Question:

Can i pick and choose the meals. i would only want dinner. what is the difference in the the plans.

Answer:

You certainly can! The only difference in the plans is the quantity of meals (and pricing, of course). With the largest plan - 21 meals - it is delivered in 2 shipments each week. The other plans are delivered once per week - all of the meals at the same time. You select whatever combination of meals you'd like, so you can certainly do all entrees/dinners if preferred.

Question:

Answer:

Hi Ruth! You may be able to find some meals that fit your restrictions on our menu--we cook all veggies, and do not use corn (because it is higher on the glycemic index). However, we do use coconut oil frequently, and there are dishes with seeds, rice, and nuts. When looking at the menu there is a "filter" option which does have nuts on it, so that would remove any dishes that contain nuts from your available choices. From there, you would just have to click any dish you're interested in to view the Ingredients list for it. :)

Question:

I don't see use by date on packaging. can you freeze meals and if so how would you reheat?

Answer:

Hi Kate! That's odd--there should be a use-by date stamped/inked on the outer sleeve of each container. It's typically about 3-4 days out from your delivery day.:-) You can certainly freeze the meals if necessary, and then you'd just want to let them thaw in the refrigerator prior to reheating.

Question:

Do you have to buy a plan for each person in the house?

Answer:

Hi Christine! The meals are intended for one person each, so the number of plans would depend upon how many meals you needed in total.:-) If you wanted 6 meals for each person, then you would indeed need to order either multiple FLEX 6 plans, or FLEX 12 plans. It's really dependent upon the number of meals you need total, since with each plan you can choose whatever combination of meals you'd like.:-)

Question:

Can you heat the meals in another method than microwaving? you use the term natural but what does that mean? organic?, no hormones or antibiotics used? farmed or fresh caught fish? thank you...

Answer:

Hi Laurel! You can certainly reheat the meals in an oven or on the stovetop if preferred--we have many customers who choose to do so.:-) You'll just need to dirty some dishes, since our current meal containers are microwave-safe only. Currently our menu is not certified organic. We definitely take care to use quality, unprocessed ingredients free from hormones, added sugars, and without the use of chemical preservatives. The fish we use is wild.:-)

Question:

Are your meals good for someone who is trying to maintain weight after being on a diet for a long time, and are they portion controlled.

Answer:

Hi Margo! The meals can certainly be good for that situation. We are more concerned with where calories are coming from than closely counting calories (whole, unaltered, nutrient-dense ingredients), but our meals are indeed portioned differently than your typical larger-than-life American restaurant portions.:-) We use the following portion guidelines: -main protein source: roughly 5 ounces -veggies: roughly 3-4 ounces -potatoes/rice/etc: roughly 3-4 ounces

Question:

Answer:

Hello! I believe you asked this question via Facebook as well, but for anyone who may have the same question I'll reiterate it here.:-) Our service is subscription based so it's set up for recurring deliveries--however you're not obligated to get a delivery each week and can very easily skip weeks, pause indefinitely, or cancel outright, all with the click of a button on the website! For any week you do not have an order, you are not charged and there is no fee for skipping/pausing/canceling. We simply require that you take those actions by the weekly deadline, which we will send reminders of and is also outlined on the Meal Planner page for managing your subscription(s).:-)

Question:

Is it possible to order for a week at a time a d cancell if you are out of state for a week let say?

Answer:

You certainly can! Once you place an order you have a subscription--you can cancel your subscription any time (there is no cancellation fee) OR you can utilize the handy "skip a week" function, which allows you to skip multiple weeks, as needed. For any skipped week you are not charged anything.:-)

Question:

Hello, so the only option for heating is microwave?

Answer:

You can reheat in the oven if you prefer! Quite a few customers do so. You'll just need to dirty an oven-safe dish, because our meal containers are not oven-safe and would melt at such high heats.:-)

Question:

I am new to this concept. i live in a rural area of metro detroit. can you be more specific on the way this works? thanks!

Answer:

Sure thing! Our service is a subscription based service--so if you were to order, say, the FLEX 9 plan you would get 9 meals each week (automatically--you don't have to reorder each week), unless you chose to skip a week (or multiple weeks) or cancel the subscription. There is no fee for canceling or skipping weeks, it simply must be done with enough advance notice.:-) You can also update your individual meal choices each week, to change it up a bit. Currently we have our cooking facility in Phoenix, Arizona and we deliver to AZ, CA, OR, WA, ID, UT, NV, NM, and will be in TX starting in February. We definitely have plans to expand--first to the east coast this year, and eventually to be nationwide.:-) We'd be happy to add you to our expansion notification list if you'd like! Simply email info@freshly.com with your preferred email address. Then any time we expand you'll receive notice so you can see if we're in Michigan yet! :D
