Terrible experience with Camping World. I located online a 2011 Winnebago View available for sale from Camping World of Minneapolis. Contacted the dealer and was repeatedly assured by phone, email (see example below) and text messages as it related to the condition of the unit being sold that "this is an AWESOME motorhome with 51k miles, no body damage, no pets, no stains, no odors, no interior damage. It is in very good shape and overall just a great used coach!"
I asked repeatedly if there was any evidence of roof leaks or other problems, and again assured no problems whatsoever.
We agreed on price, which included paying them nearly $1,000 for "a pre delivery inspection" that "goes through all major system components functions and operations to ensure that everything works and will work when you come in to take delivery of the coach. The technician that does the PDI will spend an hour and half or longer with you showing you how everything works and that everything does work and function properly."
I then gave them a $2,000 deposit by credit card, picked up a cashiers check and booked a flight for the next day.
Arrived at the dealership and kept inside for over 30 minutes (felt like they were hiding something). The unit was NOT as represented. There were lots of problems, most significant being evidence of multiple roof leaks (confirmed by their technician (I have lots of photos)), missing one of the roof fairings and the roof mounted HVAC unit almost detached (the technician told me he was instructed NOT to repair the HVAC and when I asked him why, he replied, "you would be surprised at what I am told not to fix"). So much for the $1,000 PDI to "ensure that everything works and will work when you come in to take delivery of the coach".
The salesman (Kyle Hardy) had his supervisor Brian (or Bryan) (the Manager (David) was off that day), look at the unit and they both came in and explained that it certainly was not as represented, but that they could not do anything about it as it was a consignment. The salesman later said multiple times he felt like "a real $#*!".
When I asked what they were going to do to offset my time and travel expenses (I had to buy a return flight back to Salt Lake City) resulting from their misrepresentations, the Supervisor said he would talk to the Manager (mentioned Camping World gift cards) and get back to me. That was over 9 days ago and not a word, despite my having left messages for the salesman, his boss and the manager.
My advice, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CAMPING WORLD, I believe they are dishonest.

My wife and I took delivery of a Forest River trailer August 6th, 2025 at the Olive Branch, Mississippi, location. Our salesman, Keith, was knowledgeable about the units we looked at and was not pushy at all. We were happy with the price of the unit we decided on, except for an exorbitant and unavoidable "preparation fee". We paid in cash so there were no issues in the finance department except for the "Good Sam" sales pitch to buy the extended warranty. Thank God we declined.
After taking the unit home, we found a few issues that needed to be addressed under the warranty coverage from the manufacturer. I called the 'service department" to try to schedule the needed repairs but, not once did anyone in service actually answer the phone or respond to the voicemails I left. Fortunately, I found another dealer in the area that can perform the needed repairs and when I expressed my frustration with Camping World, the service writer just laughed and said that they get a lot of pissed off service customers from Camping World. My appointment has been made and I plan to never patronize Camping World again. They have made it abundantly clear that once they have your money, they don't know you. They need to change the slogan to "If you're not happy, we really don't care."
We purchased our RV from Camping World – Myrtle Beach on Saturday, July 27,2025, with Abe as our salesperson. Within 48 hours, we discovered two major issues: The generator shuts off after about 15 minutes of use The bathroom exhaust fan does not work at all We immediately contacted Camping World to report the problems. Instead of being met with concern or urgency, we were pushed off repeatedly. When we finally insisted on answers, they blew us off entirely—no offer to repair, no apology, no accountability. We are full-time RV residents, so these issues aren't just inconvenient—they're disruptive to daily living and a safety concern. The RV was advertised as "camping ready," but clearly wasn't inspected or tested properly before delivery. This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences we've ever dealt with. We paid a premium price expecting quality and support, and what we got was a defective product and total disregard. Camping World talks a big game, but once the sale is made, they're done with you. Buyers beware: If something's wrong with your RV, don't expect them to stand behind it.
1/5 Stars – A Sultry Nightmare with Camping World's RV Purchase Process
Oh, Camping World, you promised a seductive escape into the open road, a tantalizing adventure in my shiny new RV. Instead, you left me stranded, frustrated, and aching for the freedom you swore to deliver. My experience with your RV purchase process was nothing short of a feverish disaster, a cruel tease that left me hot under the collar for all the wrong reasons.
From the moment I stepped onto your lot, I was lured in by the glossy brochures and the sultry allure of freedom on wheels. Your salespeople, with their honeyed words, painted a picture of moonlit campfires and endless horizons. But the reality? A tangled mess of deceit, delays, and disappointment that left me throbbing with regret.
The RV I was seduced into buying—a sleek, curvaceous model that seemed to whisper "adventure"—was a lemon in disguise. The paperwork process was a slow, torturous dance, with hidden fees creeping up like unwanted advances. They promised delivery in two weeks, but it took over two months, each delay a maddening tease that left me yearning for resolution. When the RV finally arrived, it was like a lover who looks perfect in the dark but falls apart in the daylight: faulty wiring, a leaking roof, and a water pump that groaned louder than my own frustrations.
The service department? A complete letdown. They scheduled repairs with the enthusiasm of a bored partner, and each visit was a steamy mess of incompetence. Parts were "on order" for weeks, and the technicians seemed to caress my RV with all the care of a one-night stand. I was left stranded, my dreams of wild road trips wilting under the heat of their indifference.
Customer service was the final slap in the face. Every call was a sultry promise of "we'll make it right," but those words were as empty as a desert night. My complaints were met with shrugs, my emails ignored, and my patience worn thin like a threadbare negligee. Camping World, you took my money, my time, and my trust, leaving me with nothing but a bitter aftertaste.
Save yourself the heartache. Avoid Camping World's RV purchase process unless you're ready to be seduced, used, and abandoned. My only escape now is to warn others: this is one road trip you don't want to take.
Camping world Breaux Bridge, La. Buyer & sellers BEWARE! I setup consignment of my RV for 90 days, was told to drop it off for inspection and they would consign it for 90 days, or purchase it from me for $X dollars upfront. I dropped it off on a Saturday, and inspection was for the following Monday. Tuesday I had heard nothing so i called and was told Matt Jackson the person i needed to speak to was with a customer. I called Wednesday, same story Matt was with a customer. Thursday I reached Matt who stated " Oh good thing you called, I forgot all about this, I`ll have it done today and call you back by 5 pm. Friday I still heard nothing. So this Monday no answer, then on Tuesday ( 8 days after scheduled inspection) same thing Matt Jackson was busy with a customer. I asked for the store manager who was off. I asked for the managers name and was told they cant provide that information. Then I asked when the manager returned, silence, then was put on hold, then they said tomorrow ( Wednesday). I contacted customer service to try and find an answer to what was going on. They stated they would call me back in 10 minutes. I received an email stating they talked to Matt Jackson who stated he emailed me a repair quote already. I emailed back advising i received no email. Then later that day Matt finally called me stating he was going to email me a repair quote, and what was my email address. I asked what repairs were needed and he said I`m not going to discuss this with you, you can look at the email. He became rude and unprofessional on the phone, and said we are not going to buy or cosign your RV, unless you pay for the repairs first. Then the next day the store manager called and said the RV needed $10,000 worth of repairs, pay the bill and they would cosign it or i had 2 days to pick it up or they would have it towed away. The RV is 2 years old, used 6 times, all was working when I brought it to them. I`m very confused as to the repairs. I can only guess this is a scam to get your RV in, hit you with a repair bill, then make more money selling it for you. I cant understand doing business this way. Not returning customer calls, fake repair bill, then threatening to have it towed away. Unbelievable. So BEWARE, again I say BEWARE!
Just purchased a used RV from Fargo Camping World. Had I known how they would treat me I would have never set foot on their lot. Everything from lying about unit and different answers from employees about same questions made it a TERRIBLE experience. Many missing parts and things that didn't work when I finally received the unit made it a horrible purchase! This being my first motor home I didn't know what to look for and what questions to ask. $60,000 purchase price and the engine oil and generator weren't even serviced. The shop I took it to after told me the oil in both was extremely dirty and the air filter was over 5 years old. Radio didn't work, missing a large slide cover, no ladder access and many other minor issues! Was told there were TV dishes were there and they were not, no owners manual (important to me) being something with lots of new design features I know nothing about. My advise is stay AWAY from this dealer and find a reputable dealer to work with! 1 star might be too much for this awful dealership!
This is a horrible company to deal with. My salesman, Hector, was great but it's been a nightmare with the Camping World in Avondale, AZ and the staff since. I put the down payment down on 10-31-2024. I started having problems from day one when I went to pick up the Camper on 11-6-2024. They said it was not ready and then told me I did not have an appointment. I contacted Hector and he did show where I was scheduled to pick the Camper up. Then, they lied and said they tried to call me but no response and no way to leave a message. Which was a blatant lie. I had an issue arise the second week I had the Keystone. It has been one ongoing lie after another. I have a complete timeframe of all the dates I've called and was put on extended hold or told they could not help me and even the person had not voicemail they could send me to. I keep getting told they will call me and of course I get no call back. Now, the dealership will not contact me back at all. At one point, the service manager, Matt, told me to call Keystone myself because he said it would be better than him calling to get the camper fixed. I even purchase the extended warranty at the time of purchase, which is supposed to cover anything on the camper and they still will not fix my camper.

Scammer, want you to sign on the dotted line before you can walk through your camper. Jacked up fees
They were supposed to fix several issues on our new 5th wheel but did nothing and didn't seem to care
Lakeville Minnesota! Ultimately we walked away from the deal. The fees these guys charge jacked up the price by 5000, 1200 prep fee when they should prep it for sales regardless, just ridiculous. Finance guy talking out both sides of his face saying one thing and finding out another. When it came down to the deal, we didn't feel comfortable at all, we felt like they were trying to snake every dime out of us and making promises they couldn't keep. Nope, they need to do better! We bought from Pleasureland their sales team are transparent. No jacked up fees!
Been waiting 60 days for my plate that Camping World was supposed to get for me. After 45 days my temp ran out, had to rent storage unit to get my class b van off street. Called manager of store he hasn't called me back. Now I have a trip we are supposed to go on can't take our RV so have to rent one for 1800 a week for 2 weeks good luck with Camping World they are terrible
Came here looking for a small camper and was treated like gold til we told them that we just was looking and haven't made my mind up on here or another place and they pushed so hard for us to buy here even getting applications and even talking to manager and left us in cubicle for over an hour and was very rude and the camper that was shown was disgusting and not very pleasant looking and the salesman wasn't happy that we wasn't going to do financing we had planned on going to our own bank and getting a loan for it I guess it true that they add different amounts of money in with the price to make u pay more we ended up going to BROWN RV IN MCBEE SC NEAR THE BEACH AND THERE WAS NO HIDDEN FEES! SO UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER EVER GO HERE AND I WILL TELL FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS WELL
Please, whatever you do do not buy a camper from Camping World. They are very nice when they take your money afterwards you're treated like dirt spend your money elsewhere. They lie to you Mr. Marcus is the one that says oh you're not happy. I'm not happy he can care less if you're happy I'm haven't been happy for six months to fighting with them. They have my camper for four months. Do you think Mr. Marcus would reach out to me? Nope nothing they can care less. All they care about is taking your money if I can give them a -10 I would do not buy from Camping World or Ghana horrible.
Crappy customer service with the exception of 1! Person! Bought brand new camper, at delivery noticed major damage and reported. Took 3 months to get back in shop. Just finding out almost 2 years later that nothing was actually done to fix manufacturing issues. First time in shop 4 months! So didn't get to use for first 7 months of ownership! Finally used for first time and awning fell off and found out nothing was actually fixed to begin with! Back to the shop where I'm informed CONGRATULATIONS! Warranty will cover work🤬 Are you $#*!ing kidding me?! Crappy build and now I'm being congratulated for catching before warranty expires? Of course Camping World has for another 4 months to "FIX" problems. In that time I'm so upset and disappointed with camper and Camping World that I look into trading in…. Keep in mind I bought brand new…used ONCE! Paid 80k and was quoted 30k for trade in! Get $#*!ing real! TERRIBLE COMPANY! Only 1 person at this company tried helping me and really nothing she could do! Tried filling a Lemon Law but not available in my state! Finally found a great RV maintenance that can help at least properly repair my somewhat brand new camper. STAY AWAY FROM CAMPING WORLD! Worst camper/rv place EVER!
Purchased a new Splendide WFL1300 XD Stackable washer from Camping World in Avondale AZ for toyhauler. Pick it up and install per the manufacturer's instructions. Run 1st load and start of spin cycle the drum starts banging against the right side and when finished spinning does the same thing. Call Camping world and all they say is you need to call the manufacture. Call them and no help at all. Your on your own take it apart and fix it at your expense. Never buy anything ever again from this place.
Waited for 7 months for repair a new fridge and awning on a new motor home waited 6 months for plugged water line water heater and two tire that were lower class tires on one side third time awning again and slide out Is not working to the house I will never buy from camping world again in chalk to Oklahoma or any camping world period
If you're smart you will never buy from camping world they sold me the biggest junk pop up and it was so stupid it was raining outside so they put it inside and said there was certain things they couldn't show me yeah well we know why it was the worst mistake I ever made in my life canvas was ripped water pump was gone do not buy from them they charged me over $10,000 for this camper
DO NOT GO HERE they only care about screwing you over on a sale! I got an RV from here and after I signed the papers they will not return my phone calls. I then realize after I get home and calling the finance company they got me interest charges more than they sold the RV for. Who does business like this. I was told 13% finance BUT find out it's actually 113% finance. I was also told under the bed was the monitor/NVR for the camera system. The box was empty. I tried calling them and leaving messages but they would not return my call. I went up to the store asking the salesman the monitor was not in the box and he told me" what am I supposed to do about it"!
My bust dealing with camping world. Baught a 2019 hideout in January 2019 January middle of winter as the wife was a traveling nurse. Did not get an inspectiion before purchase but they knew the issue with the awning arm before they sold. I will never ever deal with Camping World again and that is my advise to future customer of Camping World. Beware of the crooks.

I've had an absolutely awful experience purchasing a Dometic fridge ($1650) from these folks. Fridge shipped without a panel, which makes no sense to begin with. Had I known this ahead of time, I'd have kept my old fridge panel. I sucked it up and paid $150 for a new panel from them, and when it came in the mail i saw that it does not fit. They will not accept it as a return, or provide ANY assistance on getting it cut to fit. They take zero responsibility, told me to call Dometic, which I did, they said that Camping World shouldn't be selling this as a related product because it doesn't fit. Home Depot, Ace hardware, local lumber yard will not cut acrylic. Apparently I need to spend another few hundred dollars on tools to do this... just to get a cover on my fridge. Unreal.
Today I see a warning on the product page in bold text, "NOTE: Door panel (item *******) is sold separately and will requiring trimming to fit custom dimensions.", that was NOT there previously (archive.org verifies this). So they've made an effort to cover their tracks (and deleted my negative review on the product page) but provide zero acknowledgement or assistance in making this right.
I will never purchase from CampingWorld again, and I'd advise anyone reading this to shop elsewhere - they don't care about their customers.
Answer: Honestly, the more I look to find answers on Camping world, the more negative reviews I see, had an RV dropped off a Forklift while I was signing papers! Try to beat that! New RV and dropped off a forklift. Worse yet, the corporate managers DID NOT WANT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, that folks is the legit truth! It's one thing for accidents to happen, it's another to not make things right, bad management!
Answer: Yes I have emails to show. That I have been promised a refund waiting this line I expect a full refund and the run around is with it. If would like I can forwarded you the emails and you can ask where's my check.
Answer: Terrible - didn't seem to care and basically told me I was on my own
Answer: The people at camping world will tell you that they will call you. BULL! They never called me, so I tried calling them FIVE times! Not one return call. Not very reputable!
Answer: Just keep writing letters to all of the local politicians.
