“My experience was terrible”

Alvin A.
4/1/11

My experience was terrible. Only used about half my bids and haven't been able to log in again. Never won anything and probably never will. This is the second site that tricked me into joining and both experiences were bad. I would advise anyone to check things out before spending any money. I guess we're all a little greedy but we have to be a little smarter.

Has anybody noticed that the X-bids website has been down for Planned System Maintenance for over a month now. Does anyone think that they just took our money and ran away. This site is such scam. I can't beleive I was so dumb to sign up with them. I hope they get prosecuted for fraud.

I saw an xbids from yahoo and I signed up cost was 75.00 I immeadiatly started bidding and won a gift card. That was over 18 days ago. I contacted customer service to ask why I hadn't received my card yet. They told me it was a vendor problem and that I would get my card. I'm still waiting. Wish I wouldn't of wasted my time or money. I gonna try to dispute the credit card charges for the sign up. Didn't get anything from them but empty promises.

Tried this out on 12/10/10 and won an IPOD touch (32gb) for $1.67, also won a target $50 giftcard for. 57. Was very excited... however, it is January 14th ----- 5 weeks later and still no product. I have sent numerous emails to customer support only to have a "pat on the head" and the ticket closed... saying it's on it's way. Save your money and time, it's not worth it...

I was scammed out of 715.18 by xbids. I did the buy it now at the end of an auction for an Apple Ipad. They took my money immediately but have nver sent the merchandise. That was 2 months ago and I have exchanged numerous emails with them. They keep giving me the run around but never come through with shipping the item or refunding my money. I wish I could get them in a court room in Arkansas.

I bought(won) an item which I paid for 20 days ago. When I did not receive it within 2 weeks, I sent an email. They replied to the email (automated). The item has not been shipped. Their website has been down for 4 days without explanation. There is no way to contact anyone connected to this website. I want to know where my item is and why I have not received it or any correspondence with them?

Got the bids. OK, did not have a issue with that. Even won a Tom Tom, yet still haven't received that, sites "down for maintenance. Here is what my issue is, along with HOW MANY OTHERS? If I got ripped, my stupid fault, yet still had 2 bids left, so that leaves my account OPEN. Emailed with no avail, can't get into the site to close my account. So what I am getting at is are they draining all open accounts? Something to think about. I am freezing my card to where nothing can get pulled out of it

This site is a scam. As everyone before me has said. It cost $75.00 to sign on and twenty free bids. If you must use on of these penny auctions sites. I would recommend Quibids, I have won several items big and small, never dose the clock freeze customer service is great. Items ship quick and they too make a lot of money you should just buy what you need. Save up of the TV.

I won a $100 Wal-Mart gift card on December 14. As of Jan 12 it still has not been shipped. Four (4) responses from Jessica of xBids have failed to advise when a simple gift card will be shipped. All it takes is an envelope with proper postage to mail a gift card. As of today, Jessica cannot advise as to when it will be shipped, maybe this week, maybe next week but doesn't know. My advice, don't participate in auctions at this web-site unless you do not care when you receive the item. Frankly, a month to ship a gift card borders on negligence!

Like everyone else... sounded good, paid my $75 bucks to get started and soon found it was a total scam and waste of time. I contacted them via e-mail and requested a refund of remaining money ($68). Next day I received a phone call from them and after much whining they agreed to refund my money. Then received an e-mail stating my refund could take up to 14-30 days (c'mon, in this day of computers... give me a break). I played the waiting game and at the end of 14 days emailed again. Their response was they had just processed it and it would be coming...(yeah... the check is in the mail). Long story short - several more emails and they refused to even acknowledge me. One month later gee... no money so I decided that was the last I'd see of it. As a side note - a few days later my debit account is suddenly being charged unauthorized charges to the tune of approximately $1500 by persons unknown (wink, wink). Was able to nullify those damages. Bottom line, run away from this sorry excuse of miserable human beings. PUT THE WORD OUT.

I too fell for this, I can't believe I did! I should have remembered the old saying "if it is to good to be true it usually is". I lost $75.00 of my hard earned money only because I wanted to get my son a Kendal. Shame on those who do this to hard working people just because they are to lazy to get out and work like the rest of us. They will answer for it in the end one way or another.

Over 12-years online and over 100 different transaction, I've never seen a company act like this before... I swear I'm so mad I wish I could put my hands around one of thems throat and I might feel better... I told them I wanted to open a account for 25$, well they said yes, but I looked at my bids and it was like 70-bids I knew it was to much... I told then that I wanted a refund so I could get out, when a company just take your money and do what they want you can't trust them...
The next day my account was shut and no more bids... Now I can't even email them... There is no freaking way to get these punks... They need to be stopped Quick...

Rip off, rip off, rip off. 5 weeks later, still no walmart gift card... customer service says shipping department all backed up. Ended up paying the actual price for it, hard to believe that anyone gets stuff for 90% off, the auctions just never end.

STAY FAR AWAY... wish I did...

THIS IS A TOTAL FRAUD!

I NEVER EVEN KNEW I HAD BEEN CHARGED FOR ANYTHING UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE - I WAS MERELY FOLLOWING THE SUGGESTION OF A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ON-LINE REFERENCING "20 FREE BIDS". THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT I SIGNED UP FOR - NOT $75 OF "BIDS".

FOR EVERY LUCKY PERSON THERE ARE SURELY HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS OF OTHERS THAT WERE RIPPED OFF.

CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND DISPUTE - THAT IS WHAT I AM DOING!

xBids.com is a scam, and with terrible customer service. I was tricked into sign up with 25 free bids. It turned out they automatically charged $75.00 for it. I since then wrote to few times and finally received a call from them promising that they will refund total $75.00, but it could take up to 30 days. I also received an email as following:
=====
We have processed your refund and you should see the money back in your account within 7-10 business days. However, some banks can take up to 30 days.

We are very sorry on the wait, but rest assured you will see your money soon.
We've processed your refund for the amount of $75.00

Thank you very much for your patience.

Please note: Your account has been canceled and you are not allowed to open a new account at xBids.com at this time.
======

That was on Nov. 17,2010. I have no problem to won't allow me to open a new account as I would ever intent to have anything to do with them. But the problem is that I still have not received the refund as of today, Jan 10,2011. I sent more emails to them, but this time no one responds.

I won over $7000 worth of items on this site. From a 47"LG TV, IPad, IPod, Samsung camera, Nintendo DSI, Samsung camera, Sony IPod docking station, Sony Blu-Ray player, JVC pocket camcorder, Amazon Kindle, etc. and have gotten nothing. I have all confirmation emails from Xbids on items I won and I've even paid shipping. I won all items between Dec 4th 2010 and Jan 6th 2011 and after tons of emails about how their shipping is backed up, they are now gone. My credit card company won't help me because it was a debit card (Wells Fargo sucks). If anybody knows how I can get my items, my money back, or how to get back at this company please let me know *******@aol.com. Bunches of unkept promises really pisses me off

Visited website, said didn't need credit card to use site, but then when you sign up they need it to verify who you are, then they charge your card $75.00. I called talked to customer service they said let it roll thru billing cycle then they would refund. Pffffffft NOT!

The idea is actually very good... You bid on products that you want to buy and if you win, you typically pay less than retail. If you do not win, you simply pay the difference between bids placed and retail price. Problem is you never get your products. I won two and bought two items, which have never been delivered and one was unfortunately a $729 iPad. The site was in maintenance mode for 3-4 weeks and now (3/3/2011), the site is down. In addition, credit card company's are reluctant to dispute the charges because they say you bought the bids. Well that may be true but the vendor (xbids.com) never fulfilled their obligation to the customer(s). Unfortunately, it appears to be a total scam. Don't know why no one has filed legal action against them. I would be one of the first in line.

It is a scam and the liklihood of you winning anything but a voucher to get more bids is about nil. When you sign in you don't realize it but you are actually charged
75.00 to start bidding. Each bid is 60 cents. I have 136 bids left and there is almost no way to win anything. They have maybe 2 TVs a couple of cameras and one of two IPADS and then some ginsu knives hand sanitizer batteries and a vacuum cleaner PALLLEESE don't do this I am ashamed of how stupid I was to even try it
