ALERT!

Update on previous review entries. I have finally received a partial refund after two and a half months of sending multiple emails weekly, with very little communication from Zappaka. I have still not been refunded for all the dresses, they must just hope you get tired of trying to reach them, which trust me you will if you order a dress from here. Save yourself and shop local because these dresses ship from China, and take several weeks to arrive. This is by far the worst online shopping experience I have ever had.

I lost 168 EUR
August 28, 2022

09.08 zapaka received my return. 18.08 after few e-mails they confirmed money transfer but today (29.08) i am still waiting. I lost 168 EUR and cost of returning to China.
Their customer service is a bot. Please, don't buy anything.

This website is absolutely a waste of time and money! 14 day policy to return…FAKE! First take pictures of the dresses (that don't fit right) then go to UPS to find out it costs 200 dollars to return (almost more than the two dresses) She said I'll offer you 15 percent off than it was 20 percent off! This is how they rip you off and make their money! Don't buy!

Better Than Expected

I was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and I love vintage, mainly 50s. This site has so many options and for a decent price. I ordered 3 dresses and 2 tutu petticoats. I am actually in love with these dresses and planning on ordering some of the other dresses I really wanted to buy originally. The dresses are well made in my opinion and really soft. I am always concerned when ordering online, the main reason I took the plunge was seeing customer photos of the black and white striped dress and saw how well it looked. None seem cheaply made. I have seen some reviews complaining about wait time, even from coming from China I ordered on Aug 5 and received them Aug 17... maybe Canada has a lesser issue arriving?

I have noticed that most of the negative reviews on this site (sitejabber) are not verified customers. So I'm not sure if those people are actually fake. I mean out of 75 1star reviews only 15 are verified? Seems odd.

Either way, I love these dresses and gonna order more in the near future.

KEEP LOOKING

DON'T BUY FROM HERE!
I would give it a -3 negative rating, if possible. The products were of extremely poor quality. I ordered the size I always wear, and one dress was too small and two were a foot to long (at the least.)
I had to leave town for a family emergency and contacted them the day I returned to return the dresses, they said it was past 7 days (4 days over) so it was not possible.
Now I'm stuck with three cheap quality dresses and still need to find a dress that's suitable for a wedding. DON'T BUY FROM HERE!

Ik heb de jurk besteld met versnelde expedition 3 tot 7 werkdagen. Hij kwam wel veel later pas helaas, maar voor mij toch nog optijd. De jurk zelf was echt prachtig. De tweede rok eroverheen is net even een andere stof dan lijkt op de foto en voelde me net assepoester met die rok eroverheen. Dus ik heb besloten de rok er niet overheen te doen maar dan moest de jurk een beetje aangepast worden. De naaister zij dat ze nog nooit een online jurk heeft aangepast van zo een goede kwaliteit. Van de overrok laat ik een sjaal maken. De verzend tijd is wat minder maar de jurk zelf is echt spectaculair.

HORRIBLE COMPANY

Order number: ZAPAKAAU*******

I bought a dress from Zapaka for an upcoming uni ball and while it arrived in time the dress was about 3 sizes too small.

I ordered a size 8 (all my other clothes are 6-8) and I couldn't even start to zip it up.

I took it to a seamstress to let out - it's not worth the hassle to return. The seamstress stated she could not let it out more than two sizes and this dress was certainly more than two sizes too small.

I enquired about an exchange - I didn't even want a refund to be told they couldn't do anything as it's custom.

Nowhere when I ordered did it tell me I was ordering custom. I ordered a standard size and colour from the options listed. This is misleading to the consumer and should be more clearly advertised.

I obviously should have read these reviews before purchasing but hopefully the dispute I've lodged through PayPal will go through and I would encourage anyone going through something similar to do the same.

I ordered 2 dresses from Zapaka that didn't fit and when I asked to return them, they informed me that I would need to send them back to a China address and pay for shipping out of my own pocket. (almost the price of the dress) Their website is misleading with a UK address. No return label was provided, they asked me to provide them the following information: (shouldn't they have all this info?)
- Quantity of each item
- Photo of the products you sent back
- Photo of the shipping label on the package (we) ZAPAKA sent to you
- Photo of the shipping label on the package you sent to (us) ZAPAKA
On the BBB website, there were 44 bad reviews of this company, people never receiving refunds or the items they ordered. I wish I had read them before I ordered the dresses. Don't use this company. It's a scam.

Difficult to return
July 13, 2022

I bought an item directly from the zapaka.com site. The site implies that returns are easy. That is not true. There are no directions for returning items and it took about two weeks of exchanging emails with the company to get the directions. All returns must be pre-approved before being accepted. You must also have a picture of the original shipping package sent to you, along with the label used to return the product and pictures of the product. The return, regardless of where is comes from must be returned to China. Any return subtracts the S&H. These are crazy requirements and returning is far from easy.

What a Scam
July 11, 2022

In preparation for my sisters 50th birthday I placed 2 separate orders for a total of 4 dresses, 2 pairs of shoes and 4 petticoats 7 weeks before they were going to be needed. I meticulously measured, to ensure I ordered the correct sizing and ensure the dresses would fit when they arrived. Upon ordering, I as promptly charged but only received confirmation, by email and text, for one of the orders. Luckily I had written down the information prior to exiting the site for the other order. I waited a day and when no additional confirmations came, I called. I also tried the chat feature but that was a clear joke because I didn't have a confirmation number. It took well over an hour and a half to get someone and then for them to locate my order and "assure" me everything was fine. Roughly 2 weeks prior to the party I had not received any notification that my order was being worked on or on its way or anything. Knowing it was coming from China that seemed concerning and I called again. After an hour or so on hold, I was only told that the dresses are made to order and their was a slight delay but to rest assured they would be on their way soon. The very next day I received confirmation that my orders were on the way and would be delivered 4 days after the party. I reached out again, and was told I couldn't cancel now because they had already shipped and I would have to wait to complete a return once I received them. I had to order other dresses and shoes and petticoats from someone else and was angry when these orders appeared in my mail a few days before. We tried in all of the dresses and found that only 1 actually fit. I read their return policy and was again enraged. I was essentially guaranteed to never get a refund. I did everything that was asked and still can't find a mail service that can ship to the return address that was provided. What a scam! The only response I have received since my last message to them that I can't send these things back (which you have to do to get a full refund) was that they could process a partial refund of 20%. Just don't do it. Find any other company with similar dresses that I am certain will be better quality and may actually fit.

I ordered two dresses from here and they were not as expected, which is a risk we take when ordering online. However, their return process is a nightmare, so if you are 100% sure you will like the dress buy it but if not, do not expect to get your reimbursement without any ordeal. They request tens of pictures of the dress, pictures of the original packaging, and you have to go through various departments for "Approval" of your return. Then pay an exorbitant amount to ship back to China. Will NOT be buying from them again!

I ordered a dress for my daughter's senior prom. Paid extra for it to get here early. Found out a week prior that it hadn't even shipped yet. Cancelled my order prior to them shipping it just to have them send it anyways. Then tell me if I wanted to return it I would have to pay to ship it back to China. I went back and forth with their so called customer service agent just to end up getting screwed! I will never shop here again! If there was a no star review that is what I would have gave them.

My daughter ordered several dresses a month in advance of her prom. The site noted that the dresses were in stock and ready to ship. She paid for expedited shipping to make sure they'd come in time. The dresses arrived 6 weeks late (after her prom). We tried to cancel the order, and were unable to do so. When we tried to return the dresses, we were given an address in China - at a cost of $67! Added to the cost of expedited shipping and returns, we would have paid over $100! The site boasts "easy returns" but it is a HUGE LIE! DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Despite their own company telling me the dress I ordered wasn't in stock and offering a refund, I am now five weeks later still seeking one.

Dealing with the 'Polly Song' email is excruciating and they have taken my money and never sent the product, and despite saying this, are still trying to pretend the dress is to be/ has just been sent. This is despite me cancelling my order five weeks ago.

The accessories I ordered arrived, however other than a head piece I paid for, I received two pairs of gloves.

This has been a horrendous experience and if you have another option to buy from then I'd definitely do that. Do not use if you could have any issues with your order.
