Once I officially cancelled they continued to take the money off my bank account. I wrote numerous emails and all i got was bot messages back saying "You didn't confirm your request for cancellation" although I did, and once I sent them my PREVIOUS emails, they ignored the actual issue and only then approved my request for cancellation. I never got my money back. Incredibly bad, rude and not helpful service

Verified purchase

I got an in person zumba instructor certificate during the pandemic. I recently signed up for their $1 training, which states after a month they will start charging you for Zin. More than a week before my payment date they charged my card $43.94. Then tell you you can only cancel by phone. I spent over an hour on the phone, mostly on hold, 1st they told me I could wait on hold for hours or wait 2-3 business days for a call back. WTF! I told her to put me on the list for a call back but also on hold, after an hour and speaking with Vicky, then Ina, then another Vicky(which is hard to believe) I think the 1st two people were the same person, just changing their name. They told me they can refund me the $1, but not the $43, even though it was charged that day, and a month is not up from my payment date. They told me to email this(the email they sent to me) back to them for proof at *******@Zumba.com

They are just scamming money out of people, she told me if I complete the training I will be signed back up for Zin membership. What a scam! They put you on hold forever, say they can't help you, there is no way to cancel on their site.

People should start making Beto accountable!

Avoid this company altogether. Professionalism is ZERO. I purchased for the online course and although there is a 30 day money back guarantee on their web page, they did not refund my money. They offered different excuses every time when I called. A completely money hunting company. DEFINITELY STAY AWAY

I dont recomend it, especially the ZIN membership they make you sign up for (at least try to) in addition to the Zumba Intructor certification and training. Unless you're a beginner and you need extra resources/assistence then sure, go for the ZIN but it was a waste in my opinion because not only did I not use it but they were unwilling to refund me for months (I wish I had known better to file a credit card dispute). If I'm not mistaken (because I'm writing this years later), ZIN is mandatory to teach Zumba otherwise you have to renew training annually - I forget the details but as someone who wanted to teach 1-2 times a week it was not worth the continued investment. Also I used to be a performer so this was a total waste of my energy & time - I wish I had looked into this more prior: the legalities, fees, membership options, etc. Always do your research, count the cost & look around beforehand. Zumba has a great culture with great vibes & style but as an instructor, the company is inflexible - it felt like they just wanted my $$$ based on customer service experience.
My last words? Be bold, resourceful and creative. You dont need to rely and pay a reputable company for the title - what I did cause I thought I had to to get somewhere. If you believe you can move and teach, you can! Its ongoing passionate PRACTICE & feedback/guidance that will get you there.

They're selling some same products from 2 categories 'summer sale'&'women' on their website and I made a purchase from 'women' category (attatched the 2 photos the same item on both categories). I never knew that it was a final sale for the summer sale products until I got a confirm email since I never seen any notice about final sale while shopping. They didn't accept cancelling order and never called & emailed me back even though I tried to contact them hundred times. Of course couldn't get the return shipping label either. This is definately a scam. I have a proof to capture all the screenshots for every processing they're selling same products on 2 categories and never mentioned it was final sale, and just refused the package and reported here to credit card company & reportfraud.ftc.gov as a fraud. I'm a Zumba instructor and this kind of experience for Zumba.com is not the 1st time actually. The customer service has always been not knowledgeable & helpful. I know the Zumba is one of the biggest fitness industry, but their business is like a scamming.

Tip for consumers:
Their email address & phone nember are actually not working. They don't give any answer ever. And used the credit card for the payment just in case. I also disputed to credit card payment and refused the delivered package.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Zumba. Not only they do not offer the option to cancel membership online, but when I tried to call and cancel, I was put on hold for hours. It felt like they were purposely making it difficult for me to cancel and trying to scam me out of my money. They added an additional month beyond the 6 months I agreed. The person I called pretended he left to speak to someone but heard him breathe the entire time, I would not recommend this company to anyone. They can revoke the certificate but they cannot take away the skill. One star is too much.

Tip for consumers:
File with the court to bring awareness.

This company is an absolute joke. Refuse to let me speak to a manager. Make me pay in full for a course then do not give me access to a course! Try to scam me for extra subscription that isn't needed. Take random amounts out of your bank on different days! Won't resolve anything just tries to scam into more money!

Tip for consumers:
Don't!

The only option is to call them which I find very dodgy. I arranged a time and date for a call back explaining to them I'm in the military on a deployment operation and I can't keep paying out for this while out of area.
They claimed they've tried calling me multiple times, only to find out they called using the wrong number. And never got a call back after correcting them.

I enrolled in a B1 training class offered by Zumba.com, and what ensued was a frustrating and disappointing ordeal that left me feeling deceived and cheated.

Initially, I was hesitant about joining their program, but during the class, the instructor pressured me into signing up for a ZIN membership, assuring me that I could cancel anytime after the class with only a one-time charge of $43.95. Reluctantly, I agreed, trusting the instructor's words.

However, the nightmare began when I attempted to cancel my membership as promised. For days, I tirelessly tried to reach their customer service department, only to be met with endless wait times and unhelpful representatives. When I finally managed to get through, I was promptly hung up on – a clear indication of their disregard for customer concerns.

Frustrated and at my wit's end, I resorted to emailing them, hoping for a resolution. To my dismay, I received a generic response stating that I needed to call in to cancel. This back-and-forth only added insult to injury, leaving me feeling like I was being deliberately misled and manipulated by the company.
It's evident that Zumba.com is playing games with its customers, making it incredibly difficult for them to cancel their memberships and stop the recurring charges. This blatant disregard for transparency and customer satisfaction is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their integrity as a business.

To anyone considering engaging with Zumba.com, I urge you to proceed with caution. Don't be fooled by their promises of easy cancellation – it's nothing more than a ploy to trap unsuspecting customers into paying for a service they no longer want or need. Stay away from Zumba.com unless you're prepared to deal with their deceptive practices and abysmal customer service.

I love Zumba. Have been taking classes for over 7 years. I decided to do their course to see if I could become an instructor. I paid the 400$, travelled to Montreal to spend the day in training. Then I learnt that if I didn't subscribe to their ZIN which is 50$ a month then I would lose my certification which I paid for. Basically if you don't continue to pay the 50$ you lose the course certification you paid for and did. It's comparable to going to university getting a degree but then having to pay a subscription fee forever or lose your degree.

As I said previously I used to attend dancing on ice star Dan whistons zumba classes in blackpool till his behaviour towards changed for the worse. Since then he instructed his solicitors to contact me over my reviews and blog post about how I was treated. Dan whiston has now backed down as he knows I am telling the truth and can't prove otherwise. I did offer to sort this out like adults which was rejected. I have had a nightmare and will not be bullied into removing anything I have posted, I have a right to tell people how I was treated and can now have a sigh of relief now I am being left alone. I will never trust a z lister again. Just a shame I had to learn the hard way. I would not like anyone to go through what I've been through and would never recommend his classes.

Zumba instructor unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour

Until recently I had been attending dan whistons Zumba class in Blackpool lancs uk. I had really enjoyed his classes till this year when his behaviour towards me started being unprofessional and inappropriate. I wrote him a letter telling him I wasn't happy and he humiliated me on social media I was devastated. I had travelled 200 miles to attend his classes. As a licensed Zumba instructor his behaviour is very unprofessional and inappropriate, he should have more respect for his students. I would not recommend anyone to attend his class.

I have tried to cancel my membership several times! I even took my card off the website and they STILL charged my card! To cancel, I have to call in and wait on hold. I have tried calling several times and don't have time to wait on hold for hours! There is a real person that directs me to "membership department" I asked them please send me to someone directly because I always have to wait such a long time on hold. They said the wait is so long "because there are so many other people trying to cancel their membership" Hmm so you have LOTS of people canceling Everytime I call? Seems like you are either lying and this is a scam or your program is horrible and "so many people are canceling" So I'm currently holding. We will see how long it takes them to answer... Very upset.

Zumba.com never stopped charging in excess of $47/mo anf even more for their membership to keep being able to teach using the Zumba name/logo. We instructors lost all of our classes in 1 day! They never gave us a discount, and had an assistancen program that required all of the gyms you worked at to provide proof of employment, when we all know the Pandemic was at its worst last year. I couldnt afford to keep paying, and I didn't think it was right for them to ask of that when:
1. This was not an individualized situation, but global.
2. They kept sending out ads for us to buy merchandise even though they knew we werent teaching, because gyms were close internationally.
3. I tried to cancel with them in October 2020 and they charged me for Nov 2020! I let it go until they charged me for Dec 2020 and put my account in the negative. They would give me a refund so my bank went aftrr them, and refunded my money. I LOVE TEACHING ZUMBA, and Beto Perez was my hero (so I thought). He kept getting richer while we were dying of a deadly virus! They never offered us a suspension option, and told me if I canceled I had to pay $175 to rejoin, after I have spent thousands making them millions! Never offered any stress free considerations even though the country was on lockdown, and I taught for free til Oct 2020-paying for zoom membership to do so. Thank God for a few donations that helped a little. When they finally had a platform for us it was so complicated tonuse for ME and my students, that I lost a lot of them due to poor streaming quality. They never reimbursed me for the 2 mknths and are making me have to oay $175 to return as ZIN! They are not about helping. They are about profit, and don't care about their members or subscribers!

They try to convince you to take the "zin" which is another word for ripoff you have to pay 40 something dollars every month to keep your cert. Active otherwise it expired in 6 months. This is ridiculous no wonder beto is a millionaire.

I find it unacceptable that they don't have an online option to cancel, mainly due to when you call the number that is given specifically for cancellation, they leave the cancellation option for last (dial 9) & HAVE YOU ON HOLD FOREVER. How many people are actually cancelling that im on hold for this long? Absolutely ridiculous. I've been calling for days all have me waiting for over 45 minutes and never once getting a person. Plus consistently saying you can leave a VM when they will def not call you back. Its a scam because they purposely make it extremely difficult & discouraging to cancel but then you keep getting hit with the bill. The only way to maintain the license is by paying monthly which is is not a good business model for the consumer (deff for business though) they know most people wont stick with it. If you need help starting to lose weight and still want to dance i would suggest just finding zumba videos on youtube and creating your own playlist. Just try a few of those before giving money to become an instructor. I've never experienced such a difficult time cancelling a subscription.

So I became an instructor for Zumba and signed up for Zin and all that. During COVID I ask to suspend my account my Zin due to medical reasons. I was told if I cancel my Zin I would have access to absolutely nothing and they meant it. Even though I paid over $500.00 taking different Zumba Instructor licensing I can't even access my account on ZIN to view my basic Zumba class or anything. This is ridiculous so after making them richer they are crippling me because I can't keep paying the mere $39.95 per month. They offer you to 10.00 per month but you still can't access anything so what is the point. I do love Zumba but this has turned me off because I feel the company is totally greedy and is taking their instructors for granted as if money just drops from the trees. Please research before signing up for Zumba. Youtube is cheaper, to be honest. This is my experience and opinion.

No one has gotten back too me about placing my account on hold. Now I might be charged because nobody reached out to my emails or got back to my phone calls about placing it on hold. Just so unprofessional and out of order. I love Zumba but wish it didn't feel so scammy sometimes.
