Received a prepaid card with 6 month expiration, lost everything once expired. Useless customer service.
This card and the issuing partner bank is a scam, no wonder it is an embarrassment for Germany. My first and last experience with the brand. Good riddance!
I've had the misfortune of having to use this company for a year. Until this day I have never been able to log into my account and after countless attempts of making it work, all I get is we'll open a ticket to look into it and you'll know whenever they get to it.
It's really aggravating that in 2020 I have to go to an ATM to withdraw funds because I can't simply transfer it from the comfort of my smartphone or computer. Furthermore, after spending an outrageous amount of time on the phone with the "support team" to see if they can transfer the funds themselves, it becomes a mission where for "policy reasons" they need me to fax or mail them a form that God knows how long will take for them to like they say: get to it.
My only recommendation to the consumers is, avoid using this company and their services to the best of your ability, it's really not worth the headache.
This company along with her business development manager Frank. M are an absolute joke.
We spent loads of money on software development to change key elements on our site in order to comply with their requirements.
Send documents to Germany and once every was done they just stoped replying to our emails and messages via their site with no explanation.
I find that so unprofessional.
With business development managers like Frank. M you will go bust soon for sure.

I'm not trying to be "Mr. Big bad banking pro" but, this is my experience with Wirecard AG: I bought the wirecard (mycard2go) credit card in a gas station a few years ago with 100 euros on it to use as an online credit card. At the time that was the maximum you could have on an unregistered card in Germany. After awhile, I decided to register it and add more to it so I could make bigger purchases. I had absolutely no problems and customer service was extremely helpful (a little slow at times though). I bought plane tickets, rented cars, booked hotels and made ATM withdrawals, all with no problems or fees. The only negative I ever had was that it could take up to 5 working days for a SEPA transfer to go through. Recently, they sent me notice that they were shutting this card down and rebranding as boon. Planet. I got the app, registered and made a deposit. Again, no problems. Now, I'm not saying they're the greatest thing since sliced cheese, but for my needs. I'm very happy with them.

Went to put in my pin the other day and had to finally call customer service and reset my pin! Today i found out they charged me every time i entered my pin and it wasn't excepted! So i call customer support back! They say they can't help me because I've already had a refund before! Another rime that was their fault! So the way i understand it is, they steal from you once, then pay you back, then steal from you again and keep it! This is against the law and they need to be shut down! Citibank needs to be shut down for forcing us to use this card! Someone please do something!

Wirecard is the worst. Wirecard is a giant malfunctioning waste of time. Wirecard does not work. Wirecard website rejects bank account info so you cannot transfer your funds from your card to your bank. Why? So the payer (in this instance, VERIZON) has a greater chance of retaining any unspent funds you leave on your card. Wirecard is the worst, if the worst fails to function at the minimum acceptable level. Wirecard-beware! If your refund is on wirecard, good luck-you will need it!
I received a promotional debit card from purchasing a phone at Verizon with 400$ balance and used about 270$. I should have around 130$ left on the card. The expiration date has passed, I called a customer service and they confirmed the card has the balance on the card, but they cannot reissue a new card. This is a Debit card (it says on the card) and they must be able to reissue a new one. This makes no sense. They customer service was rude and not helpful. How can they NOT give me MY money? This company STEALS unused balances!
My card was blocked in Feb and since then I'm struggling with customer service. I did an online purchase which they characterized as a fraud, asking me to confirm the purchase. I confirmed and i had automatic respond to my email after a week. Every time i reply, i get to wait for a week or more for their next reply. Finally they said the card is unlocked in April. Of course, that wasnt true so i was waiting. Now when i really need that money, about 5k USD i cant get to my money, i sent emails again and again and every time they say my card is unlocked... well it's still not working! Today i even tried to transfer my money to other account, but guess what, the web page is down, there is not even an option for money transfer! I just want my money now and cant get it! Plus every time they charge me 0.50$ every time i try to purchase something online. I hope I'll get my money soon and forget about this company forver
I called half a month before my card expired said they'd send a new one out. Never came called the beginning of March to ask they told me it would be here by the 15th no later
The 15th here still nothing it's fiiiine just all my money not like I have bills to pay or rent or anything called again today told me it never got sent out and now I have to wait another 2 weeks

Citigroup unloaded its prepaid card business to this second rate company called Wirecard. Their website is slow and unhelpful. It logged me out 5 times while trying to register a debit card, leaving me in Limbo. Tried to call customer service (6 times to get thru) to a person in India. They said their systems were down indefinitely. Then the connection was cut. Thanks Citibank!
It is a sincere request to all my friends especially in Europe, UK and other countries where it is used (and please spread the word around as well) - never ever use Wirecard and never accept any payments from any entity in the form of any products from Wirecard... they are the worst of all and their sole source of income is charging money wrongfully from your accounts... and hopelessly rubbish but yet shockingly rude and arrogant customer service - people who absolutely do not value your money at all! Shame on you Wirecard!
I was issued a promotional rebate card and the card had expired by 30 days. They were unwilling to reissue the card nor provide me with any partial refund of my money. They simply stated, "That is the agreement we made with the company working with us.
Basically, they are solely interested in profit and not making things right for customers. If you are a company thinking of working with Wirecard, please reconsider.

I didn't ask to be frustrated beyond words. Must seek legal advise due to the promise of the "Buyout Contract" offered by Spectrum. Received the debit card and haven't been able to transfer the funds to my bank account. I'm a senior citizen and this ordeal is beyond frustrating... per beyond comprehension. Trying not to let this get me SICK!

Just as many others here, I was ripped off by this company. The card expires very quickly. And once it is expired, they will keep the money on the card. This is completely unexpected because as per US law, gift cards have to retain their value for at least 5 years. But here they are trying to claim that it's in their "terms and conditions" - in other words, the multiple pages of small print text they would stuff in the envelope with the card, that they know most people would not read, and most people would expect the 5-year rule to apply to this card as well. This is a scam clearly designed as a way to rip off customers who don't realize that they would lose their money if the card expired. The multiple reviews here with the same issue are a clear indication that their scam is working.
I would stay away from any promotions that use this card as a backing. For me, this was from MSI for an item that I bought through NewEgg. I would definitely stay away from any promotions that use this company.
I received a "promotional" card from my company. The card had $250 loaded on it, we used $40 of it and now that the expiration date has passed they say my "money" is expired. How can money expire? They claim this is listed in terms and conditions, however, the card was hand delivered to me and WITHOUT terms and conditions. I've had many prepaid cards in my lifetime, never has MONEY expired. This is not real life! You would think a large corporation such as them would try to make right for their customers. I've contacted the 800# on the back of the card, its one run around after another. Have spent HOURS on the phone with their so called support team. All they do is read a script and make false promises. I was told on two separate occasions that they see where I had a balance and they would re-issue a check for the remainder. Over a month has passed without resolution. Each call has a hold time of 40+ minutes, just to get more wrong answers and run arounds. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT use them! You've been warned!

Had a card given to me for a birthday present and it expired within a year! When called to reactivate they told me the money was no longer available. Stay away from them!
Closed my account for NO REASON! Been 10 days without money! How is this company operating!?!? I've sent documents to prove my identity and get my money back after account was closed for "fraud". All I did was try to transfer money to my bank, which was listed on my account already! No call, no warning, just closed my account and won't reopen it! What a joke! STAY AWAY!

Have been issued quite a few of these cards... probably lost over 600 dollars to this company for fees or expiration of card. Pure crap. This were a gift... some gift.
Is this the same wirecard.com that operates the Mastercards issued thru CSL Plasma? Cuz I've had nothing but a good experience with them. They do charge fees which I wish they didn't, but as one reviewer noted, they are interested in profits so that's kinda expected. I don't know anything else about how their cards are used by other businesses, but for my personal use, the card has been fine. I've never called customer service so I can't comment on how that interaction is. But every time I donate plasma, my payment is added to the card promptly. When I go to spend those funds, it's the same as using any other debit card. I've had no issues with the process.
The website is easy to use and navigate so I can only guess that the negative reviews here reflect some other use case with the cards/website that I'm not familiar with. But for my use - a personal debit card obtained through CSL Plasma - I've had no problems. Other than some fees charged which lower my balance, but the terms of use are clearly explained up front.
So for me, the company has done well. Feel free to reply with any questions or contradictions.

Having problems using my card. Called the number on back of the card and got a call center in Manila. No one would look into the issue!. I asked to speak w/MGR and was transferred to a useless supervisor, then to "corporate agent" who was the most rude and inept and was the "highest person I was getting to speak to". Kept referring to some documents she was reading from but refused to send them to me. Any company that refuses to provide hard copy of documents is scamming their customers! Not sure why they call themselves customer service since they neither care about their customers nor service! Would probably take 2 mins to fix my account and no one could care less!
