After banking for several years with this discount bank I realized that they are really, really screwing me. If you pick up on their tricks, hold on they will change within the hour. They will close your account stating some mistake, or dream up something YOU did wrong. The tellers short you and do this on purpose. Ive tested this theory.
I've been banking with First Convenience for several years now and find it to be a very good bank with affordable fees, when necessary, compared to the larger "Big Banks." I suspect some of the negative reviews above are because those folks might not know how to balance a checkbook and fall into the "fees" category. I have a direct deposit checking account and have not had any problems at all getting funds when I need them. The only negative thing is "whoever" repairs their ATMs. They need more help keeping the bank's ATM working because they seem to frequently be "out of order!" That's NOT "convenience." I find the bank's tellers and other personnel GREAT!
I don't understand the bad reviews. This bank has saved me so many times by letting me have overdraft protection. I've only encountered one employee who was rude in the many years I've been a member. Love this bank!
My utility company took out my payment twice in March 2019. Which had resulted in a nsf fee of $34 with the bank and of course a $25 return check fee with the utility company. I went to the bank first because it was a Saturday and the utility company isn't open on weekends. The bank manager told me if I could get a statement from the utility company saying it was an error on their part that he can take the nsf fee off. It's been over a week now and I haven't seen that $34 credited back to my account yet. I've been with this bank for 10+ yrs. I'm now looking for a new bank!
Love this bank. As the name indicates it is convenient and the staff is so courteous and helpful. Have never seen anyone out of line. Very professional and they all have wonderful smiles. Have recommended this bank to numerous relatives and friends.
In five years never been charged a fee its seems like the negative reviews come from people who are NOT Financially responsible Never have I been charged a NSF fee no monthly fees My only complaint is when you do go into a branch to make a deposit the tellers too busy talking instead of working to move the line but most times I use the mobile app to make deposits and never had a problem period
In mist of the COVID19, the employees are not abiding by the 6ft distancing and not wearing gloves. They want the customers to keep their distance but not the employees.
Minus a star for over the phone customer service. That being said, Most of the reviews listed here are not truly indicative of how this bank actually operates. It sounds like a bunch of financially irresponsible people having a baby fit. And a lot of it isn't even true. For example, one lady says they charged her more than 100 overdraft fees. First convienience caps at 4. They are 34 dollars a piece which is a bit much compared to other banks. But, you can have 9 or 10 different overdraft purchases and they only charge you for FOUR! The rest are fee free. Another lady says that the cap on mobile deposit is 200 resulting in overdrafts. This is not true either. I deposit mine and my husbands checks for many times that amount weekly. They do put a hold on it if it's over like $1500 I believe to ensure that the check clears before it released. But, that isn't bad customer service, it's good business. If you are over drafting it's because you are spending money you don't have, not because the bank is irresponsible. They also have a loan called fresh start that will zero out your negative balance allowing you to get caught up. I could go on and on. But, I digress. This bank has never been anything but amazing to us, and everyone I know that has used or switched to them has never been anything less than satisfied. My ONLY complaint would be phone customer service. You are better off going into the branch and speaking to someone in person if you have a major issue. I seem to go round and round over the phone, but in person it's always handled immediately. The phone service is really only good for reporting lost/stolen, or ordering.
Holds your money hostage, they get it but sometimes don't put into your account immediately. Makes you jump thru hoops for everything and gives you nothing back in return. This bank is a joke and very out dated. Switching to new bank tomorrow because this bank is $#*!. Website is $#*! TOO!
Worse bank I ever dealt with. I just closed my account there today because of a frustrating experience. My son closed his as well. Too many bad experiences and poor customer service. If you have an account here, run don't walk to another bank.
I have been with this bank for 2 years, reluctantly, and have had nothing but issues. My account has been hacked 4 times, and I had to jump through endless hoops in order to get my money back. Over the phone, their customer service representatives are rude and condescending, and tragically difficult to understand. I'm leaving this bank in hopes that my next bank won't let people continuously steal from me, and if they do, approach the issue with a sense of urgency and respect.
I promise this is one of the worse banks to put your money in they do not care if your funds had been taken. Customer service is horrible their attitude when calling is bad! I was on hold for over an hour waiting for someone to pick up and when they finally picked up after the 5th time call my call was dropped, I'm so angry just about all the money I saved and worked hard for is GONE! I put my money in the bank to keep it safe I honestly did better just keeping it home. I don't understand why the bank doesn't have a fraud alert they should have automatically noticed fraudulent activity my card was used in 4 different states within minutes of apart! Lord, I'm so mad and disgusted my money is gone! Can anyone please tell me what I can do against this bank to get my money back bc as of now this bank is no help! Giving 1 star is far too many stars.
First Convenience Bank has to be the worst bank I've ever used. After having upwards of $2000 in fraud happen on my account I disputed the information as soon as possible. Well today, after the complete 90 allowable days under the federal law they sent me a message stating the dispute has been denied. I will be closing this account and taking my business elsewhere and taking further action. Consumer beware of such disgraceful organization
Their customer service is beyond terrible, not only that, I tend to have many problems with my bank account "missing" money, and me temporarily not being able to use my card due to It saying I have a negative number in my account when it's definitely not the case. It does this very often and no one seems to care, or find a solution to help with this ongoing problem and it's common in every first convenience bank I've been too.
First Convenience Bank will purposely make you over draft and charge you 34 dollars. They will hold your auto bills payments.to where you don't have the funds and that's when "they" decided to let the auto payment go through. App statements doesn't match with what the statement is shown on their end(which I can't see)customers service is the worst, every time i call I have to wait 20 minutes before to actually talk with someone. Last time I spoke with (Paul)who was just rude with an attitude. Although (Paul)did apologize I was disgusted with the service.
Absolutely the worst bank. Horrible customer service they will not lift a finger to help you if you have have issues with with tour account. Make sire you never forget your passwords cause if you do that's it no help what's so ever... Best thing to do switch banks. This one sucks
I have both checking and savings accounts and have maintained a couple thousand dollars between them. Never an overdraft or any kind of negative banking practice and recently I had an unauthorized charge and this stink-hole of a bank sides with the scammer and screws me! Accounts will be closed today! Stay away as they will give your money away!
I swear to God this is such a POS Bank. It was a huge mistake to ever have opened. An account here. I have been using them for five years now. Every paycheck for past 5 years has been deposited I applied for. An auto loan on a $27,000 vehicle. I was putting $14,000 down. And they did not want to lend me the money. But that is not why I think they are a crappy. Bank.
Just to sum up recent events. Someone got in my account and spent $350. This lovely bank that claims putting customers first is a load of crap. They're forcing me to pay a fee to open a new account even tho my previous was hacked into. As far as the charge back goes, they can't do anything. I filed a dispute with their customer service and that was in February. Here I am in April and no one has contacted me. I've called and called and either end up hanging up because I'm on hold forever or they just say we're still looking into it and we'll get back to you soon. The app is a basic. "Check what COULD be your balance" I was overdraft for $1 and the next day I had my last direct deposit (due to the storm, I lost my car and now my job)... well I was overdraft $68 even tho the app only showed $1. Apparently one of my auto payment was done the day before, and the app didn't show it until the next day when I GOT charged the $68. Called CC and all they said was. "The charge is right"... I'm closing my account. BOA Paid back fees in Houston and they are not even local. I'm so disappointed. Also if you like to use cash app. This bank holds the money and doesn't accept insta payments. No zelle available. Lots of problems with authorizing credentials. Long waits to talk to a representative and lots of fees.
