If you know how to navigate the site and understand how business is done in China you will find Alibaba to be a great service. I really haven't had a bad experience yet. Maybe it's because I've been to China and done actual business and understand the cultural difference.

There are still a lot of issues that need to be fixed when it comes to user experience, but all in all I am super satisfied thus far.
