I spent 30 minutes doing an entire page's worth of work for two problems, and because the heat vaporization of solid acetic acid isn't the same as the one for acetic acid they only list on their page, i got a problem wrong and now i have to do all my work again. I wasted $#*!ing 30 minutes of my life doing nothing, i'm not even sure if what i'm doing is gonna be on the test because it's such tedious busywork. $#*! this piece of trash, the people who made this need to hurry up and die please

ALEKS is frustrating. It is slow. It is unfair. It can't explain anything comprehensively. For starters, the program locks you out of completing your homework and forces you to do review occasionally. Isn't that my prerogative as a student? Additionally, the software punishes you for answering questions incorrectly however minor the mistake. Sometimes it will even give you a more challenging question than the last for not understanding the prior question. How the f**k does that help in any way? The explanations are terrible and there's next to no help around the internet unless you want to poor money into the pockets of the greasy incompetent pigs at Chegg. Whoever made ALEKS is not doing anyone a favor for their education. Pearson's software is eons better. I am not exaggerating one bit when I say that I vehemently hate ALEKS. Let me jsut start off by saying aleks has to be one of the worst websites for education. I don't know if there was some lead in the air or somethin when they designed this website. But no one with one brain cell would call this a good website. Hell ive almost put a chunk of lead into my head because of aleks. I also have no clue what the $#*! the school was smoking when they though that aleks was a good idea, but $#*! give me some of that. I have never heard anyone say that they enjoy or learned anything from aleks

Where do i start. The creator of ALEKS is literally the reincarnation of adolf hitler. This website makes me want to travel to Auschwitz and snort the ashes. Because of ALEKS, i cant clean my clothes because i drank all the laundry detergent. If you are a math teacher reading this, do the smart choice and teach in person, not with the $#*! attack called ALEKS. Aleks is responsible for all the 800,000 deaths by suicide each year. Thank you for considering my review.

$#*! ALEKS and everything it stands for! $#*! whoever created ALEKS! How high do you have to get to create a system that completely $#*!s over kids. This program alone will make a lot of kids fail 9th grade. Not even molesters like torturing minors this much! Whoever made this $#*!ed up program can go skin themself with a nail clipper.

Honestly at this point murdering 6.5 Million people looks like nothing, once you experience Aleks, I'd rather spend 5 years in a concentration camp and get gassed, than i would spend 5mins in a math class with Aleks. Even the teachers hate it. Honestly speaking Hitler is a better human being and did more for human rights and equality than Aleks will ever do.

Listen very carefully - if you have any consideration for the sanity of your students, don't make them go through this. 10 questions take 2 hours. Missing a comma marks the question you've been doing for 10mins completely wrong. My classmates have taken blows to their self-esteem and drive to study. This class was a main reason 1/3 of my chem class dropped out within a month. It's the reason chem went from my favourite subject to the one I absolutely loathe. Please. If you care about your students and what they think of you, don't make them use this.

Like most other reviews here, i've been using aleks at my school for 3 years so far and every year i've only learned to hate it more. It's so unforgiving in it's methods that if you get a single problem wrong when doing topics, you lose the progress you made before and are given a new topic. It leaves no room for error.
It doesn't do a good job teaching you new subects as it'll give you the easiest problem possible as a demonstration on how to do it, then throw you into the hardest problem that can give you. It's just a massive headache and it's a pain that most schools still use this.
All i can say is that if your school uses aleks, go to the math department and protest it. Tell them to throw it out in favor of a different alternative. Sign a petition if you need to. Do not stand for this program if you hate it this bad.

I am an A+ math student! For me, math was pretty easy but when my school recommended Aleks, my math life was a turn.

-Aleks gives NO clear explanation, you're only lucky if you can find a video explaining the topic rather than making you go through it.

-Aleks should only be used to Reteach topics rather than make them learn new ones, I only passed through most of my Aleks because I've either learned it or used a calculator

-Frustrating! Punishing you to do a question all over again and telling you that you have to read the useless bland explanation in order to get it right.

-You won't pass Aleks unless you're a math prodigy, I've never met someone who hasn't used a calculator, get a friend's help, or watch other videos when on this "so called good website."

-Guess what? Once you're done, you have to do a knowledge check, it's basically a review on all the things you've learned, if you forgot something on that once particular question.

You do the damn thing all over again.

I hate this. Our teacher makes us do so many a week, and they're not even relevant to what we're doing. Also we get points taken off if we get one wrong. This app is $#*! and i dont even know half of the $#*! thats on it. And the videos? They dont help. I HATE ALEKS!

Overall I think the concept of Aleks is okay. But the fact that if you miss a question you have to keep trying over and over again is frustrating as a student. Especially when certain topics are hard and you have to keep doing them over and over. I don't like the fact that you can take one step forward and two steps back. I think that if you get a question right it should stay instead of being erased by mistake mistake. That doesn't actually happen in the real world. I wish professors would listen to their students about what website to use.

I was required to use this program for my school in order to pass my chem and math classes. It has taught me both in the most ineffective and aggravating way possible. It does a very poor job of teaching me how I'm supposed to solve a question by demonstrating an easy one and then giving me one to do one my own that is ALWAYS 10x harder. Not only that but when I get it wrong it doesn't explain to me what's wrong and punishes me by moving me further back in the module. Not to mention that there are over 300 modules for both classes. The way that this stupid program not only wastes my time but just doesn't teach me anything useful. I would have a much more fun and effective learning experience watching a video on YouTube than doing anything from this program. Anyway literally caused me to cry multiple times and I wish schools didn't make their students use this program when there are a plethora of better options.

Very trashy. If you want to have depression, feel free to try this program. $#*! This piece of $#*!. The creator of aleks, jean-claude falmagne, looks like a $#*! In' axe murderer.

P.S. And for CIA and FBI members, if your prisoner won't confess, use this $#*! To torture them and they would be guaranteed to talk

I feel terrible for anyone who has the misfortune to use this website. Its like hell couldnt reach us so it came in the form of this "learning" website. It always glitches so i have do all of my assignments all over again. And it never lets me redo assignments if i get a bad score. I hope this site gets taken down because no one should have to use this website unless they commited a murder and this is the punishment. This site is a worse fate than death. Please teachers/administrators who are reading this, dont make your students have to go through this living hell called Aleks.

I very rarely write reviews, let alone bad ones, but this... oh boy. This is a good application if your teacher doesn't want to teach you. Explanations are absolutely terrible, so good luck learning anything, just go to YouTube. You get no partial credit for things such as a misplaced number or the smallest mistake, not a big issue, but annoying. The mechanics of the features are not very intuitive. There is no progression it just randomizes the questions with easy and hard ones, so if you get an easy one and move on, you won't understand how to do the harder ones. For those that may say, "people that hate this application just don't understand the math." The point of the application is for you to learn from it, that's why you're using it. If it doesn't teach well, then what is the point of it? Overall it gets the job done, but in the worst possible way.
