Site hasn't been up in months. Charges money $75 to register for on line auction and it hasn't been operational in months. No where to bid on items or get your money back.

My experience was terrible. Only used about half my bids and haven't been able to log in again. Never won anything and probably never will. This is the second site that tricked me into joining and both experiences were bad. I would advise anyone to check things out before spending any money. I guess we're all a little greedy but we have to be a little smarter.

COMPLAINT ACTIVITY REPORT Case # ******* Better Business Bureau, Inc.

Business Info: XBids.com
One Market Street Spear Tower 35th Floor
San Francisco, CA *******
- *******437

Location Involved: (Same as above)

Consumer's Original Complaint:
I did not cancel my account it was canceled after I had received a phone call because I was upset about a $75 unknown charge and it was explained to me but i was not satisfied with the explanation. I was told i could get a refund on the remaining amount but i didn't want that and when I tried later to get on my account it was closed. I was told I canceled, that is not true. I have been trying for more then a month to try to resolve this. I had bids left and wanted to use them and they were taken away. I did win one item and I have not recieved it either. I paid for these bids and am not happy with the outcome or the way i have been treated. I tried my hardest to resolve this but They do not call for I have left my phone number with them many times and they will not answer my questions and even have had to send several email before I get a response.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:
I want my $75 dollars back!

I won over $7000 worth of items on this site. From a 47"LG TV, IPad, IPod, Samsung camera, Nintendo DSI, Samsung camera, Sony IPod docking station, Sony Blu-Ray player, JVC pocket camcorder, Amazon Kindle, etc. and have gotten nothing. I have all confirmation emails from Xbids on items I won and I've even paid shipping. I won all items between Dec 4th 2010 and Jan 6th 2011 and after tons of emails about how their shipping is backed up, they are now gone. My credit card company won't help me because it was a debit card (Wells Fargo sucks). If anybody knows how I can get my items, my money back, or how to get back at this company please let me know *******@aol.com. Bunches of unkept promises really pisses me off

The idea is actually very good... You bid on products that you want to buy and if you win, you typically pay less than retail. If you do not win, you simply pay the difference between bids placed and retail price. Problem is you never get your products. I won two and bought two items, which have never been delivered and one was unfortunately a $729 iPad. The site was in maintenance mode for 3-4 weeks and now (3/3/2011), the site is down. In addition, credit card company's are reluctant to dispute the charges because they say you bought the bids. Well that may be true but the vendor (xbids.com) never fulfilled their obligation to the customer(s). Unfortunately, it appears to be a total scam. Don't know why no one has filed legal action against them. I would be one of the first in line.

They stole $75 from me as I was only trying to set up an account. I had to file a dispute with my bank to get my money back after they had promised me a refund in an email.

I won a 42" LG HDTV on December 31st 2010 and an 8MW iPod shortly thereafter. I paid for them just as told and have been waiting for them to be shipped ever since. In mid-January I got an e-mail saying they were backed up and I just had to be patient. Strangely, their website has been down for "scheduled maintenance" ever since then. Checking the web, there are several people in my exact situation - having been told exactly the same thing. My BBB complaint appears to be going without response. As of 2/14/2011, BBB found out that their address is virtual - that there are no offices or people at the address they list for their business. Want a penny auction? Go to quibids. Their BBB rating is "A" and they deserve it. Prompt courteous and delivers on time.

This site appears to be out of business... nothing has been shipped since Nov 30,2010 according to those I have spoken too. I have been scammed too out of over 30 items including buy now ones. I have already called my credit card company and file the report. You need to do the same aSAP before its too late to file a dispute.

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre28.shtm

Go here and file the complaint… I have been advised to do this one too and hoping everyone will do the same. Please email me back once you have filed your complaint…. THANKS *******@yahoo.com

Also, it has tons of great in site about this issue too.

GOOD LUCK
Nancy

Has anybody noticed that the X-bids website has been down for Planned System Maintenance for over a month now. Does anyone think that they just took our money and ran away. This site is such scam. I can't beleive I was so dumb to sign up with them. I hope they get prosecuted for fraud.

Like everyone else...
February 18, 2011

Like everyone else... sounded good, paid my $75 bucks to get started and soon found it was a total scam and waste of time. I contacted them via e-mail and requested a refund of remaining money ($68). Next day I received a phone call from them and after much whining they agreed to refund my money. Then received an e-mail stating my refund could take up to 14-30 days (c'mon, in this day of computers... give me a break). I played the waiting game and at the end of 14 days emailed again. Their response was they had just processed it and it would be coming...(yeah... the check is in the mail). Long story short - several more emails and they refused to even acknowledge me. One month later gee... no money so I decided that was the last I'd see of it. As a side note - a few days later my debit account is suddenly being charged unauthorized charges to the tune of approximately $1500 by persons unknown (wink, wink). Was able to nullify those damages. Bottom line, run away from this sorry excuse of miserable human beings. PUT THE WORD OUT.

It is a scam in that you pay for bids that are used to win items. The company has pulled the plug on the site and has left people with worthless bids. Some of the winners have not received their merchendise. Be forewarned about these sites.
