I thought I could write before I joined Writing.com, but I've learned so much in the past 4 years that I'm embarrassed about how inexperienced I was back then. I've worked hard on my stories and met amazingly talented people who were all willing to help a newb. In 2013, I got a literary agent and a book contract. Now my book's on Amazon and many other vendors, and it's all because of the awesome writing community at Writing.com.

This site has some creative resources that can really help develop your writing skills. it was the first writing site I had ever used, Then I switched to another, which was full of nasty stalkers, so I returned to writing. Com. Unfortunately, My stalkers followed and when I complained to the site admin, they were unresponsive and it continued, leaving me no option but to leave. I believe the story mistress there may have known my harasser, as she awarded a music badge to him or her, and allowed the breach of their so called policies to continue. I was then hacked by this stalker, but they remain on writing.com. I can no longer recommend this as a safe site.

Firstly this website has been around for 13 years. That track record speaks for itself. As a writer you can choose where you want to expose your writing and who you want to read it. You can surf the net and find many sites. I chose writing.com for the sincerity, people and track record. You can only consider them a success story. I want to be a part of that and it's been an amazing experience.

From the writers to the top boss. I just received a postcard from them and I'm on the other side of the world. In my company there is 300 to 500 employees and my boss doesn't even know my name!

I enjoy this site for the help it gives me to build as a writer but essentially for the way it is made. Sure I could be a part of a site that has all these amazing bells and whistles on it, but underneath that all the people running that website are fake. At least here everything feels real.

Writing.com is a home to many writers and that includes me.

I came to Stories.Com on 3/18/02 which changed its name to Writing.Com. I left for medical reasons in 2005 for less than a month. Medical reasons cleared up and I came back and started over again so with the exception of that one month I have been here ever since. When I left I was a Preferred Author. I have made it back plus. Now as a Moderator I am about to say at 73 years old I will stay as long as I can. Why? Because Writing dot Com is the best place for an old poet like me due to the constant efforts of the Story Master and the Story Mistress.

I joined the site some one and a half year ago. And I have fallen in love with the site. It has many options to facilitate each kind of writers- books, interactive, statics, groups etc. The site hosts variety of member-run contests, activities, and even some workshops and classes.

When I joined the site, I was an amateur. I'm still amateur, but now writing is like breathing to me. I never lack for any inspiration due to the numerous activities on site. I started as a free member, and now I'm an upgraded members for more than a year. I'm actually completely addicted to the site

Yes, it is great because I have an online portfolio for all my poetry, because it has encouraged me to get into writing other things like short stories, because of the vast array of inspiring contests and activities available, because I have made friends from all over the World, because I can discuss a hobby with people who have the same hobby, because of the kind gestures, gifts and words from fellow members... but most of all...

Because on Writing.com you are never alone!

I would recommend this site to anyone with an interest in writing of any type - poetry, fiction, articles, song lyrics and anything in between. Whether your main desire in life is to become a published author or whether you just want to meet people who enjoy writing in one way or another and be part of a fabulous community - WDC is for you!

I enjoy writing reviews, as an author, you want readers, and you like to know how they are affected and feel about your work. As for a review for writing.com, I feel you need to experience the community to fully understand. Words, simply are not enough.

My experience with my family here at WDC, goes well beyond words. I have learned to write, and I continue to learn new and exciting ways to communicate through writing, using imagery in the sense of how a writer can describe an experience in such a way, you can see it, in your minds eye.

From day one, about four years ago, I felt like family, and our bond has grown stronger every day. As for loving WDC enough to want to tell the whole world. I do, I tell everyone I am aware of that either likes to read, or write. Take a few moments, browse some of the communities works, and you may find, your family also.

I have been a member of Writing.com for nine years and have spent the last four as a moderator there. The members that come to the site for actual writing feedback and take part in the community will see that the site members become like family. The site owners/staff are constantly trying to improve the site and the member's experiences. While I can't speak for everyone, look at the reviews from people who have spent "years" at this site, not the ones that specifically want to take part in only one particular activity (the interactive fetish stories) and don't really want to improve their writing or join in a community atmosphere to help form your opinions.

I've been a member of WDC for eleven years now. I've learned a lot, both about writing and dealing with criticism. I've won official contests, and I've been told my writing "lacks literary merit." Are there cliques on WDC? Yes. Are there people that will praise/trash your writing no matter the content? Yes. But if you are starting out as a writer I encourage you to sign up. Find those people on the site that know what they're talking about and listen. Grow as a writer, and grow thick skin. Good luck.

This is more than a transaction, I need my relationship with this site in order to feel whole inside. That's what Writing.com has done for me as a person, and an individual. As a member with more than 13 years invested in this site, it just is a wonderful place to write poetry, short stories, editorial pieces, whatever it is you want to express in writing - this is the place for you! I have been a member of the Writing.com community since 2006, and during that time have found it to be very valuable. While you don't see other writers face-to-face in online communities such as this, there is a wealth of helpful information about how to become a better writer as well as a large base of other writers, from around the world, who are there to review your work and provide feedback.

The membership comes in a number of levels from free to a few hundred dollars per year. I pay something for my membership, and the benefits are worth it in terms of storage space and access to additional features.

I have watched Writing.com grow over the past eleven years, and I really like how the site is managed and the courtesy given by both the system admins and the other members.

I highly recommend it!

I have been a member of Writing Dot Com since 2007. It has become an online home to me. It is open to anyone who has an internet connection, be they writers, readers or folks who want to participate in activities. I have met many members from around the world and gotten to know them through their writing and our interactions. I have met some of them in person, too, after befriending them on site. It is a vast site and offers the member and the visitor many choices, thus some newbies find it confusing - but they soon get to know their way about. Also, since anyone can open an account, the site has some rules to make it friendly to all. Some people criticise the site for its insistence on the rules, but they must understand that when dealing with such a vast and varied membership, it is necessary to keep everyone's sentiments in mind. I absolutely love the site and have recommended it to several people and will continue to do so.
