ATT guy showed up saying if we get ADT our ATT bill will be lower. ATT does not work with ADT. This is total fraud. We called ATT they confirmed. We are requesting all our monies be returned and cancel this contract. ADT is frauding customers. Do not trust them.
Don't go with ADT. 4 month ago I was woke up with Firemen beating o my door, my alarm was going, I let them i and couldn't such the alarm off the code didn't work so the Firemen took it off and left it laying in the floor. After sever hours on the phone speaking to one then another I though I had the charge dismissed and i dont look at my C/c statement very close but today I did and the have been charging me right on and there system is piled up in tn the floor.
I bought a house with an ADT security system installed by the previous owner. I did not activate the system as we are a big family and someone is always here.
After a few years of living in the house the alarm began going off each time we open a door. When it goes off we have to push a button on the keypad (clear or off). Unfortunately we cannot get it to stop doing this so every single time we open a door it does this.
After contacting the company they have told me:
1. They cannot provide any code to me to turn it off permanantly
2. They cannot turn it off from their end.
3. They will not send a technician to turn it off because I don't have an account
4. If I had an account this would cost me $2OO to have it fixed
I feel that they should be responsible for the system in the home and that they should be required to fix this problem. Whether they disarm it or remove it, they should do something.
I am disgusted and have a headache!

I was in need of a security system and ADT was quick to install. I was content. I moved and they moved with me, still ok. I was moving again and I wanted to cancel the service, that's when I learned I was in a 5 year contract. They wanted me to stay, I honestly couldn't afford to leave so I went to Blue by ADT. Better, 3 year contract and cheaper. However... No one informed me the system only operates on a 2.4ghz WiFi. I have 5G that can pause the 5G but not stay as a separate bandwidth. 3 ADT hubs later, a senior technician tells me I need to purchase a separate router that supports their system. Not happening, so I learned the hard way and paid the early termination fee. Please be aware of the contract with ADT and find a system that you can use/afford.
No help, no customer service, no any service. They should be banned from the market. Very bad. Don't waste your money and time on this company. You will be disappointed. The positve feedback is probably from paid individuals and employees. They even faked my signature on the service receipt. My accound is locked out, no help to get it restored. What a scam and fraudulent company.
I'm a former Employee of ADT from the Redlands Branch. Part of my reason for quitting is due to the Service Manager -Joseph Bautista. He talked negatively behind my back to my coworkers. Also, I was told I could make big money thru the SCORE Lead Program, when in actuality I only made $45 dollars. ADT is a joke and I would never recommend working for this company or doing business with them.
I have been an ADT customer for upwards of 10 years, not anymore. A year ago the system that I bought upon moving to my newest home was "no longer supported". I was forced into a new contract and a new system to the tune of $1600 of equipment and extending service because they decided to update the tech. One would think that they would take care of their current clients but after months of issues with this new system I stopped wasting my time calling. Today I called to cancel my service due to moving and they have the audacity to now say I have to pay a $1600 cancellation fee because they forced this new system on me and since it doesn't work I'm not about to take it with nor set up a new one at the new home. After 5 phone reps in billing, cancellations, retention, account coordination and account management and none of them "have a supervisor" to talk to I told them I'm going to cancel the credit card they are billing and will contact a lawyer. They can come get the system they installed it's trash. I will never be a client of theirs again they literally did nothing for me other than costing money. The cheap WiFi connected cameras I have work better than the stuff that goes through their system as their motion sensors don't even register properly.

I had a dead battery and followed all the steps to replace but it wouldn't work. Called them for a service appointment but it took about 2weeks for anyone to be available to help. Called to close the account and they kept me on hold for extended periods of time, throwing me around from person to person. Eventually this lady tells me I'll be charged more than $1500 in cancelation fee! This is CRAZY. Why would they charge me for services in advance even when I'm canceling? They claim it's on the contract. This is robbery of some sort in the name of ADT "protection"!
Tired of paying ADT for a service, so went with a more reasonable solution.

Tried *******598, number provided by MyADT app, after 40 minutes kept on hold, dialed *******727, same story as the previous number, went on the chat function of MyADT, was advised to use the following number *******909, a direct line according to the service agent, Kamira P., guess I need to charge my phone more, because I am still waiting. I was scheduled for an install this Saturday. I was told my monthly bill would be 63.17 which would include my monitoring and equipment. Today I get a call to confirm my appointment on Saturday. The the representative tells me there'll be a 389 fee for equipment. I told her I was never told about this. She said I would have to pay over 300 a month for the next 3 months. I told her that was unacceptable as I was never told about the. She put me through to a customer service representative who told me, oh sorry they forgot to check a box, I fix it. Then proceeds to tell me I'll be paying almost 90 a month. I told him I wasn't paying more then I was originally told and he said he couldn't help me, so I cancelled my install.
I open my account 3 years ago and when it comes to customer service it suffers badly. My business close down because COVID and simply wanted to cancel our service, but in no way were they going to do that. In one call alone I was transferred 3 times. That last was an experience I never want have again. In the second call I was transferred immediately and waited eternally and after 3 years I realice the open 2 accounts for me in the same address! Crazy and no one can help me so they ask me for 1255. 00 to cancel my extra account like 2 electrical account in the same address and they never tell me nothing. Customer service is non existent. I've called 5 times today and by the grace of god I got 1 nice lady to actually help me cancel. The other 4 times I got transferred multiple time per each call. I've been on the phone for about 5 hours today between holding and telling people I wanted to cancel.! YOU ONLY HAVE 3 DAYS AFTER INSTALL TO CANCEL!
The technician who installed my equipment wasn't terrible but they canceled on me the day prior to my appointment then said they would send an experienced tech out. Super nice guy but could not answer a lot of my questions. Not a good experience. I was expecting a camera package but was not informed till mid installed my internet speeds could not handle the cameras. ( I have so internet Living in the middle of nowhere). Super regret listing to my wife haha
I used ADT for over 20 years. I recently had an issue where the sensors stopped working and they refused to send a technician out to repair my system. They left me unprotected for over two months. I was planning to go out of town for two weeks and I needed my home protected so I decided to change systems. The day I called to cancel their service, they told me that they would NOW send out a technician. It was too late. The next month AFTER i terminated their service, they send me ANOTHER bill for the next month. I called them and the representative was very rude and I asked for a manager to contact me. She told me they would within 72 hours. Needless to say, I have never heard from them again EXCEPT to continue to get a statement for a month that I DID NOT have them under contract.
Had the worst experience EVER trying to cancel our ADT service over the phone! The woman on the phone named Rosalin kept pushing and pushing and PUSHING for us to stay with them. We had to literally beg for her to cancel the service! Her behavior literally felt like harassment! I could not believe it! Stand firm when canceling. It's BS that a person has to beg and get angry to cancel a service that no longer suits them. Absolutely unbelievable and unprofessional service!
SIXTY MONTHS! Who the heck is going to live in the same place for sixty months?! Only those who are older and settled down or those settling down. And when you kove to somewher with free security you have to pay your remining contract which is still thousands of dollars JUST for a security panel. What a joke. Just buy your own camera system and get something else without a horrible contract.
3/8/2024 update:
The saga continues. The boilerplate response appeared after my review, offering me to email their "always there" address. I did. They suggested setting up a "virtual tech appointment," to which I agreed. The appointment was set for noon on Friday, but no one called (so much for 'always there'), which is very rude and careless in my books.
Then, around 2:20 PM, the tech finally called. I had to explain what I needed three times (I'm not exaggerating), and after being put on hold for multiple 20 to 30 minute intervals, I was told that NONE of my existing Google/Nest devices would work with ADT+, and to make it work, I would have to shell out $460 + tax. When I asked for any sort of deal, they basically inflated the prices only to then offer me a "discount."
Summary:
- The sales rep lied through his teeth.
- The service people lied about the appointment time.
- The "manager" who tried to give me a "discount" also lied about the prices. And, finally:
- None of the existing Google/Nest equipment works with ADT+; oh, and they don't support any smart locks.
Would you consider doing business with this company? Right, neither did I. What a shame. A total disgrace.
I'm writing this review after a one year benign ADT customer, ADT is worst security service that you ever get, never 👎🏻 ever go with ADT for any reason they charge you for everything and every minute, you are going to pay half of your salary to them for no reason, customer service is worst, technical support is bad, technicians are not on time, they charge you almost for everything even with bad service, on top of it they have a cancellation policy the worst cancellation policy ever, 75% of remaining payment that's really a nightmare,
I suggest no ADT at all, Pls save your time and money with other companies.
ADT does not want to take accountability for their equipment. They are over priced, in my opinion, and even though you have a service contract they still charge a trip charge of $58 plus tax. I had a system that was contracted out through Defender over six years ago, and it malfunctioned, and they could not repair the equipment, and they suggested that I upgrade, and I did. I upgraded my doorbell from RIng to Google Nest doorbell also. What a mistake! The doorbell stopped working after six months, and I was told I had to go through Google Nest, which I was told they could not connect me to them. I was told the doorbell could be replaced for over $300. I had to contact the Attorney General, and I received my installment fee back, but it's a struggle each day to get the doorbell to work. It's always, "Retry" or "Video is not available." WHAT A PAIN! I miss RIng, which is a fraction of the cost, and no contract. Thumbs down to ADT!
I signed up for ADT five months ago and then sold my house. Because of a five-year contract, which was never explained to me by the sales agent, the company is now stating I owe them $2,500 in order to close the service...in a house I no longer live in. They stated the equipment charge is $700, which I could understand paying for, but what is the remaining balance for? They charge you an absurd amount without anything to show for it. When speaking to customer service for over an hour, and learning they WILL NOT transfer you to a manager OR help out in any way, the only option I had was to change to a different service. It was never explained to me within that hour WHY I was being charged the $2,500. The agent only stated that it was for the 'monitoring' charge...but if there is no service, who is monitoring? Basically, the charge is a gigantic SCREW YOU to any customer foolish enough to sign up for ADT. Anyone, please, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ADT!
