I purchased 3 metal pencils. They have a screw on nib and the screw part for one pencil came off and got lodged inside the holder. Emails to Yanko Design came up blank, no acknowledgement no nothing. Why anyone wants to spend money there is beyond me. Avoid at all costs!
I'm seeing positive reviews about the content but not about the buying experience. Don't be deceived because the content looks a certain way because it is not supported by the companies conduct towards customers. I would caution anyone wanting to buy from this company and I'm speaking from personal experience as the other negative review also points out from personal buying experience. I placed an order over 3 months ago, Nov 2023 its now March 2024. I have contacted them several times, no response and no merchandise. I'm disputing it thru my credit card and carefully documenting everything I have even filed an FTC fraud report and intend to also file a BBB complaint.
Cancelled my order, no refund issued, no response to emails.
I placed an order on January 20th and my card was charged at the time of purchase (as expected).
I had to cancel the order later that day and the cancellation was confirmed by Yanko on January 24th.
I followed up on January 28th because I only received the confirmation email and did not receive a refund.
I followed up again February 3rd with no response.
I have had no communication from Yanko other than the automated ecommerce emails.
UPDATE 2024-04-16: I had to contact my credit card company to have the charge reversed. Still haven't heard anything from Yanko.
Such a cool site. I could just look at this stuff all day. I am not sure where they dig this stuff up but it hands down beats what I see in my modern furniture type of catalogs. Great find Chris. Now, if i could only afford this stuff then I would be truly happy. Until then I can look at this site and dream.
Industrial design means robust in my experience and most of there stuff looks pretty good. Costly not surprising, aesthetically pleasing easy to navigate, maybe maybe slightly could be more consistent in the "jacket design and layout" but otherwise great site, i miss sites or even books like these need to reconnect with that side of me "art school grad"
Amazing blog content which shows some of the cleanest modern designs I have ever seen. Makes me want to redecorate my home though I cannot begin to afford most of the featured items. Much better than some of the modern furniture magazines I subscribe to and well written.
