I recently stayed at an airbandb, my first experience. The accommodations were dirty. Is my cleaning fee refundable?

I received a refund credit back to my credit card however, it did not come from airbnb. It was done directly through the host. AIRBNB forces you to go directly through host for almost everything. They will listen to your complaint and let them go in one ear and out the other then encourage you to go directly to the host is is the problem. No checks & balance system in the policy.

That's a great question. The owner is responsible to check you in a clean home. I have also been to a Airbnb home in argentina and told them to clean again while I was there. This was the same day. Iv also had renters tell me my maids did not do a good job. I quickly resent my maids to clean my home and I live in Los Angeles. My home is in Argentina. You should of sent an email right way to the renter always. This way Airbnb has the conversation on file. Airbnb reads all your email conversations. Always! If you have already checked out. I would contact the renter. Tell them before you can give a positive review they must give a discount to the cleaning fees. (You have 14 days from check out to leave a review.)We as renters can do this. Reviews are everything to us renters. It's our money review. If they are bad. We won't get bookings. If they do not. Contact Airbnb. They may or may not help you. If you have photos it's better. If not, then they usually go with the renter. Hope that helps you. Don't be frustrated. Always speak out when renting someone's home. Lots of people's thought of clean is another's dirty.
