This program is such a waste of time and money. It literally does not let you move forward until you get the lesson all finished. I'm in college and this $#*! is wasting my time. I have other homework to work on than to keep getting a point taken away if I make a small mistake. This will NOT help me in my life, and instead, is really testing my patience. Aleks is the biggest joke ever and should not be given to students. The traditional book and questions are much more helpful than this piece of trash. All of my classmates are struggling to get this stupid homework finished, and my professor had to call their support system to lower the proficiency because Aleks sets it at 100%. Mind you, my math professor changed it to 30%, that is how much people are stressing out over this non-helpful academic tool. Makers of Aleks, I wasted a LOT of time on this so thanks for nothing. By the looks of all the other reviews on here, take some advice, and shut it down. I feel bad for future students if my math program continues to give this $#*!ty website a chance. My course was the first year to have this and it is NOT helpful nor helping me with math, but instead, making me even more frustrated and hating the subject more so than before.
The program is very useless and frustrating to work with. It does not explain all possible exceptions on how to work the problem. You cant move on to other topics either so if you are stuck on a topic, oh well, you cant move on. I HATE THIS PROGRAM! It makes me want to throw my laptop across the room. I am a straight A student until this class. VCU needs to get rid of the program.

Was trying to actually learn Chemistry 3A but instead I spent over 125 hours doing Aleks online homework and learned nothing except how to figure out the ins and outs of Aleks. The work was tedious, the explanations were terrible and because all i could do was focus on trying to get my HW points I fell behind on studying for tests and actually LEARNING THE MATERIAL.(Which I thought was the purpose of going to college.)
Terrible, laggy and frustrating. Does not educate but rather teaches kids to learn a pattern and then repeat. Not to mention software is unsophisticated, ugly and extremely unresponsive. A no-go for anyone who truly cares about their experience.
We are university students taking Chemistry, if that sounds bad ALEKS makes it 1000x worse! It complains if things are correct, and marks you wrong (deducting a point), when it is not clear as to what it wants. If you click on the explanation, points will also be deducted. DO NOT USE!
I am a sixth grade math student and my math teacher believes this garbage can help us. Well she is wrong! Every time you get an answer right it gives you a point then when you get one wrong it takes the point away and this can be very frustrating to students and it can leave you in the dust! If you use the quick tables it is trash! I took the knowledge test and only got 6 problems wrong and now it says I know 34% of the fact. It ticked me off! There was over 100 problems! It never explains how to do things well and I get almost every question wrong! I am an all A student and this makes a big dent in my grade I have a C-in math write now and MATH IS MY FAVORITE SUBJECT!
This program is crap, I put in an easy problem that I double checked and it came up as wrong. Then I checked it again and the answer I put in was the answer that they said was correct but still marked me wrong. They have the worst explanations in the world and I am now failing because of it. I am want to beat my head in with a baseball bat every time I log on.

ALEKS Have slightly one good perk and that's the reviewing, but as far as being a requirement for a college class, IT SUCKS. It wastes my time by forcing me to a halt. Incomplete assignments mean lower grades. I can't complete them because ALEKS way of teaching sucks sooo badly its unreal. The process of unlimited tries for half of the year and limited tries for the other half is such a confound move. How did i go from having a 98% in math class to a freakin 76%?!?! If i could I would give this all the Negative electrons in the world.

Whoever made Aleks is probably hiding in a bunker from the angry mob of sleep deprived students who want nothing more than to egg his face and force feed him sugarless gummy bears. Teachers only love it because they can sit back and surf the web while their students kill their own sanity. Also, the explanations are total crap, honestly, how can the creators sleep at night knowing their money is coming from these poor suffering people, the answer? They've become so money hungry that they have forgotten everything else and no longer care who is dying inside. In conclusion, YOU WILL FEEL YOURSELF AND YOUR SANITY WITHERING AWAY WHILE YOU SIT IN FRONT OF YOUR COMPUTER SCREEN FOR 7 HOURS!

I'm an eighth grade student, and we use Aleks. My teacher uses it as a grade, and I was at 39% but got pushed back almost 5% for a knowledge check. Each percent is 10 topics, so to get to the 45% I need to be at will be 110 topics. It's due at 11:59 tonight. Literally doesn't help anything, and who knows how my grade is going to be after this. Smh please get rid.
That moment when you just want the pain to go way and there are safety scissors in the corner. That is what I feel like every time I log onto aleks. They say we use it to save paper, but I don't give a $!@% about trees. I just like it the old fashioned way.
I am failing my Pre-Algebra class because I was taught differently but I still have the correct answer. All this does is throw problems at me and does not teach me crap. The topics are thrown at me all at once, too. Teaching math isn't the same as swimming, you can't just throw me into the water and expect me to swim. The site is horrible in general and I hope it gets take down in the near future.
I need all that extra bleach to keep myself sane while using this program. I take a sip every time I don't understand a problem. After each successful problem I vomit out the bleach, and I find myself passing out more often than vomiting it out.

Hey, thanks you horrible homework platform for giving me 350 topics that snowball into 1500 problems if you literally get every question right. Screw that, I'm not wasting my time with this garbage. I put my time into a little bit of tutoring and it helped me much more than this, I get B's now. If I get one question wrong while I'm learning each subject I would do an additional 350-700 questions because I can't move on without getting everything right. Is this an engineering class? No, it's college algebra. Sorry, I didn't think that I had to have a 100% to consider myself eligible to move on.
