The overall reputation of the company reflects significant concerns regarding customer service and product quality. While some customers appreciate the low prices and variety of private brand items, many express frustration with poor service, including unhelpful staff and inadequate responses to complaints. Common issues include subpar product quality, particularly with perishables, and a lack of support during shopping experiences, such as long wait times for assistance. This feedback suggests a need for improved employee training and quality control measures to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Offers a good price on varieties of items. This is why I'm a shopper there who comes back. However, a recent experience left me incredibly frustrated and unwilling to return. I picked up a few things for dinner yesterday a couple of days ago. I was almost done with my shopping when I realized I'd forgotten one crucial item. As I turned to go back for it, an employee stopped me and told me I couldn't finish it because they were closing. It happened around 8:45pm. I don't think denying access to the aisle 15 minutes before their posted closing time just to get a box of cheesy bread was fair.
A week an a half it took to ripen & look how nasty it is. Won't be buy anymore organic item from Aldi's. In the beginning the organic were great, now terrible quality.
The new aldis up on King Hwy across from Walmart. I went in there to get something's and I forgot to get something I was going back to get it and they told me I could not because they are closing. They even told an elderly lady that she could not finish shopping and get the rest of her stuff. I would think they would let us get the stuff we need and then go to register at least give us at least 5 mins or so they started this like 8:45 they had 15 mins before they close. I thought that would not be allow. I just think people should know what is happening there. Thank you. I only need 1 more thing.
Why does ALDI need to buy Chinese vegetables?...very disturbing! The Chinese have threatened the US with nuclear weapons...they are NOT our friends.
I usually shop Aldis for the price and good quality private brand items. I have never gone there for service as most of the times, the employee/s try not to make eye contact in case you ask a question and that will put them behind on the goals for the day. Anyway, today I visited their store in Tampa, FL, off Bearss and Fletcher. I was there for their family pack of boneless chicken breast. There was one on the shelf and grabbed that and I asked the team member if he had more. He said yes, it is at the bottom of this stack, give me a few minutes, go do you shopping, and I will have it out for you. I did my shopping and went back, and he was gone. I grabbed other chicken. As I was moving towards the checkout, I saw the gentleman walking towards the meat section. I said to him " I am disappointed by your service". He stated, "Why is that". I said, " because you told me to finish my shopping and you would be to the box of chicken, I didn't expect you to go on a break". He got agitated and said, " I haven't had a break all day", this was around 2pm. I said, "That is not my problem" and walked away. I walked to the checkout and asked the cashier, Zachary, what was the name of the gentleman by the meat section. He says, "I think it's Tyler", I said, "You think?". I then asked him for the corporate number, and this is where I really felt insulted. He gets on the paging system and says, " hey, does anybody know the corporate office number?" I said to him, "It is pathetic if you can't find your corporate office number on your own or ask a mgr. To come up". The store number listed on my receipt was #55. Needless to say, I will not be visiting Aldi's again. This is one person's experience and opinion. At least when I go to Walmart, I expect very little service or none, but I was shocked at my Aldi's experience. Their customer care center is a joke. I told the lady, Maria, everything that transpired and then she proceeds to put me on a 5-minute hold so she could document my statements. You never place an unhappy customer on hold and then come on say, I am going to transfer you to another customer care specialist who will take additional statements from you. I declined and thanked for NOT helping. I was hoping to speak with a District Manager or Vice President, but that will not happen. I believe that their lean labor model burns out employees as this is reflective in their attitude. Lean labor model + private brand offerings = Low prices 7 years running. Price beats service every day. I have learned my lesson with Aldi's and will take my hard-earned money to another retailer. Happy Holidays!
As a mobility-impaired person, I found it distressing to have the cashier shut down the register as soon as I made it to the self-checkout kiosk. This woman always gives me a difficult time and I try to avoid her like the plague. All I was looking for was a scanning gun that worked but instead I got a hassle, again. The cashier tried to tell me when I went to a different kiosk that Aldi's wants all customers to empty their carts, scan the items, and then put them back into the cart. Why are there guns then? What about when you have a lot of items? Avoid the Niagara Falls, location until Sam is gone.
Prices have doubled and tripled and product is smaller and quality is awful! Special by products are no longer available. Stores are dark, dreary, and dirty. I've been a shopper at Aldi for 30 years, but I will no longer shop at Aldi ever again.
Often my bag of potatoes have rotten potatoes in the middle of the fresh. Lemons too. Old lemons have been placed along with the fresh. Purchased bag of avocados. Black inside after second day of purchase. Why has Aldi lowered their standards?
When my grocery order said it was Delivered, but never actually arrived, I called Aldi Customer Service to find out what was going on.
After 36 minutes on the phone, the only solution offered was a partial refund that did not include tip and service fee. I requested that the order be replaced and was also denied that. This service stole my money and Customer Service would not take any responsibility for that; instead calling it the problem of an "outside company." (To be clear, the representatives on the phone were doing what they could with the obviously very dismissive and cold script they had to work with).
Do not use this service.
The two guys that have been there a while in White Settlement are rude and disrespectful. Everywhere I shop with my dog,Walmart,Russell feed, Walgreens and Supercuts Etc. People are very friendly and compliment me on my dog he is a little verbal sometimes especially when we first walk into the store and then he stops talking. The only people that have ever complained are the two guys in Aldi with the bad attitude that's it! There are times I don't feel good and I need to get a couple of things in a hurry but I can't go into Aldi because those jerks complain and cry about my dog making noise. I have showed the People in all the emailed them my papers showing them that he's my service dog and then I'm gonna disabled veteran but apparently they don't care!
I've been looking for a friend for a microwave egg boiler for some time. I was delighted when I found them recently on Aldi's shelves for $3. I bought two egg boilers as gifts and one little egg boiler spatula to go with it.
The first person didn't want the gift, which I'm happy for now. Because when I tried to use it at 3 minutes the egg yolk was nowhere close to done. I have a 1000 W microwave, the max it says you can use on the instructions. So I upped it to the 5-minute level - it was still not done. Holding my breath and hoping not to hear the sizzle sizzle from aluminum foil or metal inside a microwave, I did it for 7 minutes. Not only was the egg not done, but that was the last time my microwave would work, two or three days ago. We have unplugged it, plugged it back in reset all the settings, and still the heater will not work. The warranty on the heater says they will have someone come out for $200 plus tax and maybe fix it.
Or, as we have opted, we will have to replace the entire microwave for about $346. Very dissatisfied customer. Obviously, both egg boilers and the spatula are going back, but $10 will not touch $346. Thanks a lot!
I had not shopped at Aldis in many years and today I was reminded why! Starting with quarter that's required to unlock the shopping cart which I did not have and had to make change to jump that hurdle. Then I noticed that the cashier with the robotic demeanor was placing my items directly into the card un-bagged. When I inquired she stated that I had to purchase the bags. I also was not impressed with the quality of their fresh fruits. These are all the reasons this store chain is at the bottom of the list with respect to grocery stores nationwide. If in fact they're passing the savings to customers these savings are not worth the headache and the substandard quality they're offering.
Aldi and ferex car vac - just rubbishI purchased car vac some months ago and as is my habit, tossed out the receipt not expecting to have any issues. I didn't use for some time so I didn't experience the problem until I did. The unit simply didn't work. I got in touch with the supplier, "action spares, Uncle Bill Australia". I guess the name says it all. Anyhow after getting in touch I was asked to supply the following information. Wow!
Full name
- Residential Address including POSTCODE
- Postal Address (if different)
- Phone number
- Attach your purchase receipt/bank transaction
- Confirm that the replacement/s can be left at the front door if no one is home
- As per manual part number required and how many
- Product code/model number
- Picture of the sticker on the faulty product/item
- For Missing parts claim please attach a picture of the manual and parts description list circled plus picture of all parts you do have.
- Picture of the fault
- Video of the fault
This for a car vac that costs like $40... nevertheless I provided all the requested info except for the receipt. (sometimes I pay cash, sometimes cc. My cc didn't have the required confirmation of purchase, so the claim has been rejected).
BTW, the claim was escalated to someone called Gordon who assured me he was there to help me, who requested editing permission for the video I sent as proof the unit was faulty. Now, why would he want that?, but went on to say that without a receipt, sorry, no can do.
My reply was courteous (and not what I really wanted to say!).that I'd spent enough time on the claim and it simply wasn't worth any more time.
Bottom line... If you can purchase a similar product from another company do so. Aldi may be "good different" and that is certainly the case when it comes to getting service, "Not good, indifferent" more like it.
There was only two lines open; both were full but we go to the line where the people has the least items because the other line had two families that their cart was overfill. The cashier looks and is and says you will need to go to the other line. My husband said that's why we came to your line because we did not want to wait behind the families with carts full. We leave our cart in his line and leave
So as always. Soon as I go in Aldi I always get a Box (Not A Lot Of Food) so I go to check out the Man THROW ALL MY FOOD OUT THE BOX. I was really piss off. Not one Cashier Ever did that They swipe it and put it back in the box nice like I had it. But some NEW GUY throw my food in it's really sad to have some one work there like that. I will never shop there again along as he's there. Need better people. This was today 3/8/2024 at 1:20
One star is all this aldi deserve. I was in the store here in Stockbridge ga and I accidentally dropped a bottle of hot sauce. I went to one of the customers service people and he was on the phone and before I got a chance to say anything he calls someone else to help me. It took Tanisha about 15 minutes just to get a mop and I was willing to clean up my mess but she had an attitude and said "I'll do it" then walk away and makes a comment about "Something must be wrong with him". It was disrespectful and unprofessional, I was trying to be responsible and did not deserve this treatment.
Never buy cheesy bread from aldi it just tastes like dough. 0/10 most bland thing i've ever had. Ruined my pizza night appetizer.
It is one nasty store. Kids running all over the store and nothing said to the parents about them being unsupervised. There is no customer service to help you in the self checkout when items are not ringing up right I don't intend to sit there and wait 20 minutes for someone to side to come and help me. I remember why I stopped going after the first time many years ago after the day's experience they have not changed. They're off brand food might be cheap but it's not worth the aggravation...
I'm done with our neighborhood Aldi. The cashier tonight was horrible (that's a first by the way) but I've always struggled with produce quality, is already bad or will be soon. Bought a frozen pizza tonight, bad bad quality.
My Thursday my daughter bought salmon in Bloomington, IN of of 3rd St. 30 minutes after she ate it, she threw up and was up all night throwing up. Aldi leaves their fish out for way to long.
