Deceitful practices

I reached out with an inquiry about hardship assistance while briefly unable to work due to covid. They sent me to a collection agency. They didn't provide information about what they would do, there was no information given prior to them sending me to the collection agency, they just sent me. My account was only two days overdue. When I reached out to customer service they lied and said it wasn't a collection agency (it is and it is listed on their website as a debt collection agency). They didn't remove it when I told them to, when my account was in good standing. It was deceitful and shockingly vile way to treat a customer.

After pay... rip off...

Purchased a product, returned the product to the store, Aldo credited my account and after pay continued to take my payments, I have fought with them through emails for the last 4 weeks, can't call them and then I get a call from Racheal and saying that they don't owe me any money, how is that when I took the product back and after pay kept on taking my bi weekly payments... then I ask to speak to a Manger and she said they will get to me, I recieved an email stating that they don't owe me a penny... I go to reply to the email and the email bounces back stating that it can't go through that the recipient email is no longer available... I will never use after pay again... they are thieves...

Horrible

I attempted to placed an order with Forever 21 but it never went through, yet Afterpay still charged me. I contacted both Forever 21 and Afterpay and they both told me there couldn't do anything about it. When i first contacted afterpay for a refund, they told me it would take 5 days. Then i contacted them after the 5 days and they told me it was actually 10 days, so again I waited. I once again contacted them and gave them all the information they had asked previously, the EXACT SAME INFO. They have the nerve to tell me that the order was actually placed on the 6th June and not the 24th of May (while i have literal screenshots and proof) and that it'll take longer to process. So now, I am stuck paying for dresses that i am never going to receive. Long story short, they just steal your money and do nothing to help you out, they just make excuses. I used to love afterpay but i think it's time to say goodbye.

Afterpay! I was dealing with them for 2 1/2 years. Payed Every 2 Weeks. Spending Limit went up, good for me right, WRONG! Just landed a new remote job, printer & computer big time part of job. So I made a last payment to Wayfair $13.27, for some reason the bank took a payment twice, but then returned it. I thought the payment went through. Untill email said payment was late. So email Afterpay right away They respond 3 days later, why have a chat window when NO ONE IS THERE TO CHAT BACK!? So spoke to Tamkia she said "They looked into it and I made 1 late payment so Afterpay lowered my credit $600.00 because of this, Why? Just when I needed them. 1 Payment and I emailed proof of payment on time, but made no difference.

I recently lost my job, I contacted afterpay to put my account on hold whilst I gained other work, wich I quickly did. I paid off the outstanding amount quicker and sooner than the arranged payment plan. Then when I asked and my account restored and able to use it again, they then gave me a lowzy $100 on my account to be able to use. What a joke! Before contacting them and having the hold put on I had a spending limit of over #2000!
Never again will I attempt to do the right thing, especially not with this service

Please, DO NOT go through Afterpay. I did my Christmas Shopping online back in November. It's now March 25th, and still no merchandise. I have spoken with the merchant AND Afterpay, and they both continue to place blame on each other. When I reached out to Afterpay, they specifically said there was nothing I could do and still took the $898 out of my bank account, despite disputing charges. Apparently, there is no resolution with them due to being the "third party." NY&Co (the merchant) issued one refund and Afterpay reversed it. I will be reporting this to the BBB with their emails and will NEVER do business with them again. Save yourselves the trouble and go with ZIP. They are much more helpful and great customer service.

This company allows retailers that are scammers. I purchased a "Dyson -like" hairdryer/ air curler from a place called CURLY. And it arrived this super cheap plastic product that doesn't work. I sent the product back immediately with a shipping tracking and wrote CURLY to let them know I returned the product and then they stopped messaging. I've now been "in contact" with afterpay about it for 2 MONTHS! Even though they've seen proof my product has been returned to CURLY, they've continued to take each payment out and keep saying "we are still waiting to hear from the merchant".
When it comes to klarna and affirm, when they see you've returned a product, that company themselves refunds you immediately. Way more reputable and safe to borrow from.
Right now I have no product and am out $200 from AFTERPAY not taking responsibility from a horrible company.

Absolutely terrible

I have been in contact with their customer service team for 5 days now as I want to change my email address but unfortunately I hadn't been receiving the verification emails… they asked for my DOB about 5 times, asked for ID twice… I am unsure what else I am to provide? How hard is it to look up my accounts when I have provided all proof of account, and even proof of an order I placed? Highly don't recommend

New owners ruined this business!

I had a fraudulent website scam me they accepted afterpay so they seemed legit I mean doesn't Aftercheck out merchants before handing over peoples hard earned money! This scam site homerepellent has a fake Texas address wirh a UK number which has been reported as a spam scam number! Aterpay, not only are they impossible to talk to you wait days even weeks for responses which seem to be by a 2nd grader! They repeatedly ask the same questions, which I answer then they ask again, this tells me they are not even reading my email. I have been a customer since they started but recently found the original owners sold the business and now a bunch of incompetents are at the wheel! So sadly I will not use them ever again, I will add them to the bad business list along with crappy Paypal!

Big scam

I ordered a product using afterpay. NEVER AGAIN. This company is as big scam. I got some cheap product and attempted to return. The company SHEIN kept the product and my money and afterpay keep taking money from my account even after I proved that I returned the product

I purchased an item with after-pay from Old Navy - and returned it - trying to get ahold of customer service regarding this matter is impossible. You have to wait for them to they no longer have phones. It is all done via email.
When they finally get to you, it's a runaround on when you will get a refund (the order was already paid in full). Old Navy, because I returned it in-store, had to refund it to After-Pay I have that on my receipt refunded to After-pay, but After-pay states it was refunded directly to me. NO, IT WASN'T.

I purchased an item from Amazon and paid my initial down payment of $54 and right away I canceled it because I decided I wanted something else and afterpay only gives me $30 back out of that $54 down payment and when I contact them they tell me that's the merchants problem and I need to contact Amazon, Amazon has nothing to do with it when afterpay is the financing company who took my money and they're giving me this whole runaround about payment plans, when I have no payment plans because I canceled the order, the order was never even shipped, don't do it. Don't go through these guys. Guys they'll rip you off any way they can, I mean this order wasn't even shipped out to me. I canceled it within 5 minutes after placing it and I can't even get all of my money back

After years of faithfully using AFTERPAY I find myself unable to purchase from my favourite company. No others explanation other than "too bad". I've not only accrued thousands of dollars in credit but have diligently paid my instalments WELL BEFORE THE DUE DATE. Obviously Afterpay doesn't feel the need to offer due loyalty nor consideration to its customers.

This App is a Joke!

After paying on time, if not early on all of my payments thus far, I was 3 days late on "ONE" payment and instead of just charging me a late fee, they take my balance down to practically nothing and than going to tell me if I keep making my future payments on time, it can increase again! WTF am I supposed to buy for what you left me! And after paying HUNDREDS of dollars ON TIME AND EARLY! This is the way you treat your loyal customers, I can see why on pretty much every site y'all have such a horrible rating! I won't use y'all again and I have other people using y'all's app, I'll make sure they don't either, y'all are a joke!

Most ridiculous app ever. It's not just the app. It's Afterpay in general. I wish I could get people to quit using them. They gave me a spending limit. And that was fine. They had me spend an hour signing up. And that was fine…. But the fact that I was declined from everything I tried to purchase from each retailer? That's ridiculous. They kept sending me texts and emails. They would say come back and buy your items. Come back and use our app. I had to sit there and chat with an agent, which is not even live. And they said sorry that they had to make quick decisions on allowing my purchases…. One purchase was 88 dollars for 22 dollars a payment. I'd of paid it in two payments instead of 4…. But they still declined. My credit score is decent. Not horrible. I also have money in the bank. It's just hard times. Got bills to pay… and needed something for my kids… So yeah $#*! this crap and the horrible stuff I had to deal with. After you get declined it will tell you that you can still use Afterpay. Lol I signed up for Sezzle and got approved for 1000 dollar's almost instantly. I spent 200. That's it… Affirm will also help. Don't use this place
