I was terrible sick with flu and had the worst experience with ZocDoc. I rarely get sick and did not have a PCP though have a good PPO health insurance. Call the doctor and found out they accept my insurance, got there and they told... we do not accept your insurance, call my insurance company and was informed they should have accepted it... My advice: If you are sick, don't go ZocDoc. Even better, have a PCP who knows you and helps you when sick.
I signed up for Zocdoc yesterday, searched for the specialty I needed, and selected one of the doctors listed. I made an appointment through Zocdoc and explicitly selected that the purpose of the visit was for a pap smear and gynecological check-up. Zocdoc confirmed the appointment with me several times and then, when I showed up to the doctor's office today, I discover she's not a gynecologist and doesn't deal with these matters at all. These idiots wasted my whole afternoon and I will never use them again, and recommend that you don't waste your time with them either.
Hi Raymond,
This should definitely have not been your experience using ZocDoc. Our doctors guarantee the information they list on our site is accurate, and we want to get to the bottom of this right away. Could you give us a call at (855) 962-3621? We would love to take a look at what happened here.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Used this and kept getting listings for doctors who don't take my insurance. Then I got one who did. Front Desk verified over the phone they do take my insurance and then when I got there, they don't actually take it. There was also a guy leaving because he had been waiting two hours to see the doctor and was requesting a refund on his copay. The ratings seem scewed.
Hi Danielle,
We are so sorry you were having such trouble finding a doctor who accepts your insurance. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 and we would be happy to look into this for you. We want to make sure you get the healthcare you need.

I really like ZocDoc it has helped me with my search on doctors, wish they would have a option to look for Endodontists because ive tried searching for one by myself and thats one type of specialist alot of dental places dont have. Overall Zoc Doc is good, i will keep using it for future appointments
I found the best psychiatrist on zoc doc to help me with my GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) he was like a counselor as well a psychiatrist and explained everything about the medications to me using a dry erase board. Really great Doctor, his name is Harrison Levine.
I visited Atlantic Gastroenterology Center in Brooklyn and was seen by Nurse Practitioner
Inna Zeltser. She was very pleasant. Took an extensive history and physical and diagnosed and gave me a treatment plan for my illness. She was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. I'm very satisfied with my experience.
I needed an ENT on a Friday, and was full of anxiety as the weekend was coming and I had an earache. I found a wonderful doctor near my home, and made the appt. Online. He was excellent, and I plan to use him again for my ENT needs.
If we could do it all over again, we would NOT have signed up with ZOCDOC. This was the worst decision financially we could have made. Dental marketing is difficult and so a alot of time we try things to help build patient base but this is by far a bad decision. Now we are locked in for 1 year and out of $3000.
Cons:
*Collect $3000 up front
*Locked into contract
*Patients cancel/fall through (flaky). Although we only had 2
*No follow-up done by ZOC DOC
******Please don't do it... stick to SEO and internet marketing
I scheduled an appointment with a dr via Zocdoc. The appointment was set up. A couple days later I got an email telling me how to set up the virtual visit and how to log into the patient portal. Exactly 1 minute after the email was posted I received a voicemail (because I didn't hear the phone) telling me that the dr did not accept new patients and I would have to schedule with someone else. No where did it indicate that the doctor was not seeing new patients. While looking I found several doctors that stated they weren't accepting new patients, but it was not indicated by this doctor. I had made plans for the virtual visit. Not happy.
Needed appointment with an ENT. Went on line and made appointment. Gave all my personal info and health history and photo of health card only to be told CANCELLED! Cancelled before hours of Dr office opening so I couldn't even call to verify. Very disappointed! Told friends and MY WORK I made an appointment and guess now I'll tell them don't bother ever using Zocdoc. Total waste of time!
Hi there, Barbara,
This certainly isn't typical and not what we'd expect to happen. We'd like to apologize for the poor experience with this day-of cancellation by the office. Doctors guarantee that their appointment times are available, so we'd love to ensure this doesn't happen again for any other patients. Please contact us at (855) 962-3621 so we can gather some information about which provider was involved. We're also happy to find a more reliable provider for you. We're here for you, and we want to ensure you receive the healthcare you need!

I was very surprised at the reveiws posted here. I used Zocdoc to find a GYN Dr. near by. They made the appointment, confirmed it by email and called to remind me. Turned out the Dr's office was in walking distance and the Dr. deals with my Ins. And Hospital. The visit was GREAT. The Site let's you pick the Dr; I did my Homework on the Dr before I choosed. Maybe you should have too.
Four times I have made appointments through ZocDoc and two out of the four times I did not see the provider I was scheduled to see. I left a comment on a Dr I see and ZocDoc did not publish my review. I am guess because the doctor offices pay ZocDoc so much money so they wont publish bad reviews. The reviews for the Doctors are false and cherry picked so don't fall from them like i did. Stay away from ZocDoc and its false advertising.
Hi Dawn,
We are so sorry to hear about your poor experience with those offices. We post all reviews, positive and negative, that adhere to our review policy. If you have a moment, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 and we'd be happy to help.

I love zoc doc! I have severe anxiety and have a hard time speaking on a telephone so if it wasn't for zoc doc I would probably never make an appointment with a doctor. I had one problem with a doctor not confirming an appointment I had made but I reported it to the zoc doc customer service department and they made things right immediately. I was very impressed. The only way they could improve the site would be to let the doctors register follow up appointments on there so if you needed to reschedule a follow up appointment you could do it online without having to call the office.
I Just called to speak with a representative from zocdoc and no one knew what I was ttalking about. I called because Mary M a Zocdoc Rep responded and wanted to know more about my situation. I called spoke with a young man which it should be in your records and he told me Mary M name does not exists. However, when I read the email to him he said let me check again! Very unprofessional

Zocdoc's rule for reviews are skewed. They willfully leave out reviews which leads to a positive bias in their system.
If you miss a doctor's appointment, you're ineligible to leave a review. But here's the kicker: even if you miss it due to the DOCTOR's poor time/booking management, then you STILL cannot leave a message.
Dr. GK Ravichandran (Houston, TX off of 59 south) didn't fulfill his appointment that I made via zocdoc. Called him four time to find his office after arriving at a dingy, hollowed out building and never was picked up. I even called with zocdoc and nothing. I left a voicemail expressing my displeasure calmly albeit curtly to which I finally receive a call saying that this was my fault and that I have no grounds for attitude. Vindictive customer support such as this is only for the unprofessional and uncouth. Truly a staff that thinks solely of themselves and not about the patient.
Hi Dennis,
We are so sorry for the trouble with this appointment. If you have any questions or concerns about our review policy, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621. We always want to make sure you get the healthcare you deserve.

With your Dr reviews, now I know what mistakes I made and hopefully found a better Dr. If only I'd researched 2 Drs more and using your website, I wouldn't be suffering now. Hoping 3rd chance is the charm
I made an appt with a ortho dr. When I arrived I was seen by a PA. She did an ultrasound guided cortisone injection for my shoulder. She was nice enough BUT my insurance did not cover the procedure being done by a PA. Before I discovered this, ZocDoc called me and asked about why they had cancelled my initial appt and then informed me I was guaranteed to be seen by the physician I made the appt with. Now that I know I am out $1000 I will not see that dr's office again. But ZocDoc was great.
The site overall is pretty good. My only issue is that it is hard to search for appts by time. For example, I would like to search for a dentist appt at 9:00 am and get a list of available days. Rather than clicking through the days to find a time that fits.
I loved that you can see the doctor's schedule and his appointment availability which enabled me to book a same day appointment. Joliet Podiatrist, Dr. Tiernan, is hands down the most compassionate physician around! He treats his patients with professionalism and individualized care and is a stand out in the industry. I highly recommend him for your foot care needs. ~Karen of Shorewood
I made a appointment to see a dermatologist at Derm One and I received a quicker appointment than I thought I would. The doctor was changed when I got there but the visit time was for about 10 min. I would use this website more often because I wouldn't be on hold on the phone anymore.
Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
