WSJ have introducing package that is $69 for 15 bottles. But the second package shipped to me is $177 for 12 bottles. I searched the price for every bottle on google, actually, most of the bottle are $12, then $15, two bottle are $20. I did not see any saving in my WSJ package.
Got sucked in on there 10 bottles for 90 something bucks, 2 out of ten were drinkable, the rest like vinegar, told them I wasn't impressed cancel me, yet they keep debiting my account, wont let me log in,, total tipoff thief's, contacting attorney general, and Bob if my money isn't returned in 24 hrs
The introductory case is inexpensive and decent. It's all down hill after that. Each of my three subsequent orders were trashed with replacement bottles that often included varietals I had already nixed. More than a few bottles were undrinkable. They seem to be playing the game of assuming customers won't complain or ask for refunds. Stick to your local wine store.
Very bitter tannins, very astringent, hard on the tongue, extremely acidic and has hints of straight apple cider vinegar. After half of a glass the rest was poured out. My wife and i have enjoyed the first two bottles of our order but this wine is a big disappointment. I do my research with Vivino. I'm not surprised about this bottle as it has a poor rating and agrees with my comments. It also is a cheap bottle of wine with a cost of $ 4.95. Please remove any similar wines from any new order. Thanks Dr. William A. Miller
Placed on order as a gift to my cousin on October 1. Was supposed to ship out the following week. Nothing. They had no problem billing my cc though. My bank paid WSJ on Oct 6. WSJ said they did not get the money from my bank. SOOOO not true. Got that cleared up and then was told it would be shipped right away. Still nothing. Every phone call to them ended with 'it's shipping tomorrow'. Still nothing. Not sure what the he11 their problem is but I cancelled the order and placed one with Wine.com. Keep in mind that they NEVER called me with any kind of update or issue... I had to call them over and over again. Who needs this?
I wasn't able to receive my wine package twice! They sent it to the wrong address again twice! They don't even have an express shipping just to send it to fast i waited for 3 weeks! Waist of TIME, MONEY, EFFORT & HOPE. So I cancelled everything my membership and my order. Never visiting this site ever again! That's not even my name in the picture.
I am a long time aficionado of Argentine Malbec. Typically looking for vineyards located south of the city of Mendoza at higher (cooler) elevations. And most importantly looking for a wine having been kept in oak cask for over one year (Grand Reserva) or at minimum one year (Reserva). I don't find these designations on any of the most recent advertisement of the latest WSJ wine offering. Add to that the very young 2018 vintage and I suspect that the price/value is nothing to write home about. Maybe that is why we see so many complaints about delivery times... looking to age the wine a bit first?
I ordered 12 bottles of wine along with a bonus to include a bottle of Pink Port and 2 crystal glasses which was what I wanted most. Instead I got 15 bottles of wine. After discussing with customer service they told me I had to return the entire order instead of the 3 bottles I was sent in error in order to receive what I had ordered. The case weighs almost 50#. The excuse was sometimes regardless of what is ordered on line, the codes get mixed up. This is not the way to do business if you want to keep customers
This is by far the worst wine club out there. DO NOT BUY!. They held up my shipment by two weeks saying I need to verbally confirm the order but NEVER picked up the phone. When I emailed them to cancel my order they all of a sudden charged my Credit card then delayed my delivery by a month. The auto email response said they would get back in 7 days took them over two weeks.
Price is too high. We asked to un-enroll and they charged us automatically for another shipment. One time we were lucky enough to cancel and tell them to stop it. Second time (3 months later) shipment was already on the way and we got the box. They refused to send someone to pick it up and send us to FedEx. We carried the box to FedEx just to hear they cannot accept it from someone without permission to sale wine. We called again to ask what's next and they offered us 10 discount of the package. Insulting service and poor attitude.
Do not join this wine club! On May 13,2020, I was notified of my next shipment. In late May and early June, I received email notices that the wine was about to be delivered. On June 4, FedEx told me that the wine had arrived. It hadn't -- and still has not arrived. You cannot get through to customer service (I've tried at least 10 times), and no one responds to email requests. The club is run through Direct Wines in Norwalk, CT. Try contacting them and CEO Adrian Bentham. There is NO customer service from this company. Read the other reviews: they're scathing.
Did not ship my order after 2 months. Cannot reach via telephone, over 1.5 hours waiting. Eventually got an email apologizing but after I followed up again, they canceled my order without my consent. So essentially, held my money for two months and did not fulfill my order. Felt cheated because even though I got my money back, the stress and hassle of trying to reach them, two months of anxiety, plus my money value has depreciated and who knows how many persons they are scamming everyone to keep their cash flow!
As other reviewers have said, this service was once pretty good, now is generally terrible. After 3 unanswered emails about a non-delivered order I finally got a response--that they couldn't track the order using their own order number from that order. When I responded the email bounced back as undeliverable. Good luck getting a refund from these folks.
My introductory order was for reds. When the wines got here, it was a mixture of reds and whites. I called to complain and was told I needed to return the whites before I could get satisfaction. Way too much trouble!
WSJwine is a scam. I just read an expose on the hapless California utility PG&E in the eminent newspaper, the Wall Street Journal. Well, if the editors at the WSJ like to investigate and find the dirt on companies, WSJwine should be their next target. WSJwine has a core of incompetent and dishonest employees whose only skill is generating and taking orders and collecting the money. Shipping and delivery or those orders? Oh it's on the way, you'll get a tracking number for your shipment, etc, none of which are true. Don't sign up for WSJwine.
A few days ago, I checked on the status, and it said "preparing to ship." I was supposed to receive my first order by November 12. I checked it today (November 16), and it says "cancelled." I did not cancel it. I called customer service, and she said she cannot determine why it was cancelled. That was all pointless.
I cancelled club in June 2020 after I was told I was receiving a case of red wine but received a mixed case of red and white with zero wines advertised on my delivery. In September I saw a sale with free shipping. The web site would not take the free shipping code and I called but they could not input the cost advertised. I again checked and was told my membership was cancelled. I got a notification that wine was shipped with no prior notice. I immediately called and was told they would intercept the delivery and my membership was cancelled. The wine arrived under my house and I told them to pick it up. They said I had to call fed ex and set up the pick up. I told them it was their mistake and I should not have to correct their multiple errors. I asked for a supervisor to call me about my issues 3 times and never had a response. The company has no customer problem solving unless it was on the script. They are not responsive to the customer.
I placed my introductory offer order on 4/18. It is 5/13 and I have yet to receive said order. I was on the line for an hour and a half last week before speaking to a human, and it took them another hour to figure out what the issue was. Apparently Fedex damaged my shipment and had to send it back and my new shipment has been "in process" for the last week. Needless to say I cancelled my subscription but am still holding out for that initial order. That I paid for. I'm glad to see I'm not the only frustrated customer leaving a review. Stay away and try FirstLeaf for your next wine subscription.
I tried to cancel my orders way ahead of delivery and I was told that the orders have been canceled with carrier Fedex and they will not be delivered to me, when a Fedex driver showed up, we refused the delivery and it was shipped back to the sender, As of now I still not getting refund. Stay away from this wine club!
I have called. I have emailed. They keep charging me and say they will cancel my membership and then they do not and I get charged again. I have tried to remove my credit card and they do not allow it to be removed. The only thing left to do is to cancel the credit card. Never again!
Answer: The Wall Street Journal owns WSJWine. It is a separate and distinct business from WSJ, but is owned by the company.
Answer: Because their service sucks and very quick to deduct the card but very very sloppy service
Answer: They also have a "free shipping" program called Advantage Shipping Service that you can buy (a la Amazon Prime) for $89/year. I've never purchased it because it's only valid on full cases, and I don't usually buy enough of those in a year's time to justify the $89. But if you buy at least 5 cases a year, regular shipping costs you $100, so the Advantage program is worth it in that case.
