I had to take Aleks in Middle School. I thought it was pretty easy at first, but as soon as I started getting into more "challenging" topics, I realized how wrong I was. The explanations often didn't help, as they were often incomplete. I struggled a lot on topics before my teacher taught them, and aced them after she did. That shows just how inefficient this program is for teaching students. If you want an math program, I recommend Khan Academy as it is easier and actually feels more rewarding than Aleks

Without even talking about the actual content or topics or how absolutely garbage they are, let's talk about the site's programming.
It's awful. This is the most buggy, piece-of-trash, laziest excuse for a program I have ever used. Buttons are unresponsive and take forever to load.
Our teacher assigns us to do 10 topics of aleks per week. Which, is fine at first. Once you get to about 25 topics left in your grade, it gets bad. Most of them are terribly taught in the explanation section. And of course, in aleks if you miss one problem, it sends you back. Ever since the 5th grade, I've been scared to click the check button because who knows what will happen. If you do get a question wrong, it won't give you a hint at what you did wrong. So, you'll try to do the same thing again and get the same answer. Forcing you to have to take one for the team and read the explanation, which won't help. Overall, terrible experience with aleks over the years. Bashing my head on the sidewalk is better than this.
Edit: I'm a straight A student and I struggle BIG TIME with this program.
The people who created this $#*! are the most evil people on the planet. Why the $#*! is everything locked and it forces you to answer "pre-requisite" questions to move on to another $#*!ing question. IF I KNOW HOW TO DO THE TOPIC WHY THE $#*! DO I NEED TO REDO A PRE REQUISITE QUESTION. I CAN NEVER GET MY WORK COMPLETED BY THE DEADLINE BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID $#*!ING FEATURE. If you are planning on taking a professor that uses this, $#*!ING RUN. IT WILL KILL YOUR GPA. $#*! ALEKS

Ok this thing, what ever it is its slow and every question i get right it says its wrong I even have my teacher check it and my answer is correct and its just... no its terrible.
An awful website, its so slow and annoying. I find the questions so confusing and it look terrible too.
What the title says. I can spend up to 6 hours and only get 20 topics completed, when my teacher expects me to get 53 done in two, while also doing my film editing class. There are 3-5 questions per topic, plus the amount of times it marks you wrong and you have to start all over. If I need to get 53 topics done, that's over 200 questions I have to answer, and I don't have that kind of time. I can't be expected to do math to something we haven't learned in class yet.
Plus, just now, I put in my answer and it marked it wrong. I did the problem the other possible way, and it marked it wrong. Turns out, it's telling me my first answer was correct. What. Kind. Of. BS. Is. That.

Who felt the need of making this? Before my school assigned us to do this program I was averaging an A- in Math but out of the blue my school decided to make us do this and now that A- average I built through 3 years of High School sunk to a C+ because I am currently at an F in Math right now because of having to do Aleks on top of every thing else Seniors have to do and Having an F in math is especially bad since it might effect if i get into college or not so thanks Aleks!
This site is so great I love taking an 1 hour and 20 minutes out of my life to do MATH! I love math even though it makes my brain hurt and lowers my self confidence but this makes it so much worse that is why I love it. I got it wrong even though I get it right so stressful. Love you Aleks!
I think my teacher are addicted to this program. They think we need to be doing up to 30 minutes of math on a website. It doesn't even help kids with math.
This is the worst program/book I have ever used. I used to have a 4.0 until I took this course. After spending up to 60 hours a week trying to get through each module (which I rarely did), I was devastated with the amount of time spent trying to learn each lesson. It was utter torture at times due to the get one right... woohoo... get another one right... hold your breath... then wrong answer you bounce backwards. It get to the point, everytime I went to go click to submit, I would brace myself and hold my breath. I even hired a tutor thinking that would help. My tutor didn't last very long as she didn't seem to answer it the way the program would.
Additionally, it doesn't take into account students in different time zones. So every week I didn't get as much time as everyone else got to spend time in the program.
This program needs to be taken back and withdrawn from all colleges who use it. It is a horrific program that makes students want to drop out of the class.
This is literally this worst program in existence. If the creators cared at all about what they had created they would take ALEKS down forever and considering walking down the long stairway to hell. I was really disappointed when I found out I couldn't give this less than 1 star.
So... today in my math class we had to do this quiz and Aleks didnt explain what we had to do explicitly! We had to do Graph Linear Functions and it didnt state what numbers you had to choose for the input values, and it didnt state how many points had to be on the graph! So yea
Why are you implementing such a horrific program. Are you trying to make students drop out? I don't want to even rate this a 1. I give it a negative 1.
