These people lie about everything, prey on the weakest people in the group to sell a scam timeshare.
Please do not do anything with this company. It is a SCAM and the customer service is the worst! They never tell you about the fine print and they constantly keep you owing them money with little to no availability. I have PAID for every vacation with them even though I have PAID for a timeshare. They harrass and stalk you about visits when you are there. Worst decision I ever made!
Money is the only thing that drives this company. They do not care about their reputation, their customers or visitors. We purchased in 2018 and have never been able to use our timeshare. During the presentation they toss out words like mortgage and deed, to make you think you are actually purchasing a property. You are not. You are purchasing the right to pay Westgate Resorts a lot of money for nothing. We tried reaching out to them and have been dismissed each time, they do not care about their customers after your money starts rolling in.
Do not stay at a Westgate Resorts property unless you want to be tortured for the rest of your life. I was trapped into a meeting after booking at a Westgate Resort in 2009. Since then, I have never been able to use my vacation. I discovered I had been lied to by the sales person and other important information had not been disclosed. When the fees got too high, I tried reaching out to Westgate Resorts to give the property back and was told the sales person lied about that as well.
Over three years ago I was told my property was going to be foreclosed on, but it hasn't happened. Every time I try to reach out to this company I get another email with no name on it or a representative with a different story. They will ruin your life and that is apparently their mission statement.
If you do have to book with them, here are some tips. Once the time is up for their "one hour" presentation-walk out. They might follow you, but keep walking. If they do a convincing job lying and get you to sign their contract-read it all that NIGHT. Or find a lawyer ASAP, they are counting on you not discovering the lies until it is too late because you are on vacation.
Highly recommend you find different vacation accommodations. After paying for their sales
Pitch, when you discover it definitely is too good to be true, they will ruin you financially! If you
Try to use your purchased vacation they will make you go to another meeting where they insult
You if you say no. Our location wasn't available, so we ended up at a different spot and the room
Was in horrible condition. We found out we had no owner perks and had to pay to go to the pool. The pool is getting run down, cracks in the lazy river that feel great when you hit them with your toe. Then they won't even do what is right and buy the "valuable property" back, like we were told by the sales representative. Staying at a Westgate Resort will cause you to miss at least a day of your vacation for their high-pressure lies that they call a sales presentation. Not to mention the stress of it all ruining the rest of my vacation. Then you will find yourself trapped in a lifetime of bills and misery.
Complete scam start to finish! Westgate resorts has taken our money for SIXTEEN years for
Something we never used. They lied about what we were getting in order to get us to sign
Contracts that are polar opposite of what they said. Then you call them to return this valuable
Property and they say no. In fact, they tell you to sell it yourself and they will decide if they would
Rather buy it once you find a buyer and pay them more money for the privilege! Westgate
Resorts is all about profit, they don't care who they lie to or what stories they tell. Since they
Don't allow you to record the meeting, or even have your phone out they know you can't prove
Anything. Then they just keep pointing back to their contract. Save yourself a lifetime of regret
And stay somewhere else.
Stay somewhere else, unless you want a lifetime of debt with nothing to show for it. After being held against our will for hours and being told this is an investment and would be easy to to sell as
A high demand elite property, we fell for the lies. If you do actually get to vacation at the property you supposedly own, you will find it is not the unit you were initially shown. They are always broken, dirty units-being an owner and paying thousands of dollars does not get you anywhere with Westgate Resorts.
If you try to reach out to the corporate office you will get a a politely worded cut and paste response that basically says, "sorry you believed the lies and didn't have an attorney with you on vacation, but the contract stands." There is no way to sell this, because no one wants to own
A Westgate timeshare and everyone is S desperate to get out from under the financial burden. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere where the sales reps are honest, or there aren't any sales
Reps at all-in the long run, you will be glad you did!
Vacationers Beware! Westgate Vacation Villas is full of Sharks, whose job title is sales representative. They will lie and lie to convince their bait to buy a vacation with them. They are completely protected by Westgate Resorts. Even if you reach out to Westgate Resorts /Vacation Villas you are out of luck because you cannot prove what the sales representative said. The lies are uncovered after you get home from your vacation and try to do any of the things the sales rep told you would be available to you! If you do happen to be tricked into a sales presentation, be aware there is a ten day rescission period-but you must send it in writing via certified mail. Also be aware that after the 90 minutes are up-you will need to be very rude and walk out. The sales representatives will try to sweeten the deal with even more lies. Just keep walking! Also these resorts are available on every travel website out there, so you don't need to pay for an annual trip to just one place!
These people are the worst. They are a rip-off time share scam. They lie to get you to buy in calling it ownership. You can't use it the year you buy it and then you get hit for a $1500 "Cleaning & Maintenance " for something you haven't even stayed in. Don't waste your money. Buy some real real real-estate. They are going to tell you that this a real-estate investment but is really really NOT!
Deceptive advertising on RCI. Very rude manager at Westgate Lakes resort in Branson, MO. They state on RCI they are pet friendly, but when you call its only for dogs or small horses? Our small bird with clipped wings which resides in a small carry cage was unwelcome at this resort but has been welcome and no problem at any other pet friendly resort on RCI. The manager didn't care that their ad on RCI didn't specify 60 lb dogs or small horses as the only pets they'd accept and didn't care if we could not get our money back because they didn't specify these facts on their site. Avoid these people. If they are not specifying these details, you know there are others they are hiding. And, they clearly don't care if they ruin a family vacation and cost people points and exchange fees they cannot get back.
Criminal crooks Thought we was getting a really good deal was told we had three years to take the five vacations we paid $300 down out of the 1295. Found out a couple weeks ago that four of them had to be taken in 18 months that's not what I was told when I got them you have 10 days to cancel this was done in April so therefore they say they can't cancel it I am not making my other payments and they will not refund my money so don't do it I told them they are gonna get nasty reviews because they're not willing to refund my money
They scam you into buying these low price trips and then get you there and tell you that you don't qualify for a tour and try to get you to pay full price for the resort. I was told I had to leave the hotel immediately and that I had to find another hotel after being denied the tour.
I traded a beautiful timeshare unit in another city for one at this resort in Orlando. I had phoned in advance to request a unit with a lake view, and was told it would be noted on my booking. Although we weren't wanting to check in until evening, we made a special trip at noon to register, again asking for a nice view. They promised to try to accommodate us. We returned to pick up our keys around 8:00 p.m. In asking if it had a view, the woman ignored me. When I insisted on an answer, the woman mumbled "yes" with her head down. NO, it was on the ground floor, facing the tennis court. While the 2BR unit was spacious, it was very dated. The bathtub and shower were old and disappointing, and to reach toilet paper, one needed to be a contortionist. In dismay, we asked to be moved immediately, but we're told to check back the next day to see what had come available... and, by Monday, there'd be lots of folks checking out. NOW, for WIFI, there was a charge of $10/day or $40/week PER DEVICE!?! Sheesh, doesn't even the Motel 6 provide free access? In calling about a move on Sunday morning, there was "nothing available, but check back tomorrow, because 'for sure' there'd be lots of units come open with so many people checking out." You guessed it, still "nothing" on Monday. We did not believe it, with the huge complex it is, but in wanting to get settled, we gave up, as they no doubt hoped. In fairness, the unit was adequate, but nothing like the photos on line. We did appreciate the daily towel exchange, the TV was nice and parking was easy and convenient. The pools and hot tubs were fine. The Water Park looked great, but it would have been $20pp per day it was used, so we didn't bother with it. We won't return.
