the world. It broaden my vision. Best service in the era when people are easy to start-up. Must have web-service for entrepreneur.
I've just started, using alibaba, but so far I've found good products; my orders have come on-time; the prices are unbeatable; and one manufacturer has made great efforts to communicate with me and work with my requests. Ofcourse, you'll have to shop around and check reviews, but when you find what you're looking for, its worth the time! Great platform!
The sellers are more often than not, the same seller with different contact names. The prices displayed do not match what you are presented when you get in touch, and most of the time, you cannot purchase directly (you have to send message to seller).
The quality of at least the item we purchased was far below the quality of our current product from Taiwan, and other listings on Alibaba were higher cost than we sell the product for.
Doesn't seem to be a good resource in general. Google search shows products, but quality and price are not what you expect.
Alibaba provides a portal where you can find what ever your want or need and purchase the items using their trade assurance ordering system that provides the buyer with financial security. I have purchased a number of products using Alibaba's portal and every purchase has been delivered and been an outstanding success. The suppliers that sell through Alibaba's portal have been very helpful and truly understand customer service. I highly recommend Alibaba as a first choice for securing quality products at a fair price that are delivered on time with financial security. I will continue to use Alibaba as shopping portal.
Alibaba his good if you are not familiar with your supplier, their insurance protection his pretty good and reliable.
I didn't give it a 5 stars, because their invoice still don't show the fee's they are charging to process our order, we only see the initial amount. But when your statement come the amount don't match because of this miss.
I have contacted a supplier on Alibaba about some products. Asked which shipping agent they use, as the price is fairly high. Supplier replied, "express" I placed the order and paid on the 8th of May. The order got send in time, but with the post, NL Express! It is now already more than 60 days later. I paid US$ 94.00 Shipping, the same as is charged for Fedex Express by which it would have arrived within 15 days. When I opened a dispute, there is no proper communication from Alibaba, only computer generated answers. The dispute is already in process now for 18 days where in the information it stated 3 days...
After 78 days, no product, nor refund, no clarity. This is the worst experience ever. I'd rather use any other trading platform then the "trusted" Alibaba ever again.
Payment was easy and straight forward. Once payment was verified by seller, Ultrasonic Homogenizer was immediately manufactured and sent to Australia within a few days. Device was packed thoroughly and neither I have found any scratch nor something broken. Manual was provided as print out and as a pdf-file. Device is easy to handle and is fully operated in English. Seller's service was excellent since I was continuously provided, without any further requests, with information about product (documents, videos, demonstrations via web), shipping details, custom clearance (AWB, etc) and freight forwarder. In summary, I felt quite happy about about seller's support and service and strongly recommend the company "Nanjing Safer Biotech".
The website itself is not a scam it is merely a marketplace online where people go to buy cheap products, unfortunately alibaba has little to no security measures that stop suppliers delivering botched products or not delivering at all. Overall I suggest if you use this site that it is for business rather than personal use and that you do as much research about your supplier as possible.
Working with the vendors was a pleasure. But the way the site works is not terribly intuitive. Also when we got the invoice our "transaction fee" isn't accounted for. This is something that just doesn't make sense. It doesn't reflect our total bill that was charged to us. Technically we could dispute the charge since there is no record. So I would suggest adjusting that in the system immediately to avoid this action.
Alibaba has many great products to choose from and most reps reply quickly to inquiries. Some don't reply as quick but there are other stores with similar products. They have great product prices but the only downfall is the shipping rates. It's best to get information on shipping before ordering. There are different suppliers for the same products with cheaper shipping rates. But be weary ones you buy there is no going back as for shipping products back for refund is basically not an option since it might cost more than the product's worth. Make sure your getting exactly what your paying for. Ask for samples or pictures of products first hand if necessary.
Ali is great and easy to use, though there are some time wasters on here so just be careful, look at the reviews, find verified sellers, It is best to go with sellers who have been operating for multiple years.
Everything I have ordered has exceeded expectation, however, it took a long time to find the right supplier, so be patient and make lots of inquiries, you can send out requests to lots of suppliers at once, this is a great feature.
Purchased one of the top grade bags payed almost $300.00 for it to have a crooked logo on the front. I am not happy at all, as I've tried to get this revolved. My emails have not been responded back to since I sent the pictures of the bag.
If the issue get resolved I would be satisfied. I love the bag itself, but not with a crooked logo
Alibaba has been the best thing that happened to me. I have been bringing in containers of goods from China for about 10 years now and yet I have never been to China. Its been awesome. The feature I love most is Alibaba Trade Assurance. When you order through trade assurance, vendors tend to offer their very best services because they dont want a bad review for their company. I am so pleased with this. I hope Alibaba.com will continue to give their buyers more security features like trade assurance and more.
