Honestly, ALEKS is not the best, but I like how it congratulates you on finishing a topic, even if it gave you the topic in the first place. If you have unending patience, I would advise, be careful. Some people hate it, some people love it, and some people can't see the other side of the conversation. Just because the teachers think it helps us learn doesn't mean it does. How about they try 100 minutes and 8 topics a week?

I cry every single day! Whenever I have to do aleks. Whenever I start a new topic I will usually get one of them right and then the next problem I get wrong and it takes away the The point I earned on the first question. It just goes back-and-forth. It takes me way longer than it should to get one topic done. I hate it so bad I'll literally scream at the computer. It has given me a grade that I didn't want in math just because I didn't reach my "aleks goal" because it takes me so freaking long to do one single topic. I hope Aleks sees this and sees the pain I'm going through. Makes me want to die. Aleks sucks and doesn't help me at all. It makes me feel like crap.

Doing Aleks is the most terrible thing for me this year. It makes me nauseated. Stay away from it. Many Alkes' explanations and concepts are very general and unclear, it skips some procedures and formula. It is a very low effective website, which pushes people to try to pass the questions not to really learn from it. I am confused about instructors in colleges if they know how students hate Aleks and ineffective with it, and why are they still using Aleks?. I was required by my instructor to finish all topics more than 100 in Aleks to have full credit, which counts for 15% of my whole points, otherwise, I received 0 credit on Aleks module although I did 98% of my Alkes, what is the point between 1% and 98%? Is there any contract or agreement between Aleks's company and some schools, I don't really know.

If you are a teacher or institution looking for an online program, please for the sake of all that is holy avoid ALEKS it the largest waste of my time as a student. I learn absolutely nothing, there is no consistency in question type or answer response, and I end up frustrated and googling answers so that I can get on with my life. Whoever invented this hellish website is either mentally handicapped or has a sick sense of humor. Don't waste your time or money trying to learn anything with this program.

Maryville University seems to be on a quest to completely eliminate their use of physical textbooks, and ALEKS is their most recent blunder.
-We didn't even have access to our textbooks until 2 weeks into the semester.
-The "objectives" are not tied to chapters, so there's no connection between what you are being suggested to do and what your professor will discuss or quiz you on.
-The assignments and prompts are clunky, and haphazardly put together.
-These materials almost completely eliminate instructor interaction over your work until the test date.
-It is very possible that the suggested methods in the E-book assignments will not match up to how you are expected to arrive at an answer.
-This is below the standard of what I expected to pay for from any college or university.
-The frustration never ends, and no one cares because this garbage must be a cash cow.

If you have aids and don't have to do Aleks. I'm am jealous. You should be grateful your gonna die at 20. If I had a gun with 2 bullets and I was in a room with Hitler, The creator of Aleks and Stalin, I would shoot the creator of Aleks twice. This website causes cancer and permanent brain damage. If you make an account on this website you will want to overdose on milk. This app should have some symptoms listed in the TOS. Those symptoms should be: Aids, Suicidal Thoughts, Virginity, Depression, Brain Loss, and much more. I would rather remove my ribs so that I can suck on my own #&$%. Don't get this app. Ever. You will regret it.

I'd much rather sit and watch a documentary of grass growing narrated by Ned Flanders than have to do a single more knowledge check from Aleks. In the name of all the disgraced souls that have spent hours trying to see how long it takes to put their head through a wall rather than have to do Aleks, please kill this website. Out of 181 websites reviewed, this website comes out 181st. The insanity needs to stop. Whatever professor that reads this and still chooses Aleks is choosing a long, hard, arduous and sufferable road for their students, and a painful cliff dive in amiability for their reputation.

Gosh, where to even begin. I am forced to use this at my college for Math. It is PAINFUL. You can not learn anything through this program, and there are no books for the course. You complete the problems as asked and EVERY day you work on it the system gives you a "pop assessment". If you do mediocre on the assessment, be prepared to get s*rewed. The system will DRAG YOU BACK your entire time that you worked. It's basically like someone taking an eraser to your homework and wasting hours of your life for a P. O. S. Program. These developers need to give up their careers and go into fast food.

This is the worst site i have ever used, i have never wanted to kill myself more than ever if you are a teacher or parent reading this just know that half the teenagers that have killed themselves is because of this site it is actual garbage and has only taught me that it take only 3 ml of bleach to kill your self or how to properly slit your throat open. I no longer have any sanity or will to live this is the main reason school suck i was an innocent child until aleks was introduced into my life i am now ruined for the rest of my life all because of this site and i mean why does the creator of the site look like hes been smoking for 50+ years.

Genuinely an awful website to teach students with, when every question is wrong it does not give an in-depth explanation on how to fix your work on the next question, The lessons are not long enough for a student to properly understand the assignment, the system that this website has does not encourage learning but frustration. Please never ever use this website.

Reward system was very effective. Aleks was so very excruciatingly painful that I felt the need to complete it. And I did. So I guess it worked. Pain has been inflicted on me so that's zero stars. But one extra star for an effective reward system.

This piece of website garbage has literally taken a mental toll on me and many others. It has caused depression in many students and has caused there to be several hundred dollars in repairs for broken laptops over the years. I have wasted about a total of a bajillion hours trying to solve math problems no one will EVER need to know, and principals and equations only a literal rocket scientist will need in their life. I don't understand why we need to know this and not actual things that matter. So PLEASE take down this broken-$#*! website and leave it to rot in hell.

ALEKS has potential to be an amazing learning tool, but thats about it. The topics requiring a certain amount of correct answers in a row makes it hard to focus on the material, and the explanations only seem to make it more confusing. ALEKS expects every user to know the "basic rules of math" and expect you to just know why and how something happened. After going through tons of topics like this, you then have to take a knowledge check, and inevitably have to redo a ton of topics afterwards because of the poorly organized structure. If you are good at math, maybe this is a resource you should use, but if you just want to learn, this isn't it.
