What a disappointment. The seafood platter for 2 was definitely not worth $85. Deep fried horrible. No thought even to the presentation. Go to the fish and chip vans outside for far better value. The service was hit and miss also. I won't be going back.
I have reserved a room for my wife and sister-in-law from travel agent in Jakarta. It was clear in online reservation when is Check-in and Check-out, also the length of stay. But, when they arrived at the hotel and do register processes, Agoda has never confirmed or gave the guest details to hotel administration. And the worst thing is, they can stay in the hotel for four hours. I have filled the date of C/I and C/O so why they can stay for four hours. Furthermore, the customer service didn't understand or may be need more training how to deal with customer.
Had booked a hotel stay in Rome via agoda. Hotel now understandably closed due to pandemic, however, agoda refuses to provide refund, absolutely shocking. We will have to go sue them now. Do not use them, there are many other more trustworthy providers to choose from
I really like using Agoda to book hotels when travelling, they do offer some of the best prices around. I have been using Agoda for the past 5 years. The only negative is that it is extremely disappointing that your reward points expire after 12 months.
Hotel listings that are not posted as non refundable until after you book a reservation.
None existent customer service. Just a drop down table style menu that cycles you through a list.
Prices that are very appealing but fake because the hotels either don't have availability or Agoda's booking is not recognized by the Hotel. But it's too late because Agoda has your creditcard and it will be charged regardless. Trying to contact customer will only lead to frustration. I was directed by the automated menu to contact the hotel. The hotel told me there was no reservation and to contact Agoda because they are responsible for processing the payment.
I ended up paying for a reservation I never received. Tried a charge back from my creditcard provider. But it was declined because Agoda claims I was a no show and that the booking was non refundable.
I have used Agoda for a number of years all over Asia India China etc and found the booking process confirmations etc very good. I have not had any problems. The only negative comment deals with loyalty points very confusing and dont last enough time Cant link my points with my Partner
So I was charged for two nights in New Orleans. I called the hotel - no reservation. I called Agoda - no reservation. However, I was charged. I had to dispute them with my credit card company. Absolutely awful company who steals.
Tried to cancel a hotel stay due to Covid19 surge. It is impossible to get an actual person on the line. The app puts you in infinite circular loops, the phone line gets you in bot loops as well and hangs up on you promptly whenever you reach a point where the system is no longer interested in answering your questions. If you are 100% certain you are going on a trip and want the cheapest of prices with zero service, use this rubbish, otherwise stay well clear of it. It's not worth the aggravation.
Agoda has been a great experience for me. It allows you to check hotels by rating, also by location with very helpful information. It includes travel time to where you need to go and what things there are to do. The site is very user friendly and the photos along with the helpful explanations will make booking your choice easy.
Have used this site many times over the years when travelling in Asia. Never had any problems, rooms have always matched my expectations and all hotels and apartments have happily fulfilled any 'special requirements' (high floor, sea view etc) I have requested. I find this site to be reliable.
They say best price guarantee and do not honor it. I booked a year early and checked other sites here and there and found cheaper. Submitted my price match after reviewing their guidelines and what is need to make my claim and I have to keep going back and forth with them. Everytime it is a different reason why it is denied. Everything matches with a lower price but they keep making up a reason why it's denied. Now they're saying the Priceline cheaper price is due to a promo which is false. You Google the stay date hotel and everything and it comes in lower even when I don't login as a member. They DO NOT price match. Will never book my stays with them ever again.
I have been a client for a couple of years already, and couldn't be more happier as until now all of my choices and bookings were accurate and cheaper compared even to many of my own hotels preferred guest memberships.

I set up a hotel reservation with agoda for Scottsdale Arizona. Received a confirmation email from them they took money from my account. Checked in to the hotel only to find out they did not have my reservation. Called agoda and had a bad connection (this happened every time I contacted them.) they said they would contact the hotel. They did but they had no rooms. I then ask Agoda where I was going to stay that night they had no help. Four hours later I found a room with out their help. I then had to find a room for the next three nights. I had to go 10 miles away and drive that distance everyday.
Do yourself a favor don't use this company.

I have booked an elite room stay in ootty through agoda. After reaching the place the receptionist from the resort told me that there is no room available. I have started my conversation in English. But I heard that the hotel guys made the check in for a offline booking instead of waiting for My booking which payed 100% in Advance. I was with my 3 months old baby and my wife and It was late night as well. I recommend not to book any place which mentioned OYO in their name because OYO is the hotel partner in India for agoda and it is worst
When I booked a room to spend overnight in Istanbul to get my connecting flight next day unexpectedly my flight was canceled and the agency offered me another flight outside of Turkey. I already booked the hotel and they did not want to give me a refund no matter the mistake is not mine. No voucher was issued either. Very disappointed of their business
A great no fuss booking site - love the easy to follow lead in information, instructions and clear accommodation pricing and information layout.
I had been searching most of the evening for the best deal, got frustrated with other sites, their prices increasing and changing every time I viewed their site.
So saw a pop up dialog box with other sites and decided to look up Agoda - Yay! A winner.
Beware of this company, first time I used their services to book a hotel room and after I confirmed and paid with my credit card, on check in day they emailed the hotel to advise them about my transaction, which they stated was made with a fraudulent credit card, the hotel then went ahead and cancelled my reservation, but Agoda still charged my credit card for the room. When I contacted their customer service I was told I needed to submit documentation of charges to receive a refund, I did and I'm still waiting. The headache of dealing with these unprofessional people is not worth the few bucks you could save.

To the sites credit I was told I would receive a refund about 2 hours after I wrote them complaining.
I was informed this refund would occur 7-10 days later.
Not sure why they charge the fee in the first place or why it takes so long to refund it. My cc was charged the full amount almost immediately and the refund for the amount minus $15 also happened instantly.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
