I have been dealing with Wells Fargo for months trying to close my deceased brother's one person owned business. He was the sole owner and employee of the company. Wells Fargo was provided all the necessary paper work, in original format, and still have yet to close the account and clear out the little bit of money in the business checking. They still continue to ignore after 4 months that my brother is deceased and sent a new business credit card to HIS address. I have a "private" mailbox with them and Jasmine DeLoach and Diane Bryant have failed to answer any correspondence sent to this box. I emailed them multiple times when they failed to respond to a request on which of the documents they need more information on. My legal team was able to find another form, since the original State of Florida termination and closing of small business decree simply wasn't enough, and it was submitted. I also have all the tracking codes for all of the original documents sent to them, but still absolutely NO responses to the assigned email addresses and no closing of the account. They are appalling to deal with... worst experience ever with a business and closing my brother's accounts.

Put my check on hold
September 23, 2022

Wells Fargo is horrible!
I made a deposit to my bank and was told it would be in my account on a specific day so I check my account on that day and guess what no funds. I waited the next day and no funds so I call Wells Fargo to see what was going on. The representative states they placed a hold on the deposit and the deposit won't be available until another week. I ask her why the hold and she states "fraudulent activity on the company account who sent me the check. I knew she was lying because my co-workers received a check from the same company but different banks and their check showed up the next day. I told the representative I'll call the sender of the check and give her a call back. I call the company and she states their is no fraudulent activity going on with the company account. She check Her bank and the check was cleared so I Call Wells Fargo back. I spoke to the representative and explained to her what the sender told me and she states it was held by Wells Fargo and this is just their policy but nothing she can do. I told her I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Run
September 23, 2022

This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. POOR CUSTOMERS SERVICES AND PRODUCTS. I received a credit card for a transfer and without notice reduce my credit limit thus making me have a high debt ratio causing my credit score to drop. NO LATE PAYMENTS OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN I BECAME A HIGH RISK BECAUSE OF AMOUNT OF CREDIT USE

I was recently was pretty much wiped out by some savvy scammers. They actually reached to me via. 5 digit wf number that I had received texts from in the past! (Still in my phone). The wf rep even said this was new to her as well. Never been a victim of such before and I'm pretty vigilant. This trick was very detailed. Even got a follow up call the next day only to be gotten AGAIN! And I didn't even give any personal info! It's all about the phony "identity verification" codes and this "We declined 1k charge from account ending …was this you? Reply YES or NO. If yes, you will be charged unless you try again. If no, we will close your card and send new one". You must READ totally. Never assume it says what you think it says. They're tricking people everyday!

For the first time ever in life I was finally able to save some money so I had at least ******* sitting in my checking, so I never really checked for over drafts. My son was with his father in the summer of June and unfortunately his brother gave him the password that was connected to my card. So my six year old went crazy. At the end of the month I see like 1000 missing so I immediately call the bank. Not very helpful, so I freaked out not knowing what my son was doing at the time. I panicked cancelled everything and told them at the time to not charge the yet pending but they did. Then instead of telling me it would be easier to call Apple Pay they convinced me that since March I have been getting charged, so I freak out and give them the permission to investigating. Not knowing that because it is months ago the actual transactions of June will not be compensated because it passed the time requirements. I have called, given enough time, go to the bank and ask for a rep. Appt only. Get a copy of statements call and ask for update nothing. Go to bank again and it's been almost two weeks and yet no call or feedback from no one. Now 1200 missing for three months and no one seems to care. My birthday was ruined because my card didn't arrive at a reasonable time. I now have to take cash to bank for my rent and other purchases because I'm scarred to have my money there. Single mother that fought cancer this year is now fighting her bank since 2009 for her own money. I did my part and this bank can't even give me a valid excuse for any of it. If you see fraud don't let them go back, that's how they trick you. I told them to get the recording the day I called and the 7th after Fourth of July weekend and yet no call back from anyone

Death has it's consequence
September 18, 2022

Been a WF customer for over 25 yrs. My wife passed a few months ago and they locked me out of the account because I was using her login which I am sure is typical of many couples having one log in. Anyway, that wasn't the worst part, they also removed my access to the online bill pay which we had been using for ever. Had yrs of pay history. They way it was explained to me is that I needed my own bill pay under my user name. How stupid is that. How many couples run parallel online bill pay. Is much trouble as it is to switch banks, that is what I am doing FUWF

Unfair business practices.
September 17, 2022

I deposited payroll check on 9/12. Wells fargo is still holding that check stating the check itself is questionable. The bank the check was written on verified the check as well as the company owner who went with me to wells fargo and verified the amount and the check. Wells fargo is still holding the check. Now stating the amount is questionable. I work in oil field. My paychecks are large ALL THE TIME. I have started law suit against wells fargo. All my auto pay bills are bouncing. Avoid this bank at all costs.

They don't care
September 14, 2022

Problem is Wells Fargo's "charge off" on my credit report. I tried to tell them that I had problem paying Los Angeles rent which go up and up and I thought I could just let my $1,000 I owed on credit card go to the collection agency. Oops... my mistake. I thought it was like other credit cards... no they are NOT like other credit cards! They just don't care. They DON'T CARE. Even if it is $1,000... they don't care. No, pay to delete, they won't do it. They don't care about your situation. They won't help you. It will stay there forever... Wrong birthdate, nope, don't care. They don't care. Your credit report is ruining forever with 500 score. They don't give a s***.

Horrendous customer service
September 13, 2022

In this day and age Of technology, you cannot develop a process so that a guest does not have to get out of their vehicle in the drive-through to cash a check that does not have an account with your bank?

Sherri Hernandez, The service manager was no help.

Thank goodness I do not have an account with this bank, nor will I ever! If I could give it a score of less than one star I would…

Scam charges wiped off
September 12, 2022

I got scammed out on my Active Cash credit card this past month. Actually Wells Fargo caught the fraud before I did and blocked my card. I discovered all this after the fact. A note on my online account wanted me to called in on their fraud line. The banker assured me the charges would taken off and they sent me a new card which I received a couple days ago. Im afraid to activate it or wonder if it's already activated. I toss and turn I can't sleep at night knowing the scamsters are on to me.
I suppose I could check the card out further but I put the card away and might not try to use it for two or three months because I'd hate to get caught up in a full blown identity theft hassle. The card scammers are probably not done with their caper yet. Will WF notice I don't activate or try to use the replacement card? I otherwise like the card with it's perks and 2% cash back.

Bank went downhill over the years. Seemed like a good and trustworthy company about 10ish years ago. Then in 2017 there was a huge security breach and lost 300 dollars and had to contact Wells Fargo to get the money back. A few years after that the overdraft fees started to go up without them telling us and lost hundreds of dollars as a result - that is unacceptable. Where are all those fees going may I ask? It's a scam. Just closed my checking and savings accounts today.

Dumpster Fire
September 8, 2022

Out of nowhere after 10+ years of banking with them WF decided to put a hold on my deposit for 7 business days (actually 8 because apparently they can't count) because I forgot to transfer money from my savings, and overdrafted my checking account by 8$. I was out of town visiting my mother on her death bed, and nobody will even attempt to clear the hold.

Unfortunately, was opted into using them for an auto loan a few years back. Despite their horrible history, I thought nothing of it as I pay my loans on time, all the time. First issue with them: Despite me paying extra each month, they tried to put my extra payments towards future payments instead of applying to principal. Because people pay extra so they can pay less the next month... Now, I tried to pay off the outstanding balance of my loan in one go, but the limit how much you can pay in a day from your accounts to 4,999.99. Now I have to spend multiple days going back in to make payments, which once again seems designed to purely drain extra interest pennies out of their victims.

Lazy Thieves
September 6, 2022

So I got a cashiers check from my account with Wells Fargo back in July, I ended up not needing the cashiers check so I returned to my local office about 72 hours later. I explained that the check was no longer needed and that I'd like to have it redeposited into my account. I had the check and receipt so I was told it wouldn't be an issue. Come to find out the banker chick put a stop payment on the check without my knowledge and certainly not with my permission. After about 3 days the money still wasn't back in my account so I went back to the office and the bank manager had the stop payment reversed. I've now been waiting since July 22,2022 for my money to be back in my account. I've called about 50 times a day since and today they really did it by telling me they can hold my money for as long as they want and there's nothing I can do about it. Wells Fargo makes me nauseous!

Long story short. Refund was processed over 1 1/2 weeks ago for 400 from a retun. It was supposed to be deposited into our account on Thursday. Wasn't there... we called they said it will for sure be in there on Friday... Wasn't there... we called again... were assured it was a 2 day hold you will have it by Saturday...(mind you this money was expected and needed for a planned trip we were on) Wasn't there! Monday was a holiday... had to then utilize our credit cards! Today is now Tuesday and the 400 refund is STILL NOT THERE! Now causing me to be overdrawn! I called the Supervisor and she was very unapologetic and un understanding. She had no answers for me but to keep checking back? Today and tomorrow. Meanwhile said nothing about our other 6 calls to customer service and being told it will be in there the next day and not to worry. I have been banking with Wells Fargo for over 30 years which I guess means nothing to them. Its loyal customers like me who have built this bank and made it what it is today. They seem to forget that. Im disgusted with everything about this bank and will be looking at other banks to switch over too.

I stayed with them when they dealt with the fraud situation around 2012, after they stole money from all of their clients and enrolled them in fraudulent insurance scams (which was honestly the first red flag.) I stayed with them after I noticed they overcharged my card with fees that did that apply to me multiple times (the second red flag). However, today, I finally just closed my accounts. I was on the phone with them for an hour trying to get my information removed from ApplePay, and after being transferred 5 times, the last person I spoke to who was supposed to be a Manager of some sort, hung up on me. Final straw. Can't trust them with my money or the security of it. After 10 years of service with them, will never come back.

Once again I got beat by Wells Fargo. They don't back their debit / credit purchases. Better yet they don't take the notes correctly. The staff that you speak with are terrible. Not worth going to the complaint department as I only can imagine. My last statement to the careless contact please add to the notes that all has been entered wrong... Never thought it could get worse, the brillent folks at W. F. can't change a address hoe in the world can you trust them with your money? They threatened to take away my credit card that I did not ask for or never used or will never use. FYI they do not back-up your lost, stolen, merchandise. I know first hand. Working folks at the branch said and I quote are you kidding me (no way) The back room has its own set of rules and the west coast back room have no customer service training. Look they have many branches so if you need to cash a check. Get change, maybe gate a bank check, their good for that. Never get a home equity, mortgage, again first hand they leave you with a poorly trained rep.
Beware poor information from Wells Fargo, Credit card from W. F. purchases may not be covered if you have an issue. But a business credit card that they send without informing customer can wipe out your line
If you wish to close the credit card. Just be smart. Ask questions... A new low from Wells Fargo, a brillent employee sent a message to my online message that I will get a message e-sign soon and MUST sign in 5 days, without any idea of what the message is about? I called an the rep could not tell me what this is about so I went to a branch and the business manager called and he could not find out details. So I have been told a message is forthcoming and have 5 days to respond. Whos the customer,?

Terrible customer service
September 2, 2022

I just sat in line at the drive-through for 20 minutes. I finally had to take my deposit and leave. The teller was rude and very unhelpful. He seemed to prefer helping the men who drove up after me. This was the Wells Fargo on Forest Drive in Columbia South Carolina.
