There are way too many technical issues with this program. I am the mother of a student who excelled in math all through grade school. We are now at a school that has Implemented ALEKS. My son who was in honor math classes until now is unable to succeed with this program. I am now making it my personal mission To do all that I can to make this right. I also have a niece who's school uses this program. There are several seniors in the school that may not graduate due to this program and this program alone. Yet the program is still being used dispite it's many short comings. I have also found that schools using this program show less than 18% rates of math Proficiency. It's time for change.
This website doesn't help us learn and is the worst teaching tool ever. It also makes you pay to use it after your free trial which I think is a waste of money since there aren't very many features to use.

I've never hated something as much as I hate this Aleks Program. It's annoying af and tedious. I get so angry when the pie chart goes down or I have a knowledge check. I hope this program gets banned cause it's the worst. I haven't learned anything at all from this program and all of my college classes have used it so far. I hate you aleks if I could give no stars I would.
It seems as if this website has never ending topics. When you get an answer wrong, you have to start ALL OVER from square 1. I hate this website so much. I have barely learned anything new.
If you know what I ready is this is far, far worse and its just another way to make students stray away from their potential to be great students. Instead they cause kids to lose interest in school. I absolutely hate this program and feel as if it made me lose interest in math.

Effectiveness- 2/5 You dont really learn anything. If you were to take a test on the same stuff a month after completing it, you'd fail.
Consistancy- 1/5 I gave the exact answer the system did and it still marked it wrong. It didnt even show me where I messed up (bc i didn't)
User Friendliness- 1/5 The videos you can pull up when you are working a problem are sometimes not even remotely useful or theyre on a completely diferent subject. You cant use the calculator 90% of the time, so spend $30 bucks on a graphing calc.
Sanity- 2/5 I had a little more restraint when dealing with this program than with Carnegie. I cried a little.
My girlfriend and I have had to suffer through this horrendous trashpile excuse of a program. I hope whoever made it is either dead or in the long and painful process of dying. And I hope any supporters of this worthless program are to follow.
I hated this so much. It's basically the teachers way of saying $#*! you i don't want to do my job and teach let me put you on this $#*!ed program and then say to your parents you re not doing good and you don't know why. $#*! ALeks!
This is so painful. This increases my seizure activity and i think I'm starting to die just thinking of it.The point is if i could kill this website i would because it causes abortions and more. This should be removed right now for the future of humankind.
Aleks math not only just sucks, major $#*!, but it literally teaches you nothing. You go over maybe two or three questions per problem, and all depending on how many you get right, it could be more, could be less. Besides the fact I hate math in general, this made me hate it more along with my entire life and high school career. I actually dropped out it was so bad, and then I decided to try a new school just to find out they use Aleks as well.
This is one of the most painful things I have ever done in my life. To start with, the basic skills test took me and the rest of my class at least 8 hours to do. If you get a question wrong, you have to start from the beginning and then it is a never ending cycle. You feel your sanity start to slip away as you nervously enter your answers into the system over and over again. Your mental health declines and instead of having fun with friends or doing things like eating, you stay in your dorm room and wither away. The questions and knowledge checks and wrong answers fill your head as your desperately try to finish 200+ topics with 5 questions each. Your friends come to check on you but you are furiously entering functions, fractions, and domains into the program to the point where you are unresponsive. You see flashbacks from when you bought the program for your class. You enter your CC information and immediately, you hear thunder strike and children screaming outside your dorm. You have sold your soul to the devil. Enjoy your time with Aleks!
Another issue with this program is the students are required to go to the school in the summer for assistance or for knowledge checks. This is impossible for me to get him there mid day. I am a working parent and the school is 35-40 minutes from our home. Since I am not able to get him there he has not done any work on over summer break due to needing a teachers assistance to do Math. He very much needs one on one from a teacher to be successful. This Math program has been a nightmare since day 1.
My son uses this program. It is not made for individuals who need repetition to get the hang of a topic. It jumps around so much and required you to remember everything when there is a knowledge check. My son was doing OK in school until he entered this program it has been a nightmare for him. I am not happy with the schools choice to use it.
Horrible it gets way to hard and is torture on the students! It didn't help at all they just hated it and there IQs went down! I did a test before and after and there IQs Dropped 14% on Average!
I've spent over two months trying to finish this stupid thing and the questions are so ridiculously hard I can't even remotely answer, them even with outside help! Also the line of best fit is impossible because they want a very very specific number and how the heck am I suppose to do that while on a tiny screen? It's so ridiculous and will ruin my gpa
So yeah just spent my whole summer learning countless topics feeling achieved only to take the final and $#*!ing fail utterly. Idek how I failed but it makes me wanna punch a tree during winter. Overall Aleks is a terrible program, Ive spent too much time learning $#*! that I never knew at all.
