Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from Alibaba staff and previous consumers.
If you've paid for a sample and are facing communication issues with the supplier, here are steps you can take: Document Everything: Gather all communication records, including emails, WeChat messages, and payment receipts. This documentation will be crucial in case you need to escalate the issue. Patience and Persistence: Continue trying to reach out to the supplier, giving them the benefit of the doubt for any unforeseen circumstances. Send polite and clear messages expressing your concern and desire to resolve the matter. Alternative Contact Methods: Try reaching out through different communication channels if possible, such as phone numbers or alternative email addresses. Dispute Resolution Platforms: If direct communication fails, consider using the dispute resolution mechanisms provided by the platform you used for the transaction. Many platforms, including Alibaba, have dispute resolution services to assist buyers in resolving issues with sellers. Review Platform Policies: Familiarize yourself with the policies of the platform through which you made the transaction. This can guide you on the steps to take and the support available to resolve disputes. Credit Card Chargeback: If you paid with a credit card, you may explore the option of initiating a chargeback. Contact your credit card company to inquire about their dispute resolution process. Legal Assistance: If all else fails, you might need to consider legal advice. Consult with a professional to explore the legal options available in your jurisdiction. Remember, patience and persistence are key initially. If the issue persists, utilizing the platform's dispute resolution services and exploring legal avenues may be necessary to seek a resolution.
It's a marketplace like eBay, so you need to do your own due diligence on the suppliers and select the most trustworthy. However, the platform does offer some insurance against delayed dispatch, poor quality goods, damage in transit etc. and charges about 2.5% for this.
You can not trust Alibaba to protect you if you have a problem. You need to conduct business as if you have no protection. It does not matter how good or how long the company has been in business if mistakes or problems happen you are on your own. Their are some things I would recommend to do for your protection 1) everything is EXW and you hire the logistic company with offices here in the USA (I can recommend one if you want) 2) Put deposit down as low as possible and try and get it put on a CC or paypal or "Confirmed stand by letter of credit in your name" all will probably cost the same around 2% 3) Terms are final payment after inspection and pickup. This gives you the best protection possible for the least amount of additional money spent.
