“Good Experience So Far”

Brian L.
7/1/22

Configuration set up is very easy to use and understand. Mine is a preorder of a laptop that is still on a boat in the Pacific so I do not have it in hand but the ability to configure all the drive ports was very helpful, especially when I will be promoting some SSD to the new machine. Good choices on thermal compound/heatsinks, too.

“Stole money”

They sent me factory faulty laptop. Then I've sent it back and they refunded. In refund they included stocking fee. So they stole from me 700$ for faulty laptop + transportation payments. Disappointing.

Disastrous; faulty unit had a complete blowout in less a year.

Had a need for a new computer; never went with XOTICPC before, but heard good things, so I figured I'd give them a try; MSI laptop ran fine for about a year, then had a blowout; at first, I thought it just needed a new power supply; XOTICPC arranged shipping to MSI; MSI inspected the unit, determined the entire laptop had a blowout, needed full replacement, and provided a quote which was roughly the cost of the entire unit; I refused this course of action, and instead requested the unit be shipped back to myself so I could get a hard drive restore/transfer performed once I had a new laptop.

At the time of initial purchase, I figured I had gotten a decent deal on a model that was going out of circulation. In retrospect, now, I get the feeling I only ended up dropping ~$1.5k on failed hardware MSI was offloading.

They also have the audacity to send you a link to review their product - which goes to a dead page, so you can't review their garbage.

I checked with customer service to see if my specific model was in stock right before ordering. I was assured that it was. 3 weeks later I ask again since nothing has changed on my account since ordering. Suddenly I'm told that I'd have to wait until late June for the laptop they had in stock to arrive. Not to me but, to them so that they could them customize it. Didn't even offer a solution or ask if maybe we could look into a different model.

Tip for consumers:
Find another who won't lie about products being in stock.

Had the Laptop less than two years and motherboard fried. Buy from other site avoid pcxotic.com
It was also a very loud laptop. At first I thought it was normal since it was an expensive beast but then realized it was a piece of junk. Very disappointed.

Overall I was happy with my laptop, but when there was an accident and the casing needed repair I sent it in. That was more than four months ago, and I still don't have it back. There seems to be no communication between the various departments, everything takes forever, and when I attempt to confront a member of management I get nothing but excuses and no accountability.

I bought a mid-tier gaming laptop from them about 7 months ago. Their pre-sales support was good, and I'm generally happy with the PC and buying experience but I have two problems that knock off stars on the rating.

First, I had them install an upgraded SSD because they had a good offer on it. In installing it, they left tool marks on the case. This isn't something you want to see when you spend $1,600 on a laptop. Under different circumstances I probably would have sent it back, but one, I don't think they had another of the same model to replace it with and the model was hard to find in the first place, and two, I live outside the US and was back visiting family at the time so time was a factor. Shipping internationally wasn't an option because of customs duties and such.

Second, the buttons on the track pad aren't very responsive. Frequently I'll get the tactile "click" without the corresponding button press. I didn't notice this for a while because I almost always use a mouse, but I've started using the track pad more and it's pretty bad. This may or may not be their fault, and I'm probably just as likely to blame ASUS, but if you left pry marks on my case, it makes me go? What else did you eff up?

The value for money was good, and I'm not mad enough for a one-star review, but the kid that swapped out the SSD should be smacked around a little.

I have bought to Sager laptops from Xoticpc. The first one had the display hinge separate which led to the display failing, when it was less that three years old. It cost me something like 700 dollars to get it repaired.

The second laptop had the motherboard burn up before it was four years old!

Total JUNK!

Ordered a laptop from them and they sent a worse model than I paid for. I reported this and they refused a refund. I bought from them through Amazon who actually sided with them and kept my money. Well looking more into this company, they've posted tons of fake reviews on themselves on sites like Trustpilot to hide their shady practices. They even report to have trustpilot take down reviews, which they did mine. I then went nuclear, provided video proof to Amazon of their scam, and Amazon refunded me. I sent all of this to tustpilot to verify my 1 star review against them. Absolutely terrible business, avoid at all costs.

Tip for consumers:
Don't order from it. You will likely not get what you pay for.

I ordered one computer for my son for college, ended up getting charged for two computers. After speaking with Jeff and then Alex from exotic PCs they assured me they would take care of it and asked me to drop my dispute, bad move on my part. I had no idea they were going to not advocate for me, their customer, at all and keep my $2,145.35 for themselves. This is not a reputable company and business. I have spoken to them and emailed them on approximately 25 separate occasions. They assured me they had spoken with my credit card, Chase, and that everything was going to be worked out. That began in June and I'm still fighting with this company. I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy, and judging from the reviews on this site, I'm not the only one that feels this way. Stay away from this company as they are deceitful, dishonest and complete liars. I would give zero stars if that were an option. STAY AWAY FROM XOTIC PC!

Ordered a computer in August with a September arrival prediction. Now it's mid October and I just learned they're still trying to fulfill orders placed in May. My estimated arrival just changes every 2 weeks, other companies are fulfilling orders for the same model in a week. Go to newegg or asus directly. Hopefully this company with finally die out for the good of us all. Avoid xotixpc like your life depends on it

God forbid you pre-order from this website. If they give you an eta add about 3+ months and then plan on canceling the order because they keep on pushing the date back. When you ask why they blame the carriers, and not themselves for ordering only 1 product at a time. This was confirmed by me setting auto notify dog stock on other websites which constantly got stock when this website never did. DO NOT BUY THROUGH THEM! Save your time and give your money to a site that needs it, that's what I did and wound up getting the product I wanted in 3 days.

"They sold me a pc they didn't have! I waited 12 days for them to tell me (When I complained) that they didnt have it in stock! It was coming from the manufacturer. Not the way to do bussiness or keep steady customer base. They might want to adjust their business practices or go out of. I CANCELED!" IN STOCK SHOULD MEAN IN STOCK! Not Drop shipper! Go ANYWHERE ELSE! UPDATE: If you finance your PC you lose the deposit. Xotic claims to the PC is "IN STOCK" with a MONTH out wait!

I bought a $2500 PC from this company and had to RMA it after only having it for a month. After I got it back everything was fine for about 5 months and then the PC started randomly shutting down and XoticPC wanted 90 dollars just to send it back to them to have them fix it and another 60 to have them ship it back to me. So, 150 dollars later I receive my PC back from them only to find out they didn't fix the problem. I'm sure they'll want another 150 just to not fix it again. They only issue refunds to machines bought in the last 30 days. Steer clear of this company.

Tip for consumers:
Go to Origin or somewhere else for a prebuilt. I regret not building my own and now I'm stuck with a lemon

• Updated review

I have updated my review to three stars to reflect that the company has fixed the problem and apologized for the issues caused. They refunded the rush fee and the computer is in fact coming on Wednesday. The fact that it took four days and me checking in to make sure everything was happening according to promises, and then "the system" saying they were out of stock, and me being told I would not be getting a computer is not a good customer service model.

On October 15, I spoke to the live chat the entire time i was customizing the machine. I spoke to "Andrea", "James", and one other person. Andrea checked to see if the laptop i was building was in stock and since it was not, recommended a similar MSI which had four in stock. On Monday 10/18 i contacted them again and spoke to James who said the laptop was slated to be sent out later in the week because i paid for the rush build. I check again today 10/21 and james says that the laptop is out of stock. I was never notified. The last day it was promised to be shipped is the day i have to follow up only to find out that they don't even have it in stock because they don't allocate a machine until they're ready to build it and by the time they got to mine there were no more. This is the WORST inventory system imaginable. When James finally got back to me letting me know that he will refund me, there was no apology, no taking of responsibililty, no attempt to fix it. NOTHING. After i mentioned it, James responded "I'm very sorry that we didn't have enough inventory to get you a laptop out right away. Is there anything else we can help with today?" They don't even understand the problem.

You DO NOT matter to this company. Don't give them your business.

This was a multiple bid process for a company. After speaking with their staff directly, and multiple times, an order was placed on December 13th. They did advise it would take upwards of 20 days, but that all the parts were available.

Instead of waiting till the shipping date before charging our credit card, they charged it immediately. You would think if they charged us for it, that all of the parts would be set aside in a bin to wait in line so they could build it.

No.

The CPU wasn't actually in stock and they knew this, or they were exceptionally incompetent with an inadequate inventory tracking system.

They never told us that our parts weren't available, and wouldn't be till the end of January 2022. Today is Feb 10th, 2022, and they're still not available.

COVID and international shipping delays are not XoticPC's fault, but it is their fault for lying about part availability for a month. We weren't told about the availability problem till the end of December. Just empty promises that we would need to be patient for the normal build process that could take 20 days.

NEVER buy anything from this company. They charge you up front regardless of whether or not they actually have to the stock to fulfill the order.

They're customer service is abhorrent. A bunch of empty platitudes, and they couldn't even answer questions about the laser etching of our company logo on the side after two months.

A horrible deceptive company that only cares to take your money, but not deal with you honestly.

Tip for consumers:
Don't believe a damned thing Xotic PC tells you. They just lie and delay.

I am the owner of a boutique architecture firm in Colorado and we recently decided to begin the exciting shift to MSI workstation laptops. After working with Xotic staff to set up/build our first $5400 machine, it was recommended that we add on extra services to ensure a prompt delivery and the highest quality control, which we agreed to. We received shipment weeks later to find that the laptop had been incorrectly built with a series of partitions (that we did not request) placed on the incorrectly located hard drives.

Xotic accepted fault but offered no support. Initially Xotic requested that our company open up the computer ourselves and begin by switching hard drives around and reinstalling the OS. I was not willing to have our staff do this due to warranty issues and the inappropriateness of this request after such an expensive purchase. After a series of painful emails and calls my company made the decision to send back the laptop due to the lack of faith in Xotic's customer service and professionalism.

When our company requested a return label for the PC, Xotic refused to provide it saying that we needed to pay for return shipping in addition to a series of other charges that totaled nearly $400. All this, just to return a problem product we never ordered, at no fault of our own. I will not name any individuals, but the support staff I personally worked with offered no professionalism and management refused to speak with us.

My company has amazing clients and staff to take care of. Computers are one of our greatest tools, but this process has taken so much time and effort. I will never work with Xotic again. If you are looking for a professional/business solution I recommend looking elsewhere. This company is absolutely horrible.

Avoid this company!

Xotic PC has to have the worst customer service in the United States. I recommend no one purchase from them. They refuse to answer any call one they have identified your phone number. Years back when I was about to buy an Asus I was very excited to find one on Xoticpc. That died out really fast when I placed an order they gave me an email saying would you like a 750Gb instead of an 1Tb. I cancelled the order, because apparently they didn't have what I was looking for instock despite the product being on their sales page. It wasn't out of stock as it said on there. They charged me a restock fee anyways even though I didn't have the product shipped to us at all. Do not trust this company or buy MSI or Asus products.
