ALEKS needs to return to the depths of hell from it's from because it is exactly just that. It is the most tedious, annoying, frustrating, tiresome, mentally exhausting program I have ever used, whoever the creator of ALEKS, you are a horrible person and my life has been wasted trying to do Chemistry homework through your system that my university forced me to pay over $100 for. If you can avoid having to use this system for any class, I highly suggest it! LOOK AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO NOT USE ALEKS FOR THAT CURRICULUM AND IF THEY DO, DO ALL OF IT ASAP, the knowledge checks will make you pull your hair out. I HATE YOU ALEKS!
The website is not at all reliable and it doesn't teach us the way it does in school. When you get the right answer it says you don't get it right. Whoever made Aleks is a complete $#*!.
It's annoying, I prefer Khan Academy and what is up with this review I am writing it has to be 100 characters. Either way, I just don't like Aleks because you cannot learn properly and they teach differently than in schools and academies. I just hate it when I use a method that was taught in school and the Aleks Website is to simple-minded to know more than 2 methods even if there are like, I don't know 8 methods for 1 question. Either way it sucks and it wastes my time and the company behind it takes up a bunch of money from some stupid math and chemistry problems. I feel like this a "friendly" scam or just some turd I deal with (It's both a scam and turd, what do you think I gave it a one star). Now for those who read this I respect your opinion, even if you don't agree with me. Personally, I think Alek needs a life.
But because of the bugs it alone makes online classes a waste of time and that makes me really upset because I don't have the time to go in for lectures, I really liked learning at my own pace at first but the bugs giving you "INCORRECT"s for correct answers is just too much and hurts your grade too much. Would give it zero stars if possible.
I gave it one star because I couldn't go any lower. I had to use this bull$#*! for two semesters of college chemistry as one as one semester of college algebra. It is the worst thing in the entire world. It marks thing wrong that are correct and is a complete waste of time and time consuming. It did not help my grade at all in classes, I practiced from the book and still got a an A so obviously $#*!ing aleks did not help. All it did was take all the joy out of my life, made me and alcoholic and contemplated suicide numerous times. I would rather have my gonads smashed with a ball pin hammer than have to do aleks ever again.
It does not help you learn. The explanations make no sense. If you get something wrong, you lose your progress. There are knowledge checks that come along and purge your progress regularly. Just use a calculator.
Aleks was a very good program. Everyone in the class worked at their own pace which was great. The only problem was the teacher would still lecture about the big picture unit or as aleks calls it "Topics." When we got our homework and tests I would get units mixed up and I ended up doing bad in her class. I do not recommend this program.
Aside from constantly having to YouTube Khan Academy, ask for help from my professor, friends and family and only get one lesson done per 2.5 hours, ALEKS truly does suck. It shortcuts explanations, leading you to a level of confusion and stress you've never been to. It gives you lessons on math that I can guarantee you'll never use in real life, like literally never! Oh and those "Knowledge Checks"? Yeah thanks for those, every few hours and then conveniently knocking me back 10-20 lessons on average. It would seem like ALEKS wants you to fail, my friends warned me about this program, apparently I should've listened. Can't believe I payed money for this thing.

Aleks is the worst $#*!ing program to do homework on. It doesn't teach you $#*! and even if you have the right answer sometimes you don't even get it right because the system is too $#*!ed up to read it right. The knowledge checks are a waste of a couple hours of your life. Each time you do a homework assignment it takes 5 $#*!ing hours because if you get one little thing wrong it butt $#*!s you back to the beginning. I would rather choke on my own $#*! than use this program. Whatever ALEKS employee is reading this, I hope you realize how suicidal your program has made students. Everyone who created this can suck a fat $#*!ing $#*!.

This program is horrible. I have know 3 people who have become suicidal because of aleks. Its bull$#*! i dont even do it anymore. I just edit the page. Its the best way to do aleks

Unlike many other programs, this just teaches you the topic and sends you off to a knowledge check, which doesn't help at all. Second, the explanations aren't even explanations, it just shows how you solve it. Last but not least, the knowledge check system is rigged. It makes you take another 30 questions of topics you already mastered even if you get a knowledge check after you learned 9 topics.
The only reason I chose one star is because I am pretending it is a throwing star that I can chuck at Aleks's nonexistent face. The only reason teachers would utilize this program is to torture their students. Stop being lazy and teach your students. You want a pay raise? TEACH YOUR STUDENTS! Aleks is really good at taking a simple topic and turning it into a horrendous nightmare. This is by far the worst learning experience I have ever had. This does NOT make me want to learn at all. Aleks only pisses me off and waists my $#*!ing time!
