Sent me a broken PC, spent months with customer service with no luck. Sent it back for RMA and was guaranteed it was fixed, it was anything but fixed. Had me buy another power supply and RAM sticks and guaranteed me it would fix the problem, it did not. Made me pay for shipping back to them for a refund, only for them to tell me the GPU was damaged in shipping. They're trying to weasel there way out of a return. Requested to talk to management with no luck. Now they're saying I might have to cover the damaged GPU. Here's some food for thought you idiots at XOTIC pc, maybe build me a working PC and i won't have to send it back to you morons. Well I hired an attorney and plan on throwing the book at them. Until I get my money back I will make sure they loose business. Don't EVER buy from this company, stay far away.
The worst computer shopping experience.
The computer did not work when it arrived. When I asked for a refund, they issued an incorrect return and refused to correct it. The issue ended up being that they did not assemble the computer correctly in the first place. Support was able to fix it after over a month. Suspiciously, two weeks after the warranty expired several of the keys on the keyboard stopped working most of the time, including the power button.
I wish I had seen all of the other google reviews before I shopped here.
This company is absolutely scamming everyone you don't get your money's worth and horrible customer service!
Within 6 months my XOTIX PC start up was slower and slower had to hire my own PC tech company who called XOTIC while he was in my house and they discussed issues - Conclusion either bad mother board or re-set windows. We reset windows - problem remains sent PC back told it was fixed got it back it is not fixed screen locks up again. Called XOTIC I want a new PC Spent over $4K on this thing I use it 10-12 hours a week average. I'm retired I've used laptops for years with my career. Never had this kind of issues with HP business class or toshibas. So final words from XOTIC is I need to re-set windows every time my computer starts locking up What a load of crap Do not buy one of these they just get their computers from ASUS customize it to your preference and ship it off. Anything goes wrong you are screwed
Disastrous; faulty unit had a complete blowout in less a year.
Had a need for a new computer; never went with XOTICPC before, but heard good things, so I figured I'd give them a try; MSI laptop ran fine for about a year, then had a blowout; at first, I thought it just needed a new power supply; XOTICPC arranged shipping to MSI; MSI inspected the unit, determined the entire laptop had a blowout, needed full replacement, and provided a quote which was roughly the cost of the entire unit; I refused this course of action, and instead requested the unit be shipped back to myself so I could get a hard drive restore/transfer performed once I had a new laptop.
At the time of initial purchase, I figured I had gotten a decent deal on a model that was going out of circulation. In retrospect, now, I get the feeling I only ended up dropping ~$1.5k on failed hardware MSI was offloading.
They also have the audacity to send you a link to review their product - which goes to a dead page, so you can't review their garbage.
They sent me factory faulty laptop. Then I've sent it back and they refunded. In refund they included stocking fee. So they stole from me 700$ for faulty laptop + transportation payments. Disappointing.
Had the Laptop less than two years and motherboard fried. Buy from other site avoid pcxotic.com
It was also a very loud laptop. At first I thought it was normal since it was an expensive beast but then realized it was a piece of junk. Very disappointed.
I bought a mid-tier gaming laptop from them about 7 months ago. Their pre-sales support was good, and I'm generally happy with the PC and buying experience but I have two problems that knock off stars on the rating.
First, I had them install an upgraded SSD because they had a good offer on it. In installing it, they left tool marks on the case. This isn't something you want to see when you spend $1,600 on a laptop. Under different circumstances I probably would have sent it back, but one, I don't think they had another of the same model to replace it with and the model was hard to find in the first place, and two, I live outside the US and was back visiting family at the time so time was a factor. Shipping internationally wasn't an option because of customs duties and such.
Second, the buttons on the track pad aren't very responsive. Frequently I'll get the tactile "click" without the corresponding button press. I didn't notice this for a while because I almost always use a mouse, but I've started using the track pad more and it's pretty bad. This may or may not be their fault, and I'm probably just as likely to blame ASUS, but if you left pry marks on my case, it makes me go? What else did you eff up?
The value for money was good, and I'm not mad enough for a one-star review, but the kid that swapped out the SSD should be smacked around a little.
I bought from them Exotic PC model GP17 which is a rebranded Eluktronics MAX-17 which in turn is a Chinese made Tongfang GM7NG0P. It features AMD Ryzen 4800H CPU and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU. Here is the summary of the issues I experienced.
1.The Laptop was delivered with a 6 weeks delay despite being reassured before placing the order that all components were in stock. The laptop was shipped to Asia and the limitation imposed by the shipper on the length of the characters in the address resulted in going to the wrong address which caused an extra of about 200 USD custom duties.
2.The laptop was delivered with the Exotic PC Control Center software. It was full of bugs with the LED and CPU power mode switching on their own.
3.The Bios are cheap and extremely basic and unlike other similar devices also offer no CPU voltage and clock control.
4.From day one the laptop AMD CPU was cycling at idle from min frequency to boost constantly. The fan was speeding up and down trying to keep up with the 4300 MHz induced heat (stock frequency is only 2900 MHz). Without touching the laptop (with just Windows Apps running) the temperature was constantly cycling about 10 C and averaging 60 C and the fan noticeably buzzing up and down. Believe it or not Exotic PC had no solutions and said that the cycling is normal.
5.The QHD screen failed twice in about a year of light office use, the first time under warranty which was not honored (the shipping cost to the US was more expensive than changing the screen locally). The first time, only the screen was changed, the second time also the cable.
6.The power switch needed to be pressed twice or once for a few secs to power up the laptop. A very annoying way to start up which halves the switch life expectancy. Exotic PC had no clue how to change the setting.
Eventually I fixed all the issues with no help from Exotic PC or Eluktronics (still unclear if the screen will fail again). CPU thermal cycling was fixed with Registry Editor to change boost behavior. The Control Center software was changed and so was the power button behavior.
Lessons learned
1.Never buy anything from Exotic PC. They are just middle men that add no value to the purchase, just another layer of bureaucracy and headaches. Buy directly from the first re-brander (Eluktronics in this case) or better from the manufacturer.
2.Once the sale is done they offer no effective support, just words, excuses and no cost effective solutions. As my case prove the technical support expertise is way too low for these high-end custom devices.
3.Do not buy Tongfang computers unless you are Chinese (I had to involve a Chinese friend to help me) and ideally you should reside or go to China now and then. Although they are well priced great machines nobody can really fix them unless it is some basic and evident part swap (I still don't know why my screen failed twice). The various companies that re-brand them worldwide can't really fix them and even more so generic laptops shops. The OEM does not offer appropriate technical documentation, schematics, part lists or the support required for in depth troubleshooting.
If you can, buy from Tongfang Hong Kong or Uniwill in Taiwan or Mechrevo in mainland China. They are the closest to the factory and speak the language of the OEM.
I have bought to Sager laptops from Xoticpc. The first one had the display hinge separate which led to the display failing, when it was less that three years old. It cost me something like 700 dollars to get it repaired.
The second laptop had the motherboard burn up before it was four years old!
Total JUNK!
Had a Custome built laptop done in 2021 this review is after alot of rigorous tests, and gaming all across the country. I am hard on my laptop and it has held up to the test of time. It is now 2023 and it keeps up with the best of them. Could not be happer'
Within 24 hours of initially receiving my computer (in November of 2018) & taking it out of the box I experienced an unrecoverable BSOD loop that required RMA. This was reported to them within 1 day of the initial receipt & within 2 days of their shipping the unit to me.
Over the next 2 years XoticPC "serviced" the unit for RMA 2 times due to their supports intentional stalling, in one instance even holding the computer for months at a time when they did have it, & band-aid fixes involving the CPU that never fully resolved the issues the unit had Since Day 1.
After their two attempts at the CPU, I began to notice the GPU overheating & intermittently failing, also causing the computer to crash; These failures became more & more frequent over time, with the initial BSOD issue also remaining as a recurring, if slightly less frequent, problem.
Over the 4 years+ since my initial purchase the unit never functioned correctly without regular BSOD & Graphics Card Crashing.
Sager has serviced the unit 2 times within the last 12 months, also failing to remedy the issues present. Their approach was to replace the GPU. This approach also had minimal impact in resolving the issues present, with the unit still experiencing both the BSOD & Graphics Card Crashes even with both the GPU & CPU now having been replaced.
On 01/10/2023 I contacted XoticPC to initiate a refund as I no longer had faith in either their or Sagers ability to provide a suitably repaired or replacement product.
As a disabled adult my (former) Representative Payee (mother) completed the initial purchase on my behalf in exchange for my money.
I informed XoticPC of the situation at hand & began going back & forth with their "support agent" (I use this term as lightly today as I ever have in my life) via email.
During this "back & forth" (which was still ongoing as of the morning of 1/12/2023) I was repeatedly lied to, asked questions I had already provided answers for, & my claims summarily belittled, dismissed & ignored.
Their "support agent" refused to acknowledge my issues the majority of the day until I provided a detailed, complex breakdown of each and every detail of each crash I could along with screenshots.
My every message was met with replies from their agent containing lies, misinformation & more dismissal of my claims. At every turn their agent chose to belittle my claims & insist upon allowing them to continue wasting my time & treating me with disrespect by stalling, refusing my refund & insisting I let them repair it again.
During the course of this, XoticPC chose to respond to my BBB complaint with inaccurate information that was provided to them by Sager. When confronted with their responses inaccuracies & proof of such, the agent blamed me for their mistake instead of taking responsibility for their own failure.
After proving my case thoroughly & beyond impeachment over email; When the "support agent" ran out of excuses, stall tactics & reasons to deny my request; The agent then resorted to ableism, informing me they had contacted my former payee & stating "We just spoke to your mother" (former payee) in an attempt to bypass me entirely & obtain a resolution to their satisfaction without my consent.
They also stated the following "I would be willing to see if can assist with Sager to move your hard drives and ram to a new similar-performance machine instead of using the funds to replace the GPU? Is that an option?"
Still trying everything they could to avoid giving me the refund I am due.
Additionally, after doing so they insisted we continue the discussion over the phone & refused to continue by email; This is a denial of handicap accessible service as I require email to respond in an accurate manner. As such the agent has violated the Americans With Disabilities Act, Title III & has been reported to the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division for doing so.
At this time (01/12/2023) I have received the following after sending the full thread to their management email listed here.
"We have followed our warranty agreement and have exceeded our obligations under this warranty. You have received our offers to assist you, it is up to you to accept these offers. Your parts warranty has expired in 2021. Your laptop is 4+ years since purchase and over 1 Year ourside of that warranty term.
If you have nothing more to add there is nothing more to discus on this.

Please let us know if you would like to proceed on the offers on or before end of day January 13th 2023 through this email address."
To which I replied:
"You provided a faulty product and failed to meet your obligations under warranty...
If you refuse my refund we can proceed to court, regardless of any unreasonable & legally unenforceable "deadline" you claim to impose."
"Agent" needs a new job & XoticPC needs a Class Action.
Never received my order *******, lost 2500$. My package was delivered to different state! Support does not helping to resolve the problem
I ordered one computer for my son for college, ended up getting charged for two computers. After speaking with Jeff and then Alex from exotic PCs they assured me they would take care of it and asked me to drop my dispute, bad move on my part. I had no idea they were going to not advocate for me, their customer, at all and keep my $2,145.35 for themselves. This is not a reputable company and business. I have spoken to them and emailed them on approximately 25 separate occasions. They assured me they had spoken with my credit card, Chase, and that everything was going to be worked out. That began in June and I'm still fighting with this company. I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy, and judging from the reviews on this site, I'm not the only one that feels this way. Stay away from this company as they are deceitful, dishonest and complete liars. I would give zero stars if that were an option. STAY AWAY FROM XOTIC PC!
I custom ordered a $3900 AMD desktop from Xotic PC. I specified a normal fan cooler but they sent a liquid cooler. The CPU runs at 70C idle and 90C with any app includuing just surfing the net! If I multitask on three screens it shutsdown for overheat protection. I complained and they gave me things to try. I am now past the 30 day return window and although they are offering to fix it, under my 3 yr warranty, shipping is on the customer! Even for warranty work on a part I didn't want! A new cooler would be cheaper than one way shipping. So void the remainder of the 3 yr warranty and fix it myself? Yes!
If you don't have the ability to fix a broken PC, don't purchase from Xotic PC!
Xotic-PC is the kind of company that once they put their name on a product, they keep their customers' happiness and satisfaction bundled with an unmatchable customer care experience. About two years ago, I accidentally found their advertisement on Instagram and decided that I no longer had the urge to build my own PCs. Buying parts from Newegg just seemed like too much of a hassle, so I went with Xotic. My new Avanger arrived beautifully packaged and fully functional, equipped with blinding LED lights and a fresh copy of Windows. I was impressed, to say the least. But about twenty months later, the motherboard crashed and the drive followed. Given that the PC was under constant pressure from running 24/7, I could not blame Xcotic-PC, not even could I blame myself for that matter, but my lack of time and effort to fix it, led me to the point where I decided to just place this responsibility in someone else's hands, and trust me, even Geek Squad asked me if I wished to donate it. Then, just when I finally forced myself to take the matter into my own hands, I sent an email to the company requesting help with saving time on digging up the information for the new parts, when they just asked, "would like to ship it". Zero obligations, 100% free. WOW, was I surprised not even two weeks later. And the best part is that the warranty wasn't even included when I originally purchased my desktop, it was added on later as a "Limited Lifetime Service Policy" to every model ever purchased from the company that actually cares for what they sell to the masses, and if you value trust, I wouldn't spend my dime elsewhere.
Configuration set up is very easy to use and understand. Mine is a preorder of a laptop that is still on a boat in the Pacific so I do not have it in hand but the ability to configure all the drive ports was very helpful, especially when I will be promoting some SSD to the new machine.
Good choices on thermal compound/heatsinks, too.
Horrible customer service, did not receive a product i payed for, they left me no options, ignored me completely at some point, and i never received a refund, avoid XTOPIC at all costs, go with someone else by all means dont make the same mistake i have, READ THE REVIEWS BUT NOT ON GOOGLE
Overall I was happy with my laptop, but when there was an accident and the casing needed repair I sent it in. That was more than four months ago, and I still don't have it back. There seems to be no communication between the various departments, everything takes forever, and when I attempt to confront a member of management I get nothing but excuses and no accountability.
Three laptops. The first two cost just at $1000. Both of those laptops fell apart as their cases starting dissolving, starting at the hinges. Both of these breakdowns started at ~ 16 months. I don't travel with my personal laptop so this was just normal wear-and-tear closing the lid before I went to bed. The laptops didn't leave my couch.
So I'm such a genius, I figure that my problem is that I'm buying the "low rent" gaming laptops. I drop $2200 on yet another Sager laptop from XoticPC. This one lasts only 15 months before the hinge locks, the bezel breaks, and the second hinge cracks the case.
These are NOT well made laptops. The first two laptops I RMA'd three times. The third $2200 laptop I refuse to throw one good cent more after bad. And these laptops are BAD.
The Sager batteries, brand new, are lucky to last 45 minutes. I can't even smoke a cigar on my lanai without the cigar outlasting the Sager battery.
My $2200 laptop had some kind of issue with the speaker. I could barely hear it at max volume.
THESE ARE NOT GOOD LAPTOPS AND NOT GOOD INVESTMENTS.
Answer: Scam. Sells faulty machines. I believe that when xoticpc discovers they have a broken or faulty laptop, sells the product to the consumer anyways, asking THEM to do an RMA instead of performing any quality control whatsoever
Answer: It is impossible. After a month of trying, chat never answered, never emailed back, etc. I found only way was to call sales. They answered that line on first ring. After many tries finally got through, but no help from them once I did. Read my review
Answer: I bought a $2500 PC from this company and had to RMA it after only having it for a month. After I got it back everything was fine for about 5 months and then the PC started randomly shutting down and XoticPC wanted 90 dollars just to send it back to them to have them fix it and another 60 to have them ship it back to me. So, 150 dollars later I receive my PC back from them only to find out they didn't fix the problem. I'm sure they'll want another 150 just to not fix it again. They only issue refunds to machines bought in the last 30 days. Steer clear of this company.
