I have wanted to play the guitar for a long time. Despite having taken lessons when I was young I never felt that I could truly learn to play. Recently I decided to try one more time but chose to be a lot more careful with choosing the right guitar. I have small hands and short fingers. Playing chords was a challenge. I looked for a guitar that would help to address this and found Zager guitars. The thinner neck and lower string heights make a real difference! I have a long way to go but I am now making progress. The quality of the Zager guitar and the extraordinary customer service have given me a lot of positive reinforcement and I feel at long last I am finally getting somewhere.

I received my Guitar (50CE).
I opened the case - I felt like a kid with at Christmas.
As soon as I touched the neck I knew I had arrived.

I have never touched anything that projected such pride, workmanship and quality. My first encounter was almost spiritual. I was apprehensive to even strum it I felt unworthy of such a magnificent piece.

The sound and tone is indescribable. NO rattles, no buzz, nothing but pure music.
I am digging in and I'm home. I feel like I made it to exactly where I need to be.
From this day forward it isn't a guitar it's a ZAGER!

Just received my new Zager Guitar and it's everything they say it is. I am by no means what I would call an accomplished guitarist. I got my first guitar over forty years ago, wanting to have an instrument to accompany myself when singing. I wish that I had stumbled across Zager Guitars years ago. I saw an as online and was intrigued with what I read. The reviews piqued my interest and I looked into purchasing one for myself. The guitar arrived this afternoon and I spent hours getting acquainted with it. What a beautiful instrument. The craftsmanship is superb. The sound is magnificent. I look forward to spending a lot of time with this guitar. Playing it is a dream, it really makes playing easier. The tone is sweet, and the guitar looks fantastic. If you're in the market for a guitar, consider a Zager, you won't regret it.

I have such great things to say about the experience with Zager Guitars. I bought my first one in 2012 after playing for 50 years. I played and owned a lot of great guitars including my old standby Martin HD35 which I sold because I was having trouble with my hands and trouble playing. Someone gave me a tip about these "easier to play" guitars and I was skeptical to say the least. But the guarantee of no charge return and their promises lured me in. I bought a ZAD80 OMEC with western cedar top hoping for a smaller instrument and a mellower tone than my booming Martin. I got it. I love it and play daily and have for the last 8 years. The instrument sounds better the more it is played and I can play it with much more ease than my other guitars.
I loved it so much that I bought the mahogany parlor guitar to use when we travel. I've never had a regret with that one either.
It may seem odd to wait 8 years to write a review about something, but to all those pickers out there looking for a great instrument, at a great price, I just thought I owed to you to let you know from a long term users perspective how wonderful these guitars are.
Order one and play it yourself and see if you don't want to write a positive review also.

I have been playing guitar since 1962 and have played a fair amount of different guitars over the years. The Zager guitar (ZAD900CE) stands out as an excellent instrument built with care and precision. I have owned this for over one month now and every day when I play it is just "opens up" a bit more and the sound improves. This is a fantastic guitar. No I am not a professional musician just someone who enjoys many styles of music. At one time I was a music instrument dealer and this stands above all of famous brands.
The customer service is amazing and they are always there to help with email, videos and I am sure if needed, an occasional phone call.
This is indeed a hidden gem. Anyone looking for either another guitar or starting out should consider a Zager guitar!

Zager Guitars does it again! I now own two of these exquisite guitars, the ZAD 50 and the ZAD 900 - 12 string. This review is for the ZAD 900 - 12 string, a recent purchase.

People say their 12-string guitar is hard to stay in tune. That is not an issue for the ZAD 900; it is by far and away the best 12-string I've ever seen or played. It stays in tune with any adjustment that needs to be made, only slight. The tobacco finish is exquisite. And of course there's always the superb Zager customer service a plus when buying a guitar online. I think I'm looking now to a third guitar from Zager because these things play like a dream. I encourage others to look for Zager if you're in the market for a new guitar at a great price. Nothing to lose!

I'm 54, I've owned several different moderately priced average guitars over the years. Been playing since I am 9. The other guitars have been okay, but in the back of my mind has been -- I could really take my playing to another level with a better guitar. So I really wanted to buy a premium instrument. But my budget is not so premium! Between the financing and the excellent price, and guarantee, I took the plunge. I am so happy with this guitar, it plays beautifully, both in terms of tone and ease of play. It looks amazing - I got the Black Johnny Cash model. Thanks so much!

I am 77 years old and have played, mostly just for my own pleasure since I was 15. Age, arthritis and fingers seemingly fatter have made playing much less rewarding recently, not helped by 'economically' priced instruments!
I stumbled across Danny Zager's website and after initial scepticism, realised that maybe here was the solution. I read some of the reviews many of which mention playing with arthritic difficulties, read about his design philosophy and realised I had to give it a try, my wife agreed, eventually! Nine days later FedEx delivered to my home in the UK a splendid, beautifully made, Zager Parlor E. That was three days ago, I've played for an hour every evening since, it is very different to anything I have owned before, I'm an engineer and the instrument feels very 'stiff' I guess this is gives it the tone and volume. I love it, easy to play and no more buzzes playing B7th!
With the returns deal Zager offer they are well worth considering, my Parlor E certainly does what it says on the box.

I received my ZAD900CE today and I can say without a doubt it is the finest guitar I have ever put my hands on. Yes, I've owned Fenders, Martins, Guild and other high end guitars but this just put the two high end guitars I currently own to shame. My wife listened from the next room and said the Zager (even though she couldn't see which one I was playing) sounded fuller, had more resonance and just sounded better than the other two high end guitars I own. She plays violin and is a fantastic violin player by the way. She has a very nice violin and plays professionally. So, she has a great ear for sound. One thing that caught me off guard was the note sustain didn't fall off, it kept the tone and note perfectly as it resonated away. That was a first for any guitar I've owned. I would have paid twice the amount for this guitar frankly, I won't be buying another, this guitar is fantastic.

Three years ago at 51 years of age, I finally decided to do what I should have done 30 years earlier, and that is to learn how to play the guitar. I purchased a popular name brand entry level guitar and worked very hard daily for about a year or more to learn how to play and decided to purchase my dream guitar from Zager to reward myself for learning how to play. I bought the Zager Zad50/CE and have not looked back. I Love my guitar and play almost daily, sometimes for hours without any soreness to my fingertips due to the easy play action. My next guitar, a few years down the road will be another Zager, but this time it will be the ultimate ZAD900 series. I'm really looking forward to that day. Lastly, the customer service must be mentioned here because it is second to none. The AWESOME Folks at Zager have done everything that they said they would plus more. I definitely recommend Zager guitars. From a very satisfied older customer.

I am thrilled with the ZAD80CE I just received. Even though the woods are still "green" the guitar produces a wonderfully big sound. Its playability is impressive. My wife and I sat for an hour at our kitchen table while I played and we sang some favorite songs. I have a Takemine 12-string that has been her favorite of my 11 guitars of which to listen. As we wound down our "kitchen table session" she commented, "I love the sound of your Takemine but now I like the sound of the Zager better."

I am retired from marketing for 40 years starting with graphic design, copywriting, tradeshow management, and the like. Attention-to-detail is a big deal with me because so much of my work over the years demanded the same. How the guitar came packaged? What measures where taken to ensure as best as possible the case and guitar were protected"? First impression of the guitar case? What is the "presentation" when one opens the case and sees the product for the first time? Does the intonation meet its promise? What is the level of craftsmanship? Inside the guitar does the builder's label align well with structural components or has the label been slapped on with no regard for aesthetics? And, so on.

This Zager, in my opinion, checks all these boxes and more with an "A" or "A+".

My 900 OM CE Cutaway arrived safe and sound. I must share with you it exceeded even my highest expectations. I have not put it down for three days now. It looks beautiful, sounds superb and plays flawlessly.

I play primarily through the Bose L-1 "pole" system. Let me tell you, it sounds like heaven. Zager include a sound hole damper for playing through the system. Of course, unplugged sounds just as perfect. It's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and is a joy to play. The best way to explain it is that your fingers seem to glide through the song.

I have 21 other guitars... about half are high-end Taylors, plus Martin and Gibson. Trust me, if I decide on a 23rd, it will be another Zager. My guess is no one ever takes Zager up on their return guarantee...

Received my new Zager on 5/17/20 2 days riot to initial projected delivery date. The guitar came in a beautiful light weight molded high end case with a built- in humidity monitor. The guitar fit beautifully and perfectly. The guitar itself was absolutely gorgeous, great workmanship and quality woods. The sound and volume really fills the room. The deep bass, mid range very robust and powerful. Intonations are perfect on all strings. The setup is very low and really makes playability easy on the fingers, and For me that was key because I have a diabetic neuropathy that affects my fingers. I love playing this guitar and have trouble putting it down. All high end tuners and electronics make this guitar a great buy for the money. The best of all is customer service. These people make you feel like family, they listen and seem to bend over backwards to accommodate the customer. Great value and great service. How can you go wrong?

I own a 2006 Zager ZAD80CE. I am the second owner at least as I purchased it on the secondary market. I am an amateur player, cowboy chords and easy classic rock and folk tunes. Once I had it locally adjusted to my preferences (as I bought it used it came without a bridge!) I could not possibly enjoy it any more.

It is incredibly EASY to PLAY! Before I owned it I thought that was all marketing claptrap. But now, having owned it I'm a believer. I also own a 1998 Seagull S6+ Spruce and a 1966 Martin D-18. Both of those guitars are worthy in their own right for their own merits but the Zager ends up in my hands far more often. It let's me play better than I am. It HELPS me express music while the other two I must OVERCOME to express music.
Twice I've contacted Zager for help and strings and they treat me as if I purchased it brand new yesterday. Superb support, better guitar, amazing playability.

My name is James Wann. A few years ago I discovered Zager guitars online. The sales pitch that caught my attention was the fact that Dennis's guitars are arthritic friendly. I just turned 59 earlier this year and because I invested in one of the Zager guitars I am still able to play. These guitars are everything they claim to be and more. I love the guitar so much I am going to order a 12 string later this summer. I was allowed to pay for my guitar in payments in a lay-a-way fashion. I would never have been able to pay for a guitar of this quality on a fixed income. These guitars are not just for those of us with health issues. There are several professionals who own and play Zager guitars. My guitar has been a blessing and a prayer answered. I can hardly wait to start talking to Dennis about my 12 string.
