Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from Airbnb staff and previous consumers.
This is an interesting question because I think you have to pay when you book. But the money is usually transfer to the host two days after you check in next year (that's what happens in the U.S.A. So, AirBnB would keep the money for a year. Check the cancellation fees the host has on her website. You can cancel by those requirements. It is impossible to find a telephone number for AirBnB on their website. I googled it and have been using this number: 1-415-800-5959 in the U.S.A. Hope this helps. Renee Jones
There is a reason that this company has so many negative reviews! Listen to your intuition and follow it instead of strangers who are not invested in your property. There are plenty of ways through social networking to find good renters. Good luck to you <3
This happens - I would say contact fair shake they can help to get a resolution - also call the customer service line directly and let them know you would like to attain a supervisor because agents are hanging up the phone …
Yes host gets paid if guest doesn't try to call Airbnb to complain about their stay.
Kathleen: I had problems with the representatives when I finally found a telno for them. They weren't rude. The first rep said he would resolve the link problem and send out an e-mail to my customers saying that it was an AirBnB problem. Neither action happened. Next time, I asked for a supervisor and he walked me through step by step every single piece of information on AirBnB and PayPal. We found the problem - e-mails didn't match so payments were kicked back. When things run smoothly, everything is good. When they don't it is difficult to get them resolved. Renee Jones
I received a refund credit back to my credit card however, it did not come from airbnb. It was done directly through the host. AIRBNB forces you to go directly through host for almost everything. They will listen to your complaint and let them go in one ear and out the other then encourage you to go directly to the host is is the problem. No checks & balance system in the policy.
Airbnb will ALSO hold your security deposit for another 48 hrs. After you check out to allow the host to file a claim against it. Many guests don't realize that many hosts advertise their rentals direct or through other rental agencies that may have different payment policies. I rented my properties out myself long before I became a (NOW FORMER) host w/ airbnb. See my review and horror story on airbnb! -Cheri Woods facebook.com/Cheri Woods Rentals
