I am a long time member of the site. I have found it to be a community of very helpful fellow writers and reviewers. I have made long term friends there. My writing has improved. There is always so much to do. It is a great site for both young and older folks. One can be super active or more of an observer. I think tne site owners are awesome people with continuing new, fun ideas. I recommend the site for writers, reviewers, and other community minded people
I've been a member of the WDC (writing.com) site for 4 years now, and still loving everything this site offers. New friends, new stories, new contests all the time. And help is just a click away. They respond so quickly when or if you need help with anything. WDC ROCKS!
Hello fellow writers,
This is a great place online to read others' work and hone your own craft. I have not been very good a discipling myself to write regularly, however this 3 months subscription I hope is a step toward that goal.
Anyone who wants to be a writer should get an account with this site. You'll find fun contests with the chance to write everything from poetry to sci-fi epics. Even if you don't enter the contests, you'll find people to review your work if you put it out there.
Writing.com is one of the most complete, organized and welcoming writing communities I' ve ever seen. Even for those who aren't expert in English language (as it is for me since I'm Italian) is full of suggestions to get better and of people ready to assist.
I've been a member of WDC since 2007. It has been a community that has helped me through some difficult times as well as made me a better writer. There is a variety of activities depending on the type of writer you, where you can hone your skills. Definitely would recommend for someone wishing to build a writing support system.
This site is different in many ways, some writers appear to be pros and others are just babes tasting the milk. Either way, I have enjoyed this site for, ten yrs and I will continue to support it and the writers that come and go!

With great affection I will explain why WdC is such a great site. It is the best writers community I have ever come across, with its helpful information, its limitless source of inspiration and its perks for writing and reviewing. Within one week I was hooked for life. Hours become days become weeks and I am totally enjoying my time at the site. Thank you for being there for me and my Muse.
I happened onto Writing.com so many years ago now and have found it to be my home away from home and go to place. I have made some dear friends here, gotten excellent help when I've asked questions and in general people are friendly, ready to read and review, provide constructive criticism. An excellent place to come to work on your writing! I have not been disappointed.
I have ordered from their shop and loved the items I received. I use their large WDC coffee mug and it is sturdy, large size and exactly what I was looking for, things are packed well, never received anything broken. As well I order their T-shirts which are nice to wear, I use my for lounge and love them! I plan to stay around here for a long, long, time!
I just happened to stumble upon this site, embarrassingly, and realized that the content here is amazing and the members very inviting. I believe it is a good resource for aspiring writers and has some lovely content for binge readers.
I've been a WDC member since 2006 and I visit the site almost daily. The site has something for everyone, readers and writers alike. Those who want to hone their skills can (and will) find support and constructive criticism; those who want something worth reading have lots of quality writing to choose from. It takes a little time to discover everything the site has to offer, but the benefits are well worth the effort.
I have been a member now for over seven years and I still love being a member. It is a wonderful community for writers of all ages from 13 years and over, for all skill levels and all genres. I have learned a lot since joining and my writing has improved enormously due to the valuable reviews I have received. Whether you write fiction, poetry or non-fiction there is something there for everyone.
I love writing.com but there is only one thing that makes me hate it and it's the resource limitations thing. If you don't like spending that I would go to this website because it happened to overload in the servers and only members get to bypass it.
I've been a member of www.writing.com since the fall of 2015. It is a great place for new writers, casual writers, seasoned writers, published authors, and poets. It is a great site for networking with like minded individuals that want to share their creativity. Everyone is kind, encouraging and helpful. Writing prompts, contests and challenges are provided for writers that want to hone their craft. Story master, the site owner and administrator, is very involved and always available.
Before Writing.com, I had to keep physical copies of my manuscripts, so if I moved, they could get lost. Now, with Writing.com, my writing stays online and I don't need to worry, because wherever I go, it's safe online.
I absolutely love Writing.com. I have been writing on the site since 2007 and it has truly opened me up to new experiences and possibilities. I also enjoy reading what others have to contribute. The creativity on the site is awesome and plentiful. I will be a member of Writing.com for as long as the site exists.
If you wonder if you have what it takes to be a great writer or if you want to become a better writer, Writing.com is the site for you. I was quite terrified when I submitted my writings for review, but, I received many encouraging reviews and suggestions on improving my writings. Their literary contests alone are a wonderful way to spark creativity. I highly recommend it!
I have been with writing.com a few years now, and I have to say it is the best writing site for choice as well as variety. Other sites such as fan fiction.net do not allow other writers to colab on interactives or campfire stories, where a group of writers follow the style of fill-in-the-blanks. The resulting interactive is amazing. Furthermore you can easily view what other works an author has done thanks to the briefcase portfolio icon.
All in all its a great site for anyone looking to start writing.
I would not suggest this. You see, this site is, basically, a pay to use site. Most of the admins aren't particularly nice. It's quite restrictive and one is isn't allowed to post more than ten things unless you pay. I didn't stay there long.
In short, there are other writing websites, worth your time.
I appreciate your feedback. We've taken a different approach than the "free" sites that aren't really "free". By now, everyone knows there is a COST to everything. Everyone knows that "free" means they sell your information to pay for the service! Nothing is "free". Look at all the scandals at Facebook, Google and on and on. Read the business plans of the larger "free" sites. They are NOT charities. Some smaller sites may be NOT selling your information in which case: The site is just a hobby for the admin(s). Hobbies don't last forever and don't be surprised when you log in one day to find the site owner has moved on to something more worth their own time.
To each their own.:-) We've been online providing our services since 2000 -- celebrating our 19th year online serving writers coming up in September! There are few (if any) truly "free" sites that can make sure statements! For less than a cup of coffee per month, we offer a remarkably stable environment for folks serious about their writing.
Where ever you may end up, we sincerely wish you the best with your writing endeavors.
I have been a member of Writing.com for many years. They offer many helpful tools to enhance your writing skills. These tools include encouragement, reviews, newsletters and contests to keep your writing skills flowing. I have found the site easy to use. Go to 'Writing.com'. You'll love it!
Answer: The simplest and most honest answer to this is simply that we, as a site that allows authors to post work, can not possibly stop someone from copying something they've read online and trying to use it as their own. The question you have to ask yourself, more so, is whether or not that's likely to happen. If you feel your work is up to the level that someone could just take it and get it published -- then certainly you should not be joining a writing community to improve your skills -- you should instead be out getting your work published. From our 15 years of experience, having had tens of thousands of authors post work to Writing.Com, we've never heard from anyone that their work has been stolen from our site and published by someone else. I hope this answer helps!
Answer: Sure, that is interesting!:-) You can certainly write about anything that is interesting to you.:-)
Answer: It hasn't been down at all, so this is a difficult question to answer.:-)
Answer: Hello, If I'm understanding the question... you're asking about benefits of our Preferred Author promotion? You are correct in that promotion is recognition within the community more than anything else. There are some ancillary benefits, such as message forums and activities available only to certain portfolio levels, plus certain times where we request the input and/or participation of higher levels within the community. Our Moderators are only chosen from well established Preferred Authors. In addition, higher portfolio levels earn an increased number of Gift Points for logging in each day. Answer: Hello, No, we do not have with "landing pages". It sounds like you're looking for a search engine placement company and that's not what we are. Good luck!
Answer: The answer is 0. Spending has nothing to do with promotions on Writing.Com. The qualifications for promotion include reviewing and interaction on the site, along with minimum amounts of time on the site. The full qualifications are listed in "Writing.Com 101" which is linked from the top of each page. Promotions are made manually, however... and Writing.Com is a literal "Mom and Pop shop" -- two people. Active members in our community also know that our 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia the first week of September, so they know that this type of manual promotion is not something we have time to take care of right now. We'll be back to it as we work through and manage our family health issues.
Answer: Hello! The site definitely exists. We've sent your activation code and replied to each of your emails. Unfortunately, it seems your email provider is blocking your receipt of email from Writing.Com. You can contact them directly and ask them to be sure to whitelist Writing.Com emails or you can setup an alternate email to communicate with us and receive our emails. Google's GMail is a great and reliable email solution.
Answer: Yes! There are nearly infinite usernames available.:-)
Answer: We are not Letgo. You are asking on the wrong site.:-)
Answer: We are not Letgo. You are asking on the wrong site.:-)
